[closed]Future outlook for the Buffalo Bills
8-8 Forever? replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph was clear that the team will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Now that the burden of building a $1b stadium has been lifted from an L.A. buyer, that clears the way to bid and win the Bills for L.A. in all likelihood. Bills go to the West, Chiefs go to the North, Ravens go to the East and your done. this is a no brainer. anyone who thinks the bills are staying is arguing that Ralph was lying. Maybe he was. We will see. -
yes yes yes. the dome team will hate this weather forecast...
-
did everyone see Sam Young play Sunday...? what a mauler. I am looking forward to seeing him play this Sunday to see what he does in a full game.

This is the year they draft the QB. Probably #1. That is my view. Frankly, I would go after Michael Vick as well once philly cuts him. He solves all the problems we have with Fitz, maybe not forever, but we don't have forever if we want this team to stay in WNY. We need sellouts week after week til the day Ralph dies. Vick's contract will go away when he is released by philly and no one will touch him because he is 33. But he is dynamic and with Chan's quick passing offense, he will not take the hits anymore and will not be freelancing off a deep drop. He has a cannon for an arm and is one of the best athletes this league has, even at 33.

top coaches aren't coming to buffalo. forget it. It took $100m to get mario here. what are we paying a "top" coach and his staff? $50m? for non-players? It is not happening. Buddy and Chan are what you have until Ralph passes. Lets stop bashing Chan as he is not going anywhere. probably the safest job in the league. 1st, the Bills don't have the cash to spend $7-8m per year (probably more as you have to pay the "buffalo premium" to get FAs to come) on Welker, plus he and his hottie wife and not plopping down in WNY so they can hit the bars on Chippewa. what a joke. forget the Welker idea. just forget it. this is not fantasy football. we are talking about people and motivations here.

Not sure. Wood, Johnson, Hairston all out now... I can see this thing degrading ... this team just gets destroyed with injuries. its really amazing.. who the heck plays center now?? but no, starting over would be a bigger disaster. this is a mediocre franchise in general. competitive, yes, championship possible? no.
-
+1. Just win out and get moving for next year.. if we start over with brand new Offensive and Defensive schemes, we are dead for another 3 years. The players won't match up, we start the player merry go round and get no where. Just leave it alone. it is what it is. Now the defense knows what it is doing, we've got Brooks and Mario and Bradham and all in there and learning and we are going to blow it up and start over? ? no.
-
If he had not been hurt, he would have been starting a while ago. They really liked him in the summer but had to wait to get him in there. He's probably a starter next year.

Assuming Levitre is resigned and Byrd is resigned, my sense is Nix is pretty much built the O and D lines, RB is set. No pro bowlers, but set at WR with Nelson and Easley at full strength. LBs and QB still weak. You can see them working Searcy and Brooks into the lineup. Bradham has taken over from Moats. Time to draft a QB. That is this year. They are building a football team.. The QB is the big issue to getting to the next level but they will address this this year. Barring a bunch of injuries, I could potentially see them running the table the rest of the year. Doesn't matter, but they were not going far in the playoffs anyway. gotta believe a little. I like what they are doing. It is taking forever and they still do not have a QB, but i like what they are doing.

2014 year of the quarterback?
8-8 Forever? replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They will draft a QB high this year. No doubt. This is the year. Buddy got his left tackle, his cornerback, his Def Ends, his WRs (Nelson will be back next year), as long as he sings levitre and byrd, LB and QB are the next targets. I think if he hits on a QB the kid starts right away behind a good line and running game. Good plan. Just takes forever. -
Chan Will NOT Change How He Calls Plays
8-8 Forever? replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
don't think you could have given enough to get from pick 11 to pick 2. Probably at least a 1 and 2 for 3 or 4 years. that would kill the franchise since no top FAs will come. too many needs elsewhere. the draft is all the bills have. -
no elite QBs this year? what a shock. I'm stunned. we all know last year was the year. Indy got incredibly lucky as they were not nearly as bad as their record indicated. If we put a high school QB in there we can go 1 -15 as well.. wait...
-
Season's over. too bad. thought they had something this year. I was wrong.
-
I expect him to have some good success for the remainder of the season, since the team is healthy and the competition is not top 5 teams coming off byes every week or every other week. I like Fitz. He is not taking us to the promised land of a SB triumph, but he is a top 15 QB in my mind. Frankly, he has no one to throw the deep ball to in the first place and has been playing from behind is just about every game. Buddy will draft a QB 1 or 2 this year and you all can get your wish for a 6 foot 4 225 lb superman straight from NFL central casting to ogle all year.
-
Fitz is an above average NFL QB, a good player on a generally very average team. I think he has been very good, especially in the last month. you guys want f ing " 6'-4" Superman". not happening anytime soon, no Lucks and RGIIIs in this draft and as won't draft high enough to make it happen.. and trading up for the next best 6-4 superman is unlikely as you sack the next 3 drafts to do it. with a franchise location that cannot attract top free agents with other than $100m contracts, giving away 3 drafts (which are the only way this team can progress) for one supposed 6-4 superman will not happen. So we will draft the best QB available wherever we draft with either the 1 or the 2 and go from there. The" Aaron Rodgers approach" ... the only way I see this happening. Not ever sure I want to blow a #1 on a QB this year, assuming Levitre and/or Byrd or both probably walk for better franchises after this year (very likely).
-
two 1's and a 2? to go from 6 to 2 in the draft? to go from 11 to 2 would have been probably impossible... not sure that could be done... maybe 3 years worth of 1's and 2's... you could kill your franchise doing that...
-
We become relevant again after this game. O line healthy, D Line healthy. Let's get after it. Glenn and Hairston will handle the Colts D ends. That's all they have. We will run the ball. We will throw it. Gilmore will handle Wayne. Defense will be getting an identity this week. Go Bills.

My First Bills Game. Need help!
8-8 Forever? replied to benbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it is completely random, I've had crazy drunk canadians behind me F ing this and F ing that for 3 straight hours and I've had a dad and his son. Who knows. Luck of the draw. If you get the first scenario, you are screwed. If you get the second, it's fine. Good luck. anything in the endzone is risky. that is where all the drunks and crazies are. heaven help you. -
Would Rivers be an option at QB next year?
8-8 Forever? replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Bills fans are such a desperate lot ... if Fitz were two inches taller, had a somewhat better arm and was good looking and arrogant, Bills fans would be in love with him and saying he just needs more time and he's our guy.. fans are dumb. By the time the QB situation is sorted out this franchise will be playing somewhere else. Enjoy what you have now, right now, because it is unlikely to last much longer. -

one name. Rob Johnson. -
This is true. Guy's been playing hurt, but says nothing. Love Dareus. I love the way our D Line and O Line guys are getting healthy at exactly the right time. Time to run the table to 10 - 6 boys !!! Billieve it!
