  1. [quote name='akm0404' timestamp='1287160046' post='2007962' In the callous world of the Internet, you'll hear "I wish Ralph would die". That should probably be translated in your head into, "I wish the Bills had a new, dynamic ownership that would breathe life into this stagnant franchise". Crass as it may be, if you are offended by this type of speech, you are playing with fire hanging out on message boards. Getting away with stealing because I can't see you stealing is still stealing. Using the excuse that the exact words some posters use are not what the poster means and saying it is because he is frustrated and on the internet, is comparable to that because he is anonymous, so we don't see who is doing the insulting. They are still saying those words (which mean what they mean BTW)and it is just wrong to do so. If you don't have the moral compass to see it. Well I wonder if you have a good idea what is right and what is wrong.
  2. The board was better having writers like JW Lori and TG contribute, saying well it is an internet message board and ppl are just rude on internet message boards does nothing to improve the board. I didn't always agree with what any of these 3 said but I enjoyed their insights and appreciated the contributions to the board that they made. Let's face it Lori can write and articulate her ideas very well. JW was a bit looser and did add some opinions that put him more in the crosshairs of some ppl. TG well he did have some inside sources to the Bills and had answers to questions that I appreciated and I know others did too, I am not happy to see this become more stupid like the Bills official board but it seems that is the direction it has been taking lately. I think that if public figures are going to come on here and add to our collective experience, we should be happy to have them and thankful for their participation. Sure you can debate and argue with someone on here and you can even have a bit of a nasty exchange in the heat of it. But to actually be rude even when you don't get the answer you were looking for or if you were just outwitted by the higher intellect,or by who has more information than you because you don't like to lose an debate in a public place is just stupid and really way too common of late. If we as posters on here don't treat each other with respect and like we would in person, because of this anonymity we all share. Then I could see how someone wouldn't want to deal with us esply when that person is known by us. BTW when idiots get put on my ignore list that is it, and usually they tend to be off the board in the next 10 to 15 days. It is a good feature. There is no sense in arguing with stupidity, stupidity just doesn't know how.
  3. Anyways please fix subject As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you. Oh and how is this about football? it needs to be in OTW.
  4. Freddy and CJ need to be our dynamic duo and I can see it happening if our LBs can ever step up enough to let Chan feel comfortable enough not to go to the pass so much.
  5. I think most of us thought it would be kind of bad, but not as bad as it is. Things will look up I think we will improve over the length of the season and a bit more so next year. Really the find out who Trent is thing cost us at least a game. I also think we have had some injury issues and no one worth a damn to back up on D. The LBs esply and the whole D is having issues getting used to the 34. This is not the season I envisioned nor did Buddy and Chan I am sure. I think one thing that has really hurt this year has been the schedule being the 3rd or 4th hardest in the league. I thought a few teams would be worse than they are not better this year. The Jets and NE being 2 I thought in PS we might win. But that is why they play the games. We have weakness number one on most teams now since our whole LBing group looks bad. We have and will really faced some good TEs and the run game is killing us too because of these guys mostly. It' hard to play D with a big gapping hole in the middle of your scheme. I think it is a good thing we are going to go 34 but man it is and will be ugly w/o the people to man some of those positions. I hope we get some good help in FA this year (there will be a nice crop because of the cba and how this past year was written up) and there should be plenty to choose from. Also rookie injuries have hurt. Not saying it couldn't have been a better start or make excuses but that all is a lot to deal with. The offensive side of the ball is doing better and should continue to improve. I will still watch, there are plenty of things to see. I have a high tolerance tho, I started liking the Bills in the 60s when they sucked big time and made it through that, albeit i was damaged good tho.
  6. if you are who I think you are happy bithday somewhat belated

  7. Or even hand off from the shotgun, I saw the Jags do it. I think our coaches the last few years, including Chan must think it is illegal or something. It is a good way to run a delay which would give spiller more time to find a hole.
  8. Tom Day was my music teacher in grammar school and I was scared stiff of him because he was so big (sorry that's all I remember).
  9. Die hard says he was on the Bills from 67 - 72 (I think it was) McDole was a bill from 63 - 1970 he played for Geo. "the time is now" Allen in Washington until 78. He was an Olier before Buffalo drafted in 61. 61-78 pretty long career for a DE. Interesting trivia about Ron: has the most interceptions by a lineman, with 12. Teammate Sonny Jurgensen gave him the nickname "The Dancing Bear" after showing off his moves at a Georgetown nightspot.
