  1. I don't know... Greg Shiano (sp?) in Tampa did the rah rah high intensity otas and camp and he team burned out the last half of a 16 game season ... he is approaching differently this season... will Marrone do the same thing ? hope not as he has beenin teh league.. the reality is this franchise gets the leftovers of everything , front office, coaches , players... its f ing Buffalo, for crying out loud. It's reputation as a place where careers go to die is well established (if not deserved). Just the way it is, until a few winning seasons are put together and long term ownership is in place. they will get there. eventually . in L.A.
  2. +1. Touch football game in the sand. Wives on the sidelines with cocktails. I'd watch that.
  3. Spoken like someone who just paid Ralph a couple thousand for season tickets and is trying to justify it. But hey, 'fan' is short for fanatic, so all good I guess.
  4. No one pays $800m for something and then does not bring their own people in. It all gets blown up when Ralph passes.
  5. yeah yeah yeah.... heard it all before.... bunch of injuries. probably come out 1-4. overall 4-12.
  6. this is not exactly a ringing endorsement for Mario as a person... more damaged goods in B -Lo
  7. +1 what blowout that's gonna be. If you're going to a single game, go to one you think the team might actually have a good chance of winning..I hope the tailgate is good
  8. 4 -12. Maybe a half dozen winnable games. Gotta get worse before you can get better. This is one of the "get worse" years. Oh, and I forgot to mention if Ralph dies the whole thing gets blown up and we start all over .. again. Just putting it out there. Knowing this franchise, they'll probably start to get better, hope will rise, then Ralph will die and new ownership group will take over and understandably replace everyone with their own people.
  9. All of this irrelevant . When Ralph dies, new ownership will flush them all and start over. Guaranteed. No one pays $800m for an asset and does not put their own team in to run it. Having said this, it is very very good for Whaley, Marrone and crew in getting NFL experience while Ralph is still with us, but make no mistake, new ownership will flush them all. Their contracts are small, and new ownership will have no loyalty to todays team. Brandon, the whole lot of them will be gone.
  10. Garrard is very good. His body just failed. This why I never begrudge the big NFL contracts. Never know when it will all just instantly end.
  11. Always an interesting dilemma. Heaven forbid the Bills get good again and have a bunch of 4pm and night games. We'll be calling them the "Body bag" games or the "Demolition Derby". Is what it is. Suburban , drive only 70,000 seat stadium with cheap seats in a drinking town. Powerful combination.
  12. Yep. Sellouts. and wipeouts. gluttons for punishment, these bills fans
  13. ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........
  14. Stevie is not in the same league withe those three guys. No chance. Stevie is probably a no. 2. He's a no 1 in our eyes b/c he's all we have and we are fans (fanatics). Can we just face that please.
  15. Yawn..... who cares... ? Yawn and yawn....s'more..... zzzzzzzzzzzz..... go win some games and fans over 30 will start paying attention again.. good to see another qualified minority candidate get a shot at an NFL GM job. Are there any other black GMs besides Ozzie Newsome in the NFL? oops just looked it up: Martin Mayhew - Detroit Lions (ex- Bill ) Jerry Reese - New York Giants Ozzie Newsome - Baltimore Ravens Rick Smith - Houston Texans Rod Graves-Arizona Cardinals Reggie McKenzie-Oakland Raiders
  16. You are thinking too much. Put the kid out there and see what he can do. We're 4-12 this year anyway. If he gets blasted so what? Not much invested withe rookie salary cap. With Bridgewater and a half a dozen better QB prospects coming out next year, lets see what EJ has now so we know what to do with what should be the "great QB class of 2014". You people who see EJ as the one and only answer at QB are in dreamland.
  17. Some dreamer in the end zone seats.
  18. so did Vince Young, and Jeff George, and Brian Brohm. Doesn't mean crap. Show me 60 minutes for 16 games in a regular season and I will believe.
  19. there is a reason a guy who was to be a no 1 pick does not get picked at all. this guy probably won't make it so start preparing
  20. Ralph Wilson is the smartest guy in the world. Amazing how the same scenario plays out year after year. I root and follow, because i have for 40 years, but do not believe anymore. This franchise is structurally flawed, and until long term ownership is in place or a some kind of miraculous injury-free talent explosion occurs , it will continue to be the landing place for raw rookies, 2nd tier FAs and college or first time head coaches, leading to consistent mediocrity.
  21. Yep. The NFL is not a weightlifting competition. With the lack of talent on this team I see maybe 5-11. Probably less with all the new schemes and players, college coaches and a rookie QB. The product on the field should have little Win and Loss success this year. Look at the schedule, they are obviously overmatched in like 14 of the games. Bills = minor league baseball team = farm system or developmental league team. Just the way it is. if you put aside the big TV contract payout and the $50 to $100 ticket prices, Bills are like a AAA baseball team or a club rugby team. Bunch of second tiers guys at the back half of their careers trying to hang on or developmental rookies or early stage guys learning the ropes. Goes for both players, coaches and management for that matter. It's all OK because at least there is a franchise, but lets call it for what it is please. They have a good time, make a bunch of money, the management and coaches are the typical clubby regional guys (brandon, whaley, marrone) who all get along because they are all the same guy. Like the local rugby club, but with $130M TV payout coming in every year to pay the players and a large gate attendance to pay for a big practice facility and high pay for the clubby guys . Its all good, lets just take it for what it is. Major league guys aren't coming to a 3rd tier market, so its kind of like the college club team, good guys, decent ability, but will get killed by the NCAA team most of the time.
  22. not even close. too bad moulds was on such bad teams for so long
  23. "Are we just wanting to believe the BS again and are just as gullible as they come?" -- I love the offseason when your team is undefeated. Ralph Wilson is the smartest man in the world. The stadium is paid for, the team cost him $25,000 and every year 60-70000 suckers use the excuse of a parking lot party to fill the free stadium 10 times for him at 50- 100 bucks a pop plus parking and concessions. Say what you want, the guy is brilliant, which means Bills fans who actually PAY to see this franchise are.......
  24. The commercial breaks are killing the in stadium experience. It is not dead yet, but it is dying. Someone did a study and determined that a football game is about 20 minutes of actual playing action and 3 hours of standing around between plays, halftime, commercial breaks etc. Really a scary stat. I am beginning to enjoy lacrosse and european soccer not because the sports are better but live simply because there is no time for commercials. It is all 90 or 60 minutes of game action with no time outs, etc. in a couple hours or less the game is over and you watched like 4 commercials.
