  1. Correct. The Mario contract will have them both looking at bigger numbers than would otherwise be the case. Yes.
  2. "the century of suck" ... oh LOL I love that..
  3. Any other owner would not be running his franchise in WNY.
  4. no one is going anywhere. Ralph is not going to get into housecleaning at 94 or whatever he is... the guy handed them the keys 3 years ago and he's not taking them back... whether the stands are filled or not with the lowest ticket prices in the league matters not. He still get s the $100m+ in TV money and half the gate of every team he travels to... all staying away from the Ralph does is ensure a new owner will have no problem moving the team he buys in a couple years..
  5. Redskins would only take a 1st or several picks including a 2nd for him. We have no leverage other than to replace the picks they gave up to get RGIII, and those were not 3 and 4th rounders, my friend. . We had our shot at Cousins, et al and passed. Move on. The only sure fire guys were Luck and RGIII. The rest are who knows.
  6. The criteria for "market success" will be interesting to see. Lowest ticket price in the league, empty or cut rate luxury box rentals, bottom 5 merchandise sales, zero TV ratings and fan interest outside of WNY, I'd argue that is market failure of the highest order if I was a prospective buyer with $800million on the table to buy and move a team in a national and hopefully international league. Full stadiums of people paying $40/tkt don't mean much in the grand scheme of NFL team economics. Agree, full stadiums are good for show, but the NFL is a revenue sharing league, and Bills franchise is a drag on the growth of the shared revenue and WNY is death to the non-shared revenue in any sober analysis. Hopefully the "fix is in" upon Ralph's death and he didn't really mean " sold to the highest bidder". Plus the Jerry Jones' of the NFL will be 100% behind moving the franchise.
  7. I actually think this is what will happen. I don't see anything happening as Ralph has to be pretty much checked out by now. He said, "Buddy, this thing is yours.. go build it as best you can within the salary cap and see you in the next lfe
  8. I am out. Internet TV for me. I am dropping Directv altogether. ds i'll be watching over the net. That's good enough for me. I am becoming a Redskins fan the more I see of RGIII here in D.C. What a talent.
  9. Yep, the "very little tendency to correct his mistakes" part has now convinced me that we need to move to (gasp) another round of coaches. Cam Cameron will at least run the damn ball. Can't believe it's come to this, but its housecleaning time again. And Wanny did not have them ready for the read option stuff Wilson was doing until the game was lost. I live in the D.C. area and I am getting behind RGIII anyways... what a talent and what a person that kid appears to be at this point. Screw the Bills.. I am dropping the Ticket as well. Not going to watch this crap anymore.
  10. Rob Johnson is the reason you don't do it.
  11. That is the point, "disabled" teams like the Bills with functional disabilities then get a shot at the tournament. This would be a great change as the Bills are never getting there.
  12. You need start buying it pal, because with one 7 year exception we have been living the reality of it for 40+ years.... No owner other than one who paid $25k for the team would keep a franchise in B Lo for all the reasons I stated and more. It's not defeatism, just looking at the facts and history. 8and8 forever baby. It is was it is. Mularky and G Williams were the Schianos of the last decade. They did just great with what they had to work with...... who ever heard of a head coach resigning? Only in a fundamentally flawed franchise will a HC actually resign an NFL head coaching job.....