  10. I live in Thailand and really nobody knows anything about American football, much less the Bills. One thing about here tho it is like a very big insult to call someone a Buffalo (but in reality they are talking about water buffalos and usually they are saying he's stupid like a Buffalo). Last year my sister sent me a shirt that is for cheerios, which says my city smells like cheerios on the front and on the back it says born in Buffalo. No one can read it
  11. It is on this site didn't know I had to linky it. And wow Diehard is on a roll I so wish they would of had a championship game against GB Lou vs Vince
  12. here is a write up I found BTW I was an 8 year boy and there, all I remember is being crazy Two Bills Drive | Buffalo Bills Forums | SabreSpace | Buffalo Sabres Forums Home News & Opinion The Draft Schedule Fan Zone History Resources Buffalo Sabres About Us September 29, 1968: New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills Historical Game of the Week By Ken Crippen - Professional Football Researchers Association Published: December 9th, 2008 September 29, 1968 New York Jets 35 Buffalo Bills 37 On September 29, 1968, the Buffalo Bills took on the New York Jets. The Bills had yet to win a game at that point, while the Jets were undefeated. The Bills led 10-7 in the second quarter when the Jets recovered a Dan Darrah fumble deep in Buffalo territory. On the next play, Joe Namath attempted a pass to Curley Johnson, but it was intercepted by Tom Janik. “I was covering Curley Johnson all the way,” recalled Janik. “The ball was perfectly thrown. I hesitated for a split second, then stepped inside my man. All I saw was daylight.” Janik returned the interception 100 yards for a touchdown and the Bills were on top 17-7. The defense again stepped up. On Namath’s next pass attempt, he was intercepted by Butch Byrd, who also returned it for a touchdown. However, the Bills were called offsides and the score was taken off the board. A one-yard run by Emerson Boozer and a 55-yard pass from Namath to Don Maynard put the Jets on top 21-20 at the half. In an exciting fourth quarter, Butch Byrd and Booker Edgerson intercepted Namath passes a minute apart; both being returned for touchdowns. The Bills were on top 37-28. With slightly over one minute left in the game, the Jets were on the Buffalo ten-yard line. Namath dropped back to pass and hit George Sauer in the endzone to close the gap. Time ran out before the Jets could score again and Buffalo took the 37-35 victory. Buffalo would tie the Miami Dolphins a few weeks later, but would not win another game that disappointing 1968 season. Only two years removed from playing in the AFL Championship game, the Bills dropped hard. The Jets, however, would go on to beat the Raiders 27-23 in the 1968 AFL Championship game and on Namath’s bold prediction, they upset the Baltimore Colts 16-7 in Super Bowl III.
  13. You know anything about Ron McDole? Or 1960s football teams LOL this is almost tame.
  14. Fire Chan then every other coach you should be able willing and wanting to get says no way. You have even less creditability now and RW isn't going to do that anyway. How do these guys get paid to write this stuff?
  15. Nice write up, agree w/ you it would be good to see Troupe develop more and move Williams to DE. I thought Roscoe was the number 2 most the time IIRC it looked like Jackson was in the slot (I could be wrong tho). All of our receivers need to come back for the ball, I did like Evans did it a couple of times and the one catch he made on 3rd down was short so he had to, that would have been a first otherwise. I too want to see more Nelson. I would have loved to see Chan stick to the run and MAKE it work. The Bills needed the Jags game plan IMO. LOL you didn't mention Fitz's bounce pass but I thought he played well, even threw a block. He might be decent behind a good line. I would like us to go with him until the new franchise guy is properly developed unless some other FA very decent drops in our lap. I know it sounds crazy but, I half want them to try Maybin at TE and see if he can catch and run patterns, 2 birds w/ one stone (Jauron might have tried it), he has speed and athletic ability, who knows? We are probably stuck w/ him sitting for most the year anyway. The center of the line? don't know what is up with Wood? I hope he just is still working on strength. Hang would be worth finding competition for in the off season. Howard looks serviceable and is young was happy Green was "banged up" to see him in that tackle spot a bit.
  16. I really think that they could and should just hire they kids who play FB in the NCAA, the whole system needs to change, stop the scholarships and pay them outright. It has been and always will be a scam waiting to happen. It could be set up like hockey and just have a farm league under the NFL and a college system together. Hell if they did it internationally and put teams in sense-able places that might support American football global expansion would be much easier. I am thinking like Australia, NZ, Mexico, Canada, England and Germany any place that has a kind of football sport like Rugby or proximity to the US, should be considered for this kind of plan. The NFL is supporting the NCAA in this system as it is now to their own detriment. No one think creatively when there are static-quos and monopolies tho. As long as the laws in this country don't criminalize the NFL monopoly, we are held hostage and nothing changes it.
  17. They do that feature weekly it is a good site for fan analysis. They are very knowledgeable. Brain does a good job IMO. They won't drop Green tho unless they pick up some one else and I would guess they are looking. My guess is McCargo (being a number 3 might go b4 green), we don't have the numbers we need at Oline to release him yet.
  18. I pretty much agree with you (Maybin should be up to rush) but the formation the Bills are in is not a 34 in that picture it is a 4-2-5 and it would be right that he starts from a four point in that formation (he is actually a DE in that case). The Steelers are in a true 34 and yeah the OLBs are up in it.
  19. Thanks for the insight. I hope they are getting mad, I can tell they are frustrated.
  20. The stadium looked to be losing a lot of people by the end of the 3rd quarter and we were only down by 11, I thought to myself in years past they all stay until the end. The question is do the Bills resign him after or before 2011 (his contract will be up and he will be a FA in 12) is over. And if they do how big will his 2nd contract be? his details from roto world 8/5/2006: Signed a five-year, $29 million contract. The deal includes $13.5 million guaranteed. 2009: $2.355 million, 2010: $2.445 million, 2011: $1.95075 million (Voidable Year), 2012: Free Agent
  21. Good to see you posting again, 2 days in a row too. I disagreed somewhat with the other one (at least until a little later in the season) but this one I agree with. I have a question tho, isn't the draft after the lock out decision will be made? If he knows what is happening with it it would be a no-brainer to stay in school, if they strike. He also has said in the past he won't come out, I read on here somewhere b4 (so take it FWIW). I do have a question for you, if you don't mind: what was it like being on the 68-72 teams with all the losing so far as you and your teammates psyches? Is winning going to be harder if the record goes to 2-14 or something similar or will it make easier to step up when things get better?
  22. actually the two games I saw b4 these last two games (yes I have seen 4 jets games because they are a big market team and hence the 4 games a week you can see in Thailand on tv are always big market teams, esply the jets so far) Cromartie got owned.
  23. Jets suck go Giants!! (from a former NYer/Buffaloian)
  24. I really don't get this thread? How is this comparable except that we both got a 4th. And BTW Marshawn Lynch was gone at the end of THIS year http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/bills/2007-07-27-bills-sign-lynch_N.htm http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/05/pete-carroll-wont-waste-any-time-using-marshawn-lynch/
