Forget the media. You knew if the bills lost sunday, the "same old Bills" stuff would be everywhere. Just go beat the Chiefs and Browns and all will be well. Who?? they would have drafted Cam Newton last year if was available .. he wasn't. Same this year Luck and RGIII... gone. You gonna trade away the future -- 3 one's to get RGIII ?? Probably not. With notable exceptions, top top FAs aren't coming to buffalo...Peyton Manning is not coming to Buffalo to run a college offense... the draft is the only way this team can get better. So when your turn at the draft board comes up and no true NFL QB is there, that's pretty much it for that year. TJackson might be the guy, but not this year. You got what you got when your franchise is in a backwater like Buffalo.

it was a turnover game. turnovers lose games. period. you get them, you win, give them up you lose. simple as that. fitz will be fine. the guy can play. he will adjust faster than most QBs in the game. the guy learns fast. Gailey will run the ball more. NFL teams adjust. We'll be 2-1 by week 4 and everyone will have forgotten all about the Bills again. Usual deal. The Pats game will be the next time the media shows up to a Bills game again. Opening the season at the Jets was about the worst the schedule maker could have done to this team.

The team moving at Ralph's passing is already in the bag. That is a given, unless something very strange happens and the New York welfare state steps in or Ralph was kidding about his estate being required to sell to the highest bidder (who won't keep the team in an area with the lowest ticket prices in the league and zero national interest in their brand). Bills fans should worry more about the health of the owner rather than the health of the team. The team will recover this season to one degree or another, the owner may not.

Great point. 16 games guys. Personally , I am looking forward to TJ and CJ. They are the future, not Fred Jackson and David Nelson. -
Rodney Harrison: Mario Will Never Win In Buffalo

Whatever. Beat the Chiefs. That is the focus. Forget the rest. Period. I for one am looking forward to CJ and TJ. Bring it on. -
Give me some TJ and some CJ. Speeds kills and they our our fastest players. Put them on the field and keep them there. Injuries to Jackson and Nelson will be fortuitous as we will see the coming of new stars. Looking forward to being in the stands on Sunday. Bring on the Chiefs.

Not remotely close. I wanted Vick when he was available. He's done his time.

Jackson suffers LCL injury,nothing conclusive...
8-8 Forever? replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is probably true. Our two injuries are to guys we can replace with guys who need to get on the field anyway in Spiller and TJ. But as I say, turnovers lose games but injuries lose seasons. A 3 or 4 more starters on IR and its "hasta la vista" baby again - another one down the drain -
This is how Stevie J got his start . Just playin around with the second and third stringers....

Is this team significantly better than last year?
8-8 Forever? replied to Homer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If others pick up our cuts, that tells you we might have decent depth, which is critical as otherwise we need to be as healthy as the 49ers were last year to get 10 wins. Watch closely.. if the 49ers have a bunch of guys go on IR like the Jags had two years ago, a suddenly "up and coming" "dominant" team goes 7-9 and everyone wonders what happened. Season ending injuries to 5 or 6 impact position starters (OLine, QB, pass rusher) basically tank your season. Other than the top 6 or 7 teams who have hall of fame type skill players, especially at QB , there is parity in the NFL, with turnovers largely deciding games and severity and number of injuries to key players determining the outcome of seasons. Fitz broke his ribs in the Skins game and was never the same. Jackson, Wood, Williams, Jones all out for the season by mid season. Their backups were not nearly the same player and Fitz had to play as Pigpen is a huge drop off and Fitz just signed a big contract. I know its boring, but its all about turnovers and injuries. Those are the two things the league cannot create parity around. There are only so many impact players to go around and the games cannot be free for alls. Go Bills. Stay healthy!. No turnovers! More takeaways! -
John Potter - Why a kick-off specialist makes sense
8-8 Forever? replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love this Potter thing. Now your special teams cover unit doesn't need to be great. You can keep more second team skill guys as they don't need to be special teams experts anymore. Just kick the thing into the stands. The kickoff as we know it is going away before the end of the decade IMO. -

its about time their OL fell apart... it had been together for what, 10 years... ?

Did Lombardi nail it Re: Fitz and offence
8-8 Forever? replied to Nostradumbass's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Its all about injuries in the NFL. If you avoid them, you have the ability to adjust , tweak and change your plans/approaches during the season. If you have starters going down week after week, you are playing catchup with the backups all season. And now that training camp is half of what it was before the new CBA, this is even worse. Teams that have injury problems get blasted in the NFL. The backups are a huge dropoff from the starters and this year will be worse. Just ask the Steelers, Giants, Jags, etc. When their starters went down last year, they were very beatable. -
if RG3 pans out, we might go after Cousins. Redskins need draft picks.

Nix has had eye on Jackson for a while
8-8 Forever? replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade was required as we are down the list in free agency .. when he was cut he would have been picked up by someone else before we got our shot at him. I like the deal. Fitz hasn't made it through a season yet, this one will be no exception with how many passing plays Chan runs. -
Casey Pachall, Bills future franchise QB
8-8 Forever? replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lots of good QB prospects coming out next year. Unless Fitz lights it up this year, look for Bills to take one. -
Who does Buffalo sign off the cut list
8-8 Forever? replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes. although with Potter kicking off into the stands every time, our backup LBs won't be injured as much playing special teams. The day is coming when the kickoff as we know it disappears from the game. -
dont we think its time to retire the shout song/ its been like 100 years its been around...
-
We can get a Kirk Cousins development type QB in next years draft (which is probably exactly what they will do with the #2 pick next year)> Once OTA and training camp is over, the development period for new QBs is largely over until next year.

One thing worth noting from tonight's scrimmage
8-8 Forever? replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Preseason games should not even be televised. They are worse than camp scrimmages. One team is going for it and the other one is plain vanilla at 50% effort. Give me an 18 game schedule . Including them in season ticket packages at full price is totally absurd and an insult to the fans. these things should be half price at best. With the new CBA, less is done in camp and coaches are really pulling back on preseason "games" wrong. you get no feel for anything watching preseason games. they are not even camp scrimmage comparable. everyone trying to avoid getting hurt. injured guys feeling there way through. give me an 18 game season and larger roster sizes and lets get after it, for crying out loud. the preseason is just plain bad. -
Marcus Easley....the new James Hardy
8-8 Forever? replied to K-Gun10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And he is valuable on special teams and would allow McKelvin (a bigger bust than Easley IMO) to be cut Hagan and Namaan more useful on special teams. Backup WRs who cannot excel at special teams usually get cut or if they are very lucky go to P.S. ( I do not believe WRs are kept on P.S. very often.. maybe he will be an exception -- I believe P.S. is usually lineman and linebackers where system knowledge is key and can be plugged in on a weeks notice).. -
he can just go fishing with T.O. they are done
