  1. Kelsey wants a new contract extension in exchange for the number or he is releasing his pictures of Ralph to the press.
  2. Good topic and posts, agree all around.
  3. Or he likes the idea of being on a line with Darius, Williams and maybe Merriman
  4. I was hoping we would be in play for him last year (and we apparently weren't) so don't see this happening but sure wish it would. I will say it again: Chan should steal more of Belicheat's system. The 2 TE spread works in the pros better than 5 wide. With our running back tandem, using this is a no brainer. 2TE's with Fred next to Fitz and CJ in the slot. Really you don't need one more big receiver, Nelson and Stevie, good enough.
  5. Thanks for posting that I wondered if the roll over was included. They have enough to do a few things. And this is one I would like quite a lot!
  6. I like that idea too.CB: Corey Graham < like this mention, good player (dump Brad Smith lol)
  7. Buddy has impressed me so far and we are not even into FA yet. Good offseason moves all around. Remember when we never had any consistency in our O-line, these guys will be better for this and actually the injuries although sad and crappy for us last year did give a lot of players some playing time together. I am just remembering the talk on this board a few years ago about the line having time to really gel. Depth is important and I am happy to see us building on it. I see these 3 getting offers from us (whether they stay ???)
  8. As far as I can tell that is before the roll over money is applied (anybody know if I am right about that) I think we are in good position to spend on either MW or VJ and sign our guys up this year and try to get Fred, Levitre and Urbik to sign for next year and still have a bit to spend on a couple of others. As I see it, it is more about how the contracts are structured with the new rules and CBA (which has rookies against the wall more IMO). Watch and see this year the Bills make a FA splash. If they really feel the team is close they will try to add the missing parts (I don't really see it as FO or coaching jobs being on the line, just yet).
  9. I sort of disagree, we can sign a couple of good players in FA (and we would be crazy not to try to Make Williams one of them). IMO it has a lot more to do with how the contacts are structured, when you are playing with somewhere around 30 million but good read anyhow. I like reading Barnwell, good writer http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/19276/why-are-nfl-teams-afraid-of-the-dark Interesting read as well.
  10. We can sign Williams and still get a couple of decent FAs, so I don't get the poll exactly. We can't have VJ an MW but we can have one and more. BTW I say go for Williams. The D is instantly impressive and tough, the O already is okay and sometimes very okay.
  11. Well I am 52 and seeing that the soon to be mother of my son is 31, I have no problem with this thread .
  12. So an unproven rookie is better than Fred wa last year before the injury? sure...... wasn't Spiller supposed to be that 2 years ago? How do you mean help? you can only double team so many guys, KW, Darius and Osi would be pretty sweet (although I am not in favor of this trade idea).
  13. I was going to say this! (BTW I still think Buddy won't do it, although never say never) Also BTW at the Seahawks spot Hightower is a good value (this comment esply for BillNYC)
  14. I like Fred too much to do this. I understand the "it's a business and all that but you keep your best players, period. Which I also think is why the giants wouldn't do this if we did propose it anyway. They will find a way not to lose Osi.
  15. Are you guys talking about Lou's quote? Because Hank just stole that for his HOF speech "As I matriculate my way down the field of life, I will never forget this moment and you wonderful people who helped make this day possible." (Hank Stram Quote) Lou's quote see below
  16. I don't know that Clark would be a great pick up but I do think having two legit TEs would be a great idea and we should try to have that. Look at it this way, you have 3 wide (SJ, Nelson and CJ and/or new FA) 2 TEs and Fred or CJ behind Fitz. The running game and passing both are more effective and the scheme is more flexible than the normal spread (you do remember the Kgun? with Thurman 2 W/Os and 2 TEs, Beliache is just making a variation on that). The spread is a college set and this variation of it is NFL tried and true. It just causes all sort of problems and with the right talent is devastating, we could also use hurry up more effectively. I really advocated doing this last year when there were some good FA TEs out there. I still think it would be a great idea. What D do you use? Play action and longer developing plays become a true threat w/o any o-line upgrades. NE* and Bellycheat are very smart and we should copy it. And those saying they didn't win the SB last year, at least they got to it. The D is their problem not the offence.
  17. He is smart to test FA and the Bills will try to match if it is reasonable. The injury proneness is something that takes up roster space and development from other players. I like him and hope he stays but I think I will trust whatever Buddy does at this point. I would like some consistency as well on the line for a change. If we lose him we have to draft one high, which we should do anyway. The thing that bothers me most about prior FOs is I never trusted that to happen. Look at the Jason Peters mess, taken years to fix that (along with our RT up and retiring almost simultaneously) and that is a franchise and QB killer.
  18. In other words a Buddy type player, I don't know if he is a reach or not but I think we well pass on him for some reason (just a feeling) and hope he is there (which he won't be) in the 2nd. I saw him play/line up @ DE a few times in Bama's D in the bowl game and that was why I said the comment about him playing there earlier in the thread (which someone questioned). He was a dominating force in that game and I liked him much better than Upshaw in both of the Bama games I saw last year. If Buddy thinks he is good for the 10th pick, I would be supportive of it. I also want an LT, not so sure those are 2nd round picks this year. IMO they should throw Colin Brown out to LT for back up if Bell signs along with Hairston. I think he is a mauler and like him at RT (back up too) maybe even better. In anycase he is worth development (outside the center of the line).
  19. I like Hightower as a DE, so I think it has to be a 2nd round choice (if the FO is thinking of taking him that is), I don't really expect he will last until then. I think Upshaw is good too and he forsure isn't going to last until then. I wish we could draft them both. I have a bad feeling BINYC that your worst nightmare is going to happen in this draft and the Bills will draft a CB at number 10 (which I am not exactly crazy about either). It is just a feeling I have (with the probable BPAs available when I work out a draft). It all depends on FA though. So I will not pin it down in a thread yet. I would almost be willing to use a 10 on him but I am not sure the FO will. I really think if Bell signs or not they will go LT or CB (at this point based on ratings of what is out there).
