  1. That would be nice. Would certainly be an indication that the team's prospects are better in the near term than anyone with a brain believes. We shall see. I was at that opener 10 years ago when it happened. Pretty amazing day.
  2. Probably, YES. Plus, my understanding is they wanted him well before the draft, so it isn't like it was "wow, EJ's there, we should think about taking him" .. they planned on getting him since before the combine, and traded back simply because they knew he would fall at least to 16, so they picked up another pick in the process as well. So, if he has the offense under his belt, he starts right away. Why not? Nothing to lose. Home field for first two games. No real expectations for this team this year, so this is the time if ever there was one. Just depends if he is competent in the offense by September. They will give him every chance. QB/HC/Staff all have 3 years to get it together, so lets start ASAP. Of course, if Ralph dies , its all in the crapper as a new owner will blow it all up yet again.
  3. new owner will buy it out and move the team. money will not be an object . NFL teams with 6 games every year against Pats, Jets and Phins don't come along very often, most of the old owners are dead or gone, another team potentially will not come around for quite a while.
  4. Yep, he'll be gone after his rookie contract is up. You heard it here first. Better draft a corner #2 or 3 next year.
  5. He is gone. Just move on. Seems his agent wants top DB $$$ , Bills will not pay it , and that's it. Andy Levitre all over again.
  6. Its not about the money. Byrd wants to win and be with a solid franchise that will win. It will have to be a overpay situation for him to stay and that won't happen. See Levitre. This is the Bills we are talking about.
  7. I was very active and very much enjoyed RF365 when it stuck to football. When it switched to politics and religion, I bailed. Please don't turn TSW into a politics/religion rant board. If the moderators allow this, this board will be at risk as well. There are all kinds of places to debate the non-Bills, non-football stuff. This is the only place left where it is all football and pretty much all-Bills. Buffalo Rumblings is Ok, but that is a commercial site that ultimately is about selling you stuff. That will be the last refuge for Bills fans if TSW goes all politics/religion.
  8. I don't blame him. OTAs are silly . Get em out of shorts and see what they can do.
  9. He and Vince Young should open an Arby's . In Shreveport. Vince can work for JR, since JR is the money behind the deal and Vince is broke.
  10. I believe that when Ralph passes at least one of the bidders in the open auction for the franchise will intend to move the team to London. Along with bidders intending to move the team to both Toronto and to Los Angeles. Believe it. The train is coming.
  11. Yes. He will be leaving IMO.
  12. If the Poz thing is true, that tells you a lot about the desirability of this franchise from a player perspective. Not a good fact if the Bills matched and Poz left anyway. This franchise is not attractive unless you are at the very beginning or the very end of your career. Kind of like a minor league baseball team.
  13. NFL players know that second contract is where you need to hit the jackpot. You do whatever it takes to hit the jackpot. If your current team jackpots you, fine, it not, you go where the jackpot is. Nothing else matters. Simple. Levitre did exactly what he needed to do (get the big guaranteed money) and is now thanking himself for doing it as his body starts to break down. Titans bet and maybe have lost. We'll see. It happens. hard to argue with how the Bills played this one with their switch to no huddle speed offense. Don't need pro bowl o-lineman to do that... just good players who are in great shape. they intend to outrun and outhustle the other team.. who knows if it will work
  14. We've heard this about players before. Mario Williams, Mark Anderson were going to rock the world last year. Poof. T.O. gonna rock the world. Poof. Gailey is an offensive coaching genius who can make anyone good. Poof. I'm not buying it until I see it for an entire season. I am ready to be disappointed (again). But this is the height of the Bills season, lots of wins, no losses, winning the off-season Super Bowl. Yeah, yeah, yeah... seen it all before... EJ Manuel a real "franchise quarterback" Love that term "franchise Qb". Who the heck made that up? We'll see. Bills always find a way to f it up. Injuries, consistently being out coached by the top 10 teams on both sides, turnovers, no pro bowl talent, Canadians who are psychotic drunks at the tired, old Ralph but sit on their hands in Toronto. This franchise is messed up. World's gonna change when Ralph passes.... big dark cloud hanging overhead people.
  15. +1. We have no idea what this team and its players will produce this year. No idea. Its either a blank slate or a black hole. We will know by Halloween.
  16. This year is a complete unknown, but with all the unknowns at Coach, QB, etc. you cannot expect more than 6 wins when you are in rebuilding mode (again).
  17. Brady will go no huddle all day in the opener, limiting was Pettine is trying to do with his personnel combos. Bet on it.
  18. who knows. expectations are so low I am somehow morbidly looking forward to Ralphs passing just to see the drama about the new owner/team direction changes. that seems to be the most interesting thing these days.. maybe they can change coaches every year and draft a QB no 1 every year for a awhile so at least our imaginations can run a little (as the reality is all too negative.)
  19. If that were true, the Bills would be better on paper for this season. Give me an experienced OC and QB for one season any day. The defense put Fitz in many very bad situations last year that you had to be Peyton Manning to get out of. But coaches are a package deal. You get all of them or none of them. Just the way it works. That's why when the Bills are sold, it starts all over again, top to bottom. Don't get too comfortable with Marrone and Co. they won't be around very long.
  20. Yeah. Hard to get excited about Marrone on paper. Lets just wait and see. Maybe he's another Harbaugh. Probably not, but lets see. Not a lot to be excited about right now. Bad team coming off a very bad season with personnel that do not look to be much of an NFL-level upgrade from last season. It's a restart, plain and simple.. heck the guy likely to start at QB is a raw rookie who is being taught proper footwork right now. Yikes.
  21. Byrd is not elite. He is a very good player on a very bad team. It would be interesting if he was on a very good team, and being on a very good team is exactly what he is trying to do. Resigning with the Bills is a career death sentence for him. The Bills either give him $20m guaranteed or he will be gone. See: Andy Levitre. Franchising him will not help.
  22. I don't believe but 1 or 2 of these guys make it out of camp. These are not real NFL players for the most part.
  23. We are going to be so bad this year. Hope everyone is ready for an avalanche of penalties and turnovers this year. Growing pains. Not sure this fan base is ready for this...
  24. We'll see how frisky they are after Brady puts 21 on 'em in the first quarter like he always does.
