  1. 3rd youngest team in the league @ # 30 30. Indianapolis Colts (average age) 25.14 http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/24828/age-rankings-for-every-nfl-team so much for that theory but nice try.
  2. It should be BPA, at team needs. That is how a team grades players, it is how BN has said in the past that it works for the Bills. It is still to early to pick out our pick in the draft IMO, I think it all depends on what all happens in the off season before the draft. I also think the Bills need more than one pass rusher, I hope they look at every option available, draft FA. CFL everything. They should also do this at LT,CB and TE. Those positions seem to be harder to find real talent at than WR to me. I also think they will draft a back up QB at some point, to develop (sort of like Levi Brown).
  3. The parts I bolded I kind of take exception to. The first: They didn't go 11-5 and it was not the GB Packers talent out there. Running the ball more often would give us a more balanced attack, he needed to make adjustments in games and during the season that he just didn't seem to be able to do. Even early on running Fred more was an option we just didn't use enough. The talent and the D, I agree are a large part of why it didn't happen. After teams had our attack figured out, running 5 wide and only having 6 to block gave other teams options on defense. Second: The blame does go on the coach when he can't/won't make adjustments. The 7 game losing streak was some of the worst football I have seen as a Bills fan and I have been one since the mid 60s. I do think he could be able to regain my trust, he has a uniqueness to his offensive philosophy. At times he needs to be open to trying other things like running until the other team takes away the run. Third: a bunch of the other things you have mentioned here I put on Fitz (and the coach for getting the most out of him)in case of the Oline. And Nix in the case of players going (such as Lynch and Lee) and bringing in the Oline and TE guys he did.It is all a work in progress and yes I have some hope for next year but they gotta do the work this off season too. Then I will feel better about it all.
  4. Go Jills!! (I missed this thread so, BUMP! maybe others did too).
  5. NeveroutNick is right of course, this team should realize it will be a marketing disaster to not sign Stevie. SJBF, 5+ you made sure of it.
  6. I honestly wouldn't mind signing him, if he does. Has a lot of Fitz like qualities including intelligence, might be a decent back up.
  7. Haha this thread is funny (because it soooooo aint going to happen)
  8. I can hear RW from here,"yeah now that's what I am talking about, a runner!"
  9. I still don't understand why many of the posters on here bother following the Bills, yeah they aint perfect. Yes it okay to criticize, and 12 years has been a stupidly long time BUT this stuff takes faith and maybe more importantly since the team was effed over so bad by some of the stupid moves that RW is utimitly responsible for it also takes time to do it right. I hope Whaley moves up if Nix goes, I DON'T want Polian's son effing around here. I like the job that Nix has done, Gailey a bit less so but they get at least through next year, it even takes time to judge the coaches and FO. They pretty much dumped a lot of the team and started over, these last 2 years and real development takes time. In my book they get it.
  10. I agree that they run block well and Fitz gets rid of it quickly, but they pass block for 2-3 seconds on many plays. But the fact is Fitz gets hit after throwing too much, in a thread on here before last weeks game someone posted the line was 26th or somewhere around that in the league at hits after the throw, I find that pretty reveling. It is my number one argument that he actually is decent at QB WHEN he has time. He never get 5 seconds, we need a OT or 2 IMO. Pears gets beat by fast outside guys and I have hope for Hairston and Bell (if he comes back) but wonder if either a a true answer at the position. The interior is mostly solid and has back ups. I really like Brown and wonder how he would do at OT. I know it takes Olines time playing together and getting used to eachother, so we do have that in our favor IMO. I also agree we need to draft pass rush high Oline if it is an OT should be high too. If Stevie is back we can get by with our group of receivers and shouldn't draft that position high. Health has a lot to do with my opinions, we really need to stay healthy next year. But one favorable thing about this year is that lots of back ups got some playing time and evaluation. 1.I agree with the impact players statement, OLB or DE if we go to an all 4/3 should be a giant priority. FA, the draft, hell even raiding CFL teams can and should be where this is done. 2. I don't think we should draft a WR that high unless it is a BPA situation. What we have is semi serviceable but my main thing is that Fitz needs more time, that is on the line and we should run more. At least part of the problem is lining up 5 wide w/o a back behind Fitz. They know he is passing and tee off, which we used as a strength at times but worked against us later when there were injuries and a lack of talent. 3.If it is 3/4 an end isn't really who should get to the qb (unless you have Bruce). Pressure yes. Kelsey and Johnson (in a 4/3) are both okay but we could use someone better of course. Edwards is good in the 3/4 alinement. Dareus and Kyle too, in both. 4.Agree see above 5. We should draft and groom a somewhat high draft guy that falls like NE* did this year. Fitz could be better if he has better around him and Chan stays with the run more. 6. I would do the same with TE as I said OLB above, get another so we have 2 good ones, copy the cheaters! draft a big fast one who can catch and block and use 2 TE sets (or bring in one in FA or even the CFLs best one) Pick up at least 2 and USE them. I hardly ever agree with you but THIS. 5 decent starters turnover (and I would hope 3 of them to be very good ones) in a year is certainly accomplishable, plus more depth. We have what, 10 draft choices? FA can be used, trading for players......even waivers and raiding practice squads, there are many ways to build a team. 5 holes is less than what we had last year by about 7 or 8 if you ask me. I didn't think we had any TEs, and no back up Olinemen going into this season (both can be better by off season moves still). I am okay with Nix and Gailey if they can get it right this off season, if they make new holes (Stevie and a few other FAs) and draft to fill them it will be the same old, same old though. I think the Nix part makes me happier than the Chan part as of now but really both need to make some serious adjustments going into next year. It is doable and I did like the direction the team was heading in, the collapse of course, has influenced my thinking. But lets get it done and GO BILLS.
