  1. They will offer Bell a fair contract for a rehabbing guy who's ability to play is completely unknown, there will be discussions, he will test the market, and finding no takers at his price, will resign for a couple years with the Bills at a modest level. As soon as Wood appears to be recovered from this injury , they will lock him up for another 5.
  2. which means he is gone before our 2nd round pick. and we won't go there with a top 10 pick... so if he is that good , forget about him
  3. Go away. no revolving door at HC please. two more years. then we will see. The guy needs an average level of injuries and his players for one entire season to judge. Hasn't happened yet. He has many of the pieces now. I want to see what they can do for most of an entire season. Can't have your best players go on IR at Midseason and expect to compete in the NFL over a two month stretch.
  4. Urbik was the backup center. He got hurt. Now we've lost both centers, Wood and Urbik. The question is should a team have a backup dedicated center, like Hanglider. probably not.
  5. Evans had a nice, lucrative NFL career.. so no issues there. The Ravens went for it and lost out on Evans. But they also discovered Torrey Smith, so all good with the Ravens. The 4th rounder we got was very fair comp. and will be a valuable pick for the Bills. So all good with the Bills. So let it go and lets go forward and stop gloating on how we screwed the Ravens. We are also the team that let multiple future pro bowlers get away as well, so Bills fans should not throw stones when they live in a glass house. Let's just go forward and get a good player with that 4th rounder.
  6. Yes they are. Good luck PTR. You will need it. Go undercover. No faded Lynch jersey. No white poms poms from the 'white out' game. Just stay low and get though it.
  7. Bills - Pats will be unwatchable. 45 - 13 or something like that. Do something else on Sunday.
  8. smokers are gross. quit. now.
  9. How? Why?
  10. Byrd will not sign with the Bills. He will play out his contract and leave for a better franchise with better prospects than the Bills, which means just about any other franchise. My guess is he refuses any contract offers from the Bills . With teams having to spend 95% of the salary cap in 2013, anyone who stays with the Bills and does not try to leave is nuts. There will be a lot of money available for the 2013 season.
  11. Exactly. No cutting guys now. Just add some.
  12. Agreed. No question Spiller can play. We'll get rid of him and he'll be a star somewhere else. Write it down.
  13. My guess is the deal would be contingent on Ralph Wilson owning the team or the team playing at the Ralph.. The Toronto game should never be before Thanksgiving true. Now that I 've said this, they'll have some season determining game in Toronto in December and everyone will be complaining that its not at the Ralph.
  14. Bills did not look like a rebuilding team when going 5 and 2 with a healthy team. So why would that same team with one year more experience not perform about the same next year. Not sure this is actually a rebuilding team. I am not sure there are "a ton of holes" not caused by injury. Just one with an way-above-average injury problem to their best talent. Luck is one of a kind. You'll see. As the team that gets him crushes us for 15 years.
  15. I based it on a point chart that I found. None of this is exact, but, for example, trading the entire draft would not get you from #8 to #1. Need more high picks from the next years draft.
  16. This is about what it would take to move from #8 to #1 this year. Would you do it? I would.
  17. I'm a lifelong Bills fan and even I admit the Pats are a tremendous operation. I love watching that team operate on offense. They get good players and good players want to play there. That is a great combination.
  18. Agreed completely. Gailey thought he was loaded at WR this year and then Parrish and Easley, both likely starters, go down week 1. Can't blame Gailey for that. Stevie has a bum hamstring for a month -- at least he played with it to his credit, but was ineffective for a month. Then out goes Jones for the year. Then out goes both tight ends and the 3rd string WR. This is bad. Gailey not complaining, just moving on. Gotta love the cool Gailey has shown. The heart of his offensive (the WRs) scheme completely disintegrates and then Fred Jackson and Eric Wood go down as well. This guy never had a chance after week 9. We'll see how next year goes I guess. I would really like to see how the Bills do with a limited number of injuries for once.
  19. David Nelson = Josh Reed . Nice player but not getting you to the big dance. If Nelson would add 25 lbs, get strong and check his "i'm a wide receiver" ego at the door he could be a Jimmy Graham all-world tight end. But not happening. This is a good post. Everyone is pooping on Fitz when he is throwing to some kid who went to St Joes, a converted running back and a bunch of practice squad guys like Ruvell Martin and Derek Hagan and some guy named Lee Smith (wasn't he a baseball pitcher?)....
  20. if he gets comparable $$$ offers elsewhere (which he will) , no way he comes to this screwed up franchise.
  21. Having to have an NFL-standard stadium is a big impediment to relocation. Love it or hate it, the Ralph is paid for and there. With $100m of renovation, it is an NFL qualified stadium. The Bills are not moving unless another city/county/province builds a stadium that a buyer of the Bills can lease. L.A. needs a stadium, so does Toronto, so do all the candidate cities. That is a $1b impediment to moving the Bills. Outside of that, I cannot see why anyone would pay $800m for the Bills and try to make the investment pay off in WNY. That would be financial suicide. The numbers could not possibly work.
  22. Would you bet the best year of your career on new ownership, who just paid $800Million for the right to do whatever they want with the team (move it, clean house, etc) , "embracing you", when you have no idea who they will be at the time you come in ? No way the top GMs, coaches and players are doing that. Even if Ralph says spend whatever you need to, etc etc,. the next owner is just as likely to replace you with his own guys . If I pay $800m for a business, I will decide who runs it....
  23. Again ( and this is getting old for me but I will repeat it again), money and getting paid is NOT the issue... why take a chance on the seismic changes that about to occur at OBD when you can get the same money at a stable franchise? Answer: you wouldn't. I agree the NFL is a nomadic tribe, BUT, the TOP guys , coaches and GMs have families and other personal issues that weigh into their decision making -- and the TOP guys are in control of where they go and make their decision ultimately for non-monetary reasons (since the money is the same for the top top guys). And franchise stability is a major reason, everything else being equal (which it is for the top top guys)
  24. Yep. the bills have "a great face for radio" right now..
  25. I am so tired of saying this, but hey here goes one more time: Top GM/Coach/Player talent is not coming to this franchise until long term ownership is in place. No one at the peak of their career is taking a chance with the best years of their career going to a franchise about to clean house top to bottom once Ralph is gone. Too many unknowns. Ralph could easily be deceased by next season. Who will buy the franchise? Where will the franchise be located? Who will own it? Don't know for sure -- therefore top (and I mean the real name brand, proven types) GMs and Coaches will avoid the franchise until that is known. Who will the coaches be? What schemes will be employed? Don't know-- depends on who the new HC is, which you won't know until you know who the GM decides, which won't be known until the new owner hires his GM. So top (and I mean the real impact free agents) players will stay away until they know who is running the team. Money is not a factor, top players can get top money from any number of teams, so "paying up" will not work. As fans we all say "of course the team will be in WNY" -- but as a top top player or coach would you bet your short-lived, once in a life team prosports career on it? Nope. So lets stop with the daydreaming about a dramatic miracle turnaround for the Bills via free agency or hiring an awesome coach in the near term.. it is not going to happen . Just draft well and grow the players you are fortunate enough to have under contract and keep moving forward. That is the formula. If you get sacked by a rash of injuries, you are pretty much f- ed, but that is the way it goes in the Bills particular situation.
