Agreed. Great original post. The great QBs were all taken very very early in the drafts, with a few very notable exceptions (Brady, etc.) You have to lose out big time in a year where a great one is coming out. Poor Bills. They deserved some Luck, but ended up winning a bunch of games and being "out of Luck". Can't trade up, as the franchise needs draft choices just to fill the roster.

you're crazy

yeah maybe. I doubt we'll be able to run it with our suddenly no name O Line with guys off the street starting. We'll see. Who knows with this bunch. I'll TIVO it and watch it later if they win and delete it if they lose. I can't take the disappointing play any more. Home games I'll watch live, but thats about it. There is enough negative crap to watch on TV, I don't need the Bills to add to the negative pile...

Our two biggest weaknesses...
8-8 Forever? replied to The Voice of Truth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our biggest weakness is our players cannot stay on the darn field. I've never seen a team go from fully healthy to signing guys off the street like this one. Every year, every year this happens, especially on the lines, and the whole thing falls apart. Amazing. -
It Can't Get Any Worse. . . Can It?

well, we could easlily lose 3 of the next 4, so yes, things could get worse. -

They'll be fine, once they are healthy on the Lines. I watched them shred a very good KC defense, so I don't doubt they have the first stringers who can get it done. Its not a deep team though, they need all their players to succeed against top 10 teams, which they face in 3 of the next 4 games. If they split the next two games , we will be fine. -
Is Stephon Gilmore a potential BUST?

Buddy got at least 3 4-5 year starters from this years draft. All Good. Until of course the contracts are up and they split in FA for a real NFL franchise. -
VERY weak fan base in here....

I still think if they get healthy for Nov and Dec, they will do some damage. If they are healthy they have enough talent and chemistry to compete very very well in every game after the second Pats game... just my opinion. This is a good collection of players now, the best we've had in at least several years. If they are healthy, they will come together and get something going. I just cannot imagine it not happening with this group. I have a good feeling about this. The schedule makers have created a nightmare scheduling scenario for the next 4 games with three of them coming against teams coming off either bye weeks (Pats) or Thursday games (Arizona AND Tennessee) and the other AT Houston (yikes). So, we are pretty much screwed thru the next 5 weeks, but if we can with turnovers or something win 2 of the next three games, we are in good shape. How's that for positive thinking!! -
IF IF IF we get healthy again at the bye week, I agree. If the lines are decimated for another month, then we will probably lose to the Titans, Texans and Pats and be 2-7 and totally out of it. But if we are healthy and 4-5 after week 10, I like our chances. Those are massive IFs, but that is about what it will take.

We knew the Bills would lose @9ers in April
8-8 Forever? replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can only lose the game once. Let it go. It's a 16 game season. Now if we get healthy again and then start losing to mid level teams at home, then I'd say the wheels are off the train. -

Careful, I got a warning for calling out the id____s on this board. Did anyone seriously pencil in wins against the Pats and 49ers??? Seriously??? Didn't think so. -
doesn't matter as long as the starters are back for Titans. No way we beat the Cards, so just rest the guys and get them back for a game we can be competitive in. We need to be ready to go as a team after the bye week. That is where this season will get played.

Official Bills at 49ers Game Thread

Any significant injuries so far?? I can't watch the game. I know they will lose so all i care about is if any significant injuries occur... pretty sad huh? -
If Ralph is true to his word, the team is to be sold to the highest bidder. No way the highest bidder is one who will operate the franchise in that market. No chance. If the New York welfare state steps in and sweetens the pot, then maybe,,. but in a straight up bidding war for an NFL f ing franchise of which there are only one or two that come available this way every decade (the redskins were the last I think and that was 20 some years ago) no way. The auction of the Redskins was a crazy bidding war, shrouded in intrigue, with the heirs of JK Cooke bidding against Snyder. This isn't an crappy little $90m hockey team , this is the NFL. Real money comes out to play in this arena. You get the Boston, NY and Miami teams twice a year, merchandise sells like crazy in a real market, and you get to live a rich's guys dream. No way someone pays $800m to play in a 40 year old dump of the stadium (which I happen to love, but that's me) and sell merchandise into a chronically depressed isolated market. Not when Toronto ,San Antonio, L.A., Vegas, etc are out there. Hate to say it, but unless the fix is in (which it could be) I am not optimistic that in a fair fight, WNY keeps the franchise. Lets hope Ralph lives to 100.