  11. . ...um not right, I am 52 and didn't even have to register for the draft. I lived in Korea and now reside in Thailand and everyone has duty in both places. I wouldn't have liked growing up with that prospect to be honest.
  12. I wouldn't want him here with his son. BTW the Colts are not in any way shape or form an "old" team, actually they are one of the youngest in the league. Sure they lost Peyton and many many others to injuries this year, and that has been the excuse but there is more to it. Irsay just saved them from being very bad for a long time.
  13. I am happy they made the change, I hope DW keeps it fairly simple and has a different philosophy (which frankly IMO, is more important than scheme) than Edwards did. I thought they would do this and expected it but wasn't sure. (BTW this brings us one step closer to having Stash as HC ). Best of luck to George Edwards where ever you go now. My biggest concern is the hybrid seems very difficult to have the right personnel for as you need both OLBs and DEs who are decent to good. Not players who can do one or the other. Also I think Edwards only kept the right players and scheme on the field sometimes, he seemed to miss more often than not. The D front 7 and the Oline still need to keep building both in talent and depth. The person who brought up the simplicity thing is right, KISS and it will be better IMO. We also need Chan to go to run first, less readable offenses and this team might have a future (with these coaches and FO), I hope he adjusts and we get more talent in here to fit what they are building around. Go Bills!
  14. Both "finesse" teams with slews of injuries to their best players. I want speed and smashmouth. I like that they both are building with bigger guys. The results at this point not so much.
  15. Rob Johnson should set our QB position back the same way Mike Williams set back our Oline? Love the logic of that. As for the OG question of bringing Flynn in here, I would be in favor, it he fit whatever plan for the system. I hate to say it because I think Fitz is fairly decent, Fitz should have some competition at this point.
  16. Why did this thread get moved to OTW? It is about Bills football. BEERBALL?
  17. Well I'll up your 23 years by 2x and raise you a see ya. Enjoy the Broncos
  18. Yeah because blowing it up has worked so well up til now RW aint Jerry Jones, it aint happening.
  19. The PI should be limited, I agree but if the limit the yards, we won't see as many exciting (but cheap) game ending drives. Don't see it happening but it is not a fair rule IMO.
  20. I actually think this is a Nix strength, checking the tires on guys. I like that last year he found guys for our Oline and a contributing TE, that way. What is to complain about? Our previous FOs really never really found as many values this way.
  21. Wow Dick Drawn! you have any real proof, how did he not get busted? 30 year fan, boarder patrol let him pass? "Hey we need the defense guys, let's turn him loose". I hope he heals, I hope we draft or sign 2 more pass rushers. I hope Chan improves his game plans and we RUN the damned ball more and something needs to really come together on D. I hope we bring Stevie back and pick up a truly solid other WR option. I hope we get another OT, a TE and maybe a CB. That would be my list at the moment. A good back up QB might be a bonus too. I think we may be those players and positions close though.FA and the draft this year could be all it takes, fingers crossed. GO BILLS and Happy safe, wonderful new years to you all! Take care out there.
  22. Their Facebook pages don't have any posts on the walls (so they must of cleaned up and privatized that schit) and you can't see the photos. They both in total have less than 100 friends too. Not surprised. Wouldn't it be great to duct tape them for a month instead of taking this to trial? Just keep them in the holding cells and do what they did to the kids (and take the kids away, of course). Then let them out, "you lose your kids and how does it feel to be put through what you did to them?" That would be justice in my opinion. Happy New Years all have a safe and happy one.
  23. I'd agree with that AND having penalties review-able with the same rules as having plays review-able already in place. And before WEO weighs in with the who reviews the call to cancel the penalty, I say someone in the league booth or as Buffalo Barbarian suggested earlier in the thread: Having some transparency in place would make the league more credible and fans that much less to B word about in the fairness of the refereeing of games. Which is really what this whole issue is about in the first place. How many message boards have threads about refs losing the game for their team, after virtually every game, every week?
