  1. I like that we are not picking a QB unless the quality offered demands it and the guy is a starter (eg. Newton) or until there is a team around the guy who is picked. I think they believe they have a QB and are building the rest of the team, unless a super QB is there to take. It is common knowledge that they were taking Newton if he fell to them..
  2. Poor QB draft this year, unless you are drafting in the top 5. No QB for Bills this year. Maybe blow a 5 or 6 on a QB, but thats about it. We have our guy for better or (probably) worse. If the Bills put another 7 or 8 starters on IR by midseason and suck next year, it will be the 3-13 kind of suck, and then you go get a QB. However I believe, if and only if they are mainly healthy all year, we can expect something like 9-7 and get blown up in an away wild card game. Big success. Yeah. And no QB.
  3. Stevie just drops game winning passes. His drops of easy catchable balls have cost us one game per year since he's been a starter. and counting.
  4. Especially important in round 1 where if you draft for need when BPA is not your need you are dead. You draft BPA in the first round no matter what, especially in the 1st round. Aaron Maybin was not BPA at 11 a few years ago , Jauron drafted for need and got burned with a one dimension situational player. Dareus was BPA at 3 last year. Was DT the Bills greatest need? No. Glad we drafted Dareus though, right? Bills fans are just so desperate for something positive. A savior. Anything. If any no 1 pick is anything less than an immediate star, the guys labeled a bust. It's been a long time since Wade was fired by nutty Ralph and this whole downward spiral began, it will be a while before it is fixed.
  5. Yep. They are like a minor league baseball team. AAA, mind you, but minor league to be sure. Second tier management and a old geez for an owner. Nice guys all, just like everyone in WNY, but you know what happens to nice guys.
  6. Wow, someone in the local press actually wrote an article and said what many many fans, especially those that no longer live in WNY, believe.. that people just don't want to go there, all things (money, other opportunities) being equal. Wow, never thought I'd see someone with the guts to write it. The Bills are doomed in WNY. The best players, coaches and managers want no part of it when similar opportunities exist in one of the other 31 franchises. Winning cures everything, but it is a chicken and egg problem. Bills will not win again because they cannot get the talent to come, if the talent does not come, they cannot win. Talent won't come, because Ralph won't overpay for it, which I can respect. So there it is.
  7. The guy for this is already on the roster. His name is Marcus Easley. There was a very good reason they let Evans go.
  8. Then we start all over again from 4 - 12. new schemes, players cut, new players drafted, blah blah, and the futility continues....
  9. "Good" coaches aren't coming to this franchise until long term ownership/general management is in place. And that won't happen until Ralph's demise. It's that simple. There will always be better coaching gigs than the Bills for the better head coaches. Chan was a great choice because top FAs don't want to be here either for the same reasons, all things being equal, and Chan is a master at scoring points and creating offense with whatever talent he has. That is his gift. He is perfect for a still-building but currently relatively talent poor and injury prone Bills.
  10. Yep. Whaley should take it. Now. That's what Bills people do. Learn the job with the Bills, then get the Hell out and go to a real franchise.. Boring and Bland is the essence of Buffalo. So, all things being equal , you go with the team with the #1 pick and carte blanche to build it your way.
  11. Maybin was drafted specifically for Jauron's 4-3 Tampa 2 defense as an edge rusher. When Jauron was fired and the Tampa 2 thrown out, Maybin became a complete misfit. Changing head coaches has far reaching implications that the average has no clue about. We also lost Eric Studesville, the best running backs coach in the league, who has done wonders in Denver, plus Kugler, a great O Line coach. We will go DE in round 1 if one is there. Stach needs one for the 4-3 over defense.
  12. Fitz is the QB. He needs Easley, Jones, Jackson and Parrish. that is what he needs. It all made sense to me before those guys all went down by the midpoint of the season. Plus Chandler was out a bunch.
  13. Plus he was the DC in Dallas that beat the Bills twice in the Super Bowl with the "4-3 Over" defense. Look for it to be reborn with the Bills.
  14. They will draft Quinton Coples from Carolina and that problem goes away.
  15. did not work out too well for the Eagles this year. dream team.. no playoffs.
  16. That works if you are assuming Merriman and Kyle Williams are 100% ready to go next year at full speed. Are you ready to assume that? Didn't think so
  17. Ralph fired Polian, he's not hiring some guy he fired forever ago.
  18. you are in idiot. the house will be full on opening day like it always is. The tailgate is 2/3 of what most WNY knuckleheads come for anyway
  19. At least one more year, unless the team goes 6-10 next year with less injuries. No more coaching revolving door please. We are riding the Doug Whaley , Chan Gailey train until Ralph is gone, IMO.
  20. Ocho Cinco without the game
  21. They need bodies for OTAs who might just have long term value as well . Wood, Bell and Urbik won't be available for OTAs at all. Average fans just don't get it. You can't have like 5 O Lineman and expect to conduct meaningful OTAs. Geez.... This is just good personnel management. We have THREE O Line starters who have had major injuries in the past couple months who will be lucky to make it to opening of training camp.
  22. Yep. The 4 and 5 WRs have to play special teams, just as Donald Jones and Sam Aiken before him did (very well I might add). Most fans don't realize the implications of roster size limits. non-starters (and some starters, esp on punts) have to do several things well.
  23. you draft BPA. This isn't fantasy football. The Bills problem is Free Agency. They let guys get away in FA and don't really sign anyone at skill positions. Every FA signing has to be some kind of bargain. Plus FAs don't want the Bills in the first place, if other offers are available. So the draft becomes critical. The Bills need lots and lots of draft picks because drafted players are stuck with the Bills for 4 or 5 years. They cannot get away. They are trapped. I believe they will sign Eric Wood next year as soon as he proves he is OK after the injury. And Levitre. So the O Line is largely set, other than LT, and it looks like Hairston and Bell have that covered. Injuries and the turnovers that come after your team is weakened by injury are what kill most NFL teams' seasons, and that is what did the Bills in this season. Go draft the best player available and try and stay healthy ... all you can do.