  13. You all hate Fitz and want him cut tomorrow. The 8andForever handle reflects my belief that the franchise is saddled with structural handicaps that prevent it from ever being much worse of better than an 8 and 8 record. Good coaches will come (Knox, Levy, Gailey, Wanny) , but great ones will not, good players will come (Stroud, Barnett, etc etc) , but great ones reject the place and the franchise and either won't come or leave as soon at they can (watch what Byrd, Levitre do) . so the team just stays " competitive" never having had or if it had, lost whatever non-monetary attraction it might have had to truly great coaches and players. The franchise is a mirror reflection of the place, and attracts those kinds of actors; hard working, blue collar players, but not championship calibre. Win just enough to screw up the draft, lose too many to compete for the crown. Top FAs and players have to be bribed to come to the franchise. So the theory behind 8and 8 is The Bills are what they are. They are the Kansas City Royals. The Sacramento Kings. Most of the posters here are yearning for something that is simply not possible given the franchise's market and competitive position relative to the other teams. Just the way it is.. they are fun and part of our childhoods and growing up (mine at least), but they are a minor league team trying to play in the rock star majors of the NFL. Competitive? Sure. Champions? Not possible. So you find the silver lining in everything. Hence, I thought Fitz was really good yesterday. Fumbles and penalties lost that game, like they do most NFL games.
  14. They will draft one this year. No question. Probably draft at about 10. Barkley and others will be there at 10. Maybe even Klein. Taj Boyd is a nice one out of Clemson as well. No real glaring need elsewhere at #1. Maybe even trade up. Buddy and Chan know what they are doing. A rookie QB behind a crappy line2 years ago would have been another David Carr scenario where the QB gets killed and never grows. That is there philosophy. This the year to draft a QB. did you watch the same game I watched? I'm not a Fitz lover, but he was outstanding yesterday while getting killed all day. Chan should run it more to prevent that, but Fitz is not the issue my friend... at least not yesterday. you will get your 6ft 4 superman QB prospect this year... patience...
  15. Exactly. They are building a team. I think they made a lot of progress this year. CJ is the man -- Fred will go back seat next year for sure. TJ got his first NFL WR season under his belt and with Stevie and David Nelson coming back, you gotta like that mix. Searcy, Brooks and Gilmore ready to join Byrd in a quality, young secondary. Buddy has singlehandedly built quality 7 man and 8 man DL and OL rotations , respectively via draft, undrafted guys and FAs -- took 3 years, but he did it. We are closer to relevance than we have been since Bledsoe. Got to sign Byrd and Levitre, but assuming that, I like 'em. Chan's playcalling still worries me, but he will only go with what he trusts, and it takes time for him to trust plays and players. He and Wanny are loosening things up. I still like 'em for next year.
  16. 25 of 32, 250+, 1 score in mid December. and got the crap kicked out of him. This guy is not our biggest problem. Do I want a 6'4" Superman QB? sure , that would be nice. But Fitz is no slouch.

  18. I cannot even imagine starting over again with all new coaches, going back to the 3-4 and having all the wrong players for it, etc etc etc....and then stinking it up on defense all over again with 4-3 guys trying to play 3-4.. ... gosh its painful to think about, but hey, thats the Bills. Every three years, blow it up and start from scratch. And keep losing. Too much turnover. We will never get there. This city and fans deserve nothing. Buffalo is not remotely qualified to be an NFL franchise city anymore. Be glad you have what you have. When Ralph is gone , you'll see what I mean. Big money will come in and take this team away in a heartbeat.
  19. Assuming we sign Levitre, the O Line and D Line are set for a while. Snow was good, we have 3 right tackles who can play, the D Line is solid. Buddy knows how to find lineman. Set at RB. When Nelson comes back, set at WR with TJ going into Yr2 and being better. Corners should be good with new guys getting through their rookie years .. Bradham solves a problem at LB. Bills basically added 5-6 starters from this years college crop alone. They are building a team. Both Anderson and Mario being injured for half the season was bad, but they will be back. We have an issue at QB, though, and I am not sure about Chan, but to blow it up and start over would be asking for trouble.
  20. you guys all want Chan fired if memory serves. that means the whole staff gets canned. that is the way it works. Can't have it both ways. If Chan goes, they all go. And we start all over again with 20 new coaches.
  21. Agreed. Buffalo is a big liberal town, no mercy for people who have done bad things. Wait.... Bill Clinton got off the hook pretty fast....
  22. yep, thats the list. that is it. Flacco, Ryan.. um .. no. they will not carry a team.
