  1. +1. Geno is nothing special, based on seeing him against top competition.
  2. We should have paid him and kept him. As Parcells said, to be a good NFL player, you need to be a little crazy or "off" or something to that effect. We don't need choir boys on our team we need prickly a-- holes who beat you and then tell you they just beat you . Peters, Incognito, Levitre, next year Wood in all likelihood... you don't see the Pats sending young Pro bowlers away B/c they are bomb throwers. Heck, the one Pats pro bowl lineman called out the freakin owner before getting paid. Do you want those kind of guys on your HS or College team? NO. Do you want them on your NFL team: yes. Exactly, I do not begrudge any NFL player who scores a big contract. Not in the least. The careers are short, can effectively end on one play .. and the teams have no loyalty nor should they.
  3. I believe the signing of Kolb means the Bills intend to draft QB likely no. 3 and maybe no. 2. Someone they like will be there both at 2 and 3 in my opinion. Not much to choose between these QBs once Geno is gone, they all have flaws and they all may be Trent Edwards at the end of the day. Might as well wait a year for Bridgewater or one of the other guys coming out who have much higher grades than this crappy group.
  4. 100% of Bills fans would be happier than they have ever been if they go 19-0 and win the SB. However I believe most fans deep down know this franchise's setup and history is very much flawed and success in the current setup is highly unlikely. Until committed long term ownership is in place top quality NFL people and players are in most cases staying away unless this franchise is the only option to stay in the league or get in for the first time.
  5. closest this franchise will ever get to it
  6. I think OBD is being prudent, doing what they can when they can. So many holes to fill on this team, talent is just average, on average. College coaches. Front office trying to do the right things within a budget, like every other team. Just hasn't been a very good or attractive franchise for a long time, one that really needs a "savior" in my opinion as solid front office management and good coaching probably will not be enough. They are trying. They are doing their jobs. Need a breakthrough of some kind. With the Pats being great, the Phins getting a lot better at least on paper plus another brutal schedule this year, I am afraid yet another crappy season of little-to-cheer-about is coming. Let the Marrone firing countdown to 2016 begin.
  7. This absolutely means they will settle for whoever falls to them at 41 (or even in the third). In fact this gives even more fuel to the argument that we should trade this years 1 for someone's no 1 next year and their no 2 or 3 this year, trade both no1s next year to get 1 overall and go get bridgewater or manziel. now that makes a lot of sense to me now that we have a couple guys who can take snaps this year and not drop the ball or win many games.
  8. Yes, the choir boy suburban horse rider types we have enough of those
  9. agreed on this. he wanted to make sure he landed somewhere. played all the options. good for him. the players have to play hardball as well as the teams do. why sign with no-QB Bills when RGIII is waiting in a TE-friendly offense in D.C. ?
  10. Yes, agreed, I do not think FA activity will pick up until after the draft.. the league year has started, the big contracts have been cut , etc. and all the FAs will need to sit and wait until the draft finishes and teams figure out what they still need.
  11. Yes. Of all the negatives surrounding joining this franchise, the love and tolerance the fans have for the team is the brightest spot.
  12. Exactly. Then we either have TWO no. 1 picks next year or trade them to get the 1 overall.
  13. the coming season is lost. we all need to accept that now. with that schedule and who the heck knows at QB and NFL rookie coaches on offense, please.... so, we need draft picks, high ones, as many as we can get, as no decent Free agent is coming here in the next couple years.. the draft is the only way
  14. This is actually a pretty interesting idea. Swap our #1 this year for someone else's #1 next year plus whatever extra pick this year that makes the deal fair, probably a 2 or likely a 3 this year . Then take both of our #1's next year and trade them for the overall #1 pick next year. I like it, if you believe an awesome QB talent is coming out next year or you just want to make sure you have a shot at the wrecking crew called Jadaveon Clowney , likely to be #1 overall next year. I like this, very creative , and you still have 6 picks in a deep draft this year.
  15. Geno Smith No. No QB in Round 1 please.. there is no savior QB in this draft. give it up. please.
  16. Huge Cap hit for Flynn, plus Fitz' $10m cap hit, thats almost $20m in cap space chewed up by QBs and the draft hasn't even happened yet. For $20m i want peyton manning walking through the door
  17. Cold sober post (how unusual for this board) and agree, but I never have seen Geno Smith look good in a game against top competition. To bet the franchise on that guy at 8 is a helluva gamble.
  18. Yep. Put it in the city. That land is not worth that much,,, could mow down just about any 10 square blocks you want and you wouldn't lose much.
  19. Agreed. Taking a QB at 8 this year is a somewhat wasted #8 pick. Pick a QB at 8 and he needs to be able to start week 1. None of these guys can do that without getting killed and all also have highly uncertain upsides, all of them. Let's take that risk in the 2nd round, not the 1st.. right?
  20. Yes, maybe, but it will be away for the Pats "homecoming/showcase game"... 45 - 13 or something like that...
  21. Yep, couple a key injuries on the O and D Lines and this season will go down the crapper in a hurry with new coordinators, new system and new QB all trying to get on the same page with CBA-limited practice reps. The New CBA simply added to the difficulty of rebuilding a team.
  22. thank for quickly returning this post to football. Realfootball365 killed their Bills board by constantly bashing each other over religion and politics. Lets not do that. Just Bills bashing here !
  23. because he is not very good?. if the Bills cut someone and they are not picked up, that tells you a great deal. There is all kinds of film on these guys, you can study them to death. and no one wants him. The litmus test for the Bills is how many of their FAs are signed by other teams. Its actually getting better. there was a time that if you were cut by the Bills, your career was over. no THAT says a lot about the talent state of a team. frankly, there is quite a game of cat and mouse going on this year with FAs.. teams are almost colluding with each other, creating anxiety among the FAs looking for jobs... this may stay this way until after the draft.. interesting... I think Brad Smith is a good player. Big body. Fast. Hard to bring down. Knows how to play the game. We need good players. Is he a great player? No. but he probably plays a lot of WR this year if we don't pick someone up.
  24. +1. The draft won't save 'em this year, and no FAs are coming to a team with crumbling facilities, a college coaching staff and a near-death owner. 4 -12 in 2013. HIt bottom as a franchise this year. Fans walk away in droves. Hope is lost. Yes. This is probably what they will do. Won't sell tickets, but nothing will this year. So continue to rebuild (again).