Mike Nolan for Head Coach
8-8 Forever? replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The next 4 games will tell a lot. If they go 2-2 I'm all in with Gailey forever. 0-4 I am off the bandwagon. 1-3 I think should be doable. Not sure which game it it, but if they can get to 3-5, barring IR - type injury disasters, they could go 6-2 in the second half. I'd take 9-7 all day with this first half schedule. Brutal. SF then Az. on 10 days rest, then the Pats again after their bye week. Who makes up these schedules? Satan? -
Mike Nolan for Head Coach

Gailey will be the coach until Ralph is gone, IMO. Then all bets are off anyway. Who cares who coaches the San Antonio Longhorns or Toronto IceWines, or whatever the heck they'll be renamed. -
Jaws rates Fitz #30 of 32 Starting NFL QBs
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we haven't had a shot at a really good one in a while. Don't draft low enough and can't afford to trade up in the draft because the draft is all the Bills have to build the team with. When you are a pretty much a crap franchise in a market FAs don't want to be in ya gotta lose out one season to draft a franchise type QB without giving up tons of draft choices to do so. Bills haven't done that, been just good enough to avoid the best draft choices at the top skill positions. JP was the last time they tried trading up to get "the" guy and they even screwed that up. Boy, what a bunch of losers I tied into. Poor Bills. They'll probably never be any good. But I still follow them. I must be nuts. With the area and franchise's terrible reputation plus the way the NFL works, I have a hard time seeing how these guys could ever be really a top team... -
Mario Williams playing with Injury?
8-8 Forever? replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every player is paid to perform and make a difference on this team. He gets paid more because he negotiated for it and the team had to pay it to get him to come to this piece of crap franchise. MW has never been a super dynamic player.. just a very good one. Does that justify $50m guaranteed? No. Did we have to pay it to get him. Yes. Does him getting it mean he is magically supposed to play 5x better than someone getting 10m guaranteed? No. Football is a team game. We had no DEs. We needed to get effective DEs to play a 4-3 and get away from the crappy tampa 2 garbage we were playing. Mario was out there, Anderson was out there. They are upgrades from what we had. So you go get them and go with em. I applaud the Bills for taking the gift $100M+ in TV money they get and doling it out for players. Mario is no hall of famer, but he is very good and a lot better than what we had. And he is young. We will see how this goes. 4 games playing hurt is no indication of what he will do. -
Stevie couldn't carry Green's shoelaces. AJ is freaking all world. Doesn't mean Stevie isn't effective.. he is. He definately has this hamstring problem that needs to clear up ... this team has a bunch of nicked up guys after only game 4 (CJ, Fred, Stevie, MW, Urbik, Glenn) .... could be a couple ugly weeks out west...

Mario Williams playing with Injury?
8-8 Forever? replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he is playing with a cast on it.. have you seen him grab and throw anyone yet? Watch closely. He can't . This is no different than Kyle Williams with no burst off the line because of the bad heel. Ankle, foot and wrist/hand injuries are very bad for lineman, especially d lineman like MW who are power , not speed rushers. The guys playing with probably the worst injury he could have... if it was legs, he could still engage and throw guys, he can't really do that with this injury. We shall see. Fans need to get smart and in tune with what is going on . If this is still going on in week 8, then we have an issue. For now, he is no more ineffective that Kyle W. was last year with the bum heel. the contract and money are irrelevant. -
probably. big bounce back effort-wise I would predict... i would be totally shocked if they are healthy during the game but lay down and get crushed... not happening. Alex Smith is a nice player but not brady
