  1. Please, that's all we need is to base another season off an unproven back up. Fitz earned his spot last year, he worked hard over the off season to get ready for this year, give the guy his shot. This is his year, if he produces then we hold on to him as our number one, if not there's a pool of first round level QBs coming up in next year's draft. Chances are we won't have a shot at Luck, but we will have a chance at Jones, Lindley, Tannehill or Barkley who all have tremendous up side. Time to put up or shut up, no more back ups with "an up side".
  2. Well he is going on 93... so that is entirely possible. When the bidding war for the Bills comes after his death, let's hope the Pegula Jet gets fired up and flies down to Orchard Park and saves the franchise. Sorry, just day dreaming...
  3. I'm willing to be they'll bring in someone. They were stressing the lack of depth on the O Line BEFORE this game. Any person with the title of GM would at least look to bring someone new in.
  4. Either move Wood back to Guard or (if he's actually played as well as Gailey has bee saying) put Rinehart ar LG. This way it's: Bell-Levitre-Wood-Rinehart-Pears or Bell-Levitre-Hangartner-Wood-Pears. Basically what we had last year that at least gave Fitz time enough to put up the numbers he did. I would hope Nix goes out and signs someone this week, but since that's not his way of operating, like it or not, I'm being realistic. We'll have to live or die with Pears I guess, hasn't looked great thus far, but there's still time.
  5. Seeing that there's no type of game planning on either side, my thoughts on this team hasn't changed. I think they're a below .500 team (obviously), probably 6-10, 7-9, 8-8 at best. All I know is unless Fitz puts up 30 TDs this season, which at this point seems highly unlikely, we'll be in the market for a QB next year and luckily for us, next year's draft seems stocked with first round level QBs. Even if we pick in the area of the 8-15 spots in the draft we may be able to land our guy (Jones, Lindley, Barkley, Tannehill, assuming Luck goes number one overall). But in the mean time, let's focus on next week. I would like to see Rinehart move in at Urbik's spot. If Gailey has been honest about his game the last few weeks then I'm sure he can do a better job than Urbik is doing right now. As for Pears, don't know what to say about him as of right now. IMO he has one more game to prove himself, because I doubt anyone one in their right mind would head into the regular season with a starting tackle playing like that. Bell had a bad game, no denying that. But We've seen him play well in actual regular season games. He'll do for now IMHO. Lastly on a more negative note, Spiller cannot block for his life. Just one of many things he's failed to do thus far in his career. Fred Jackson as of right now has him beat in every area of the game.
  6. I understand that the offensive line played bad. No excuses for that. Maybe we'll sign a veteran to take Pears' spot and move Hangartner back to center, Wood back to guard. But my point is the pre season can be very deceiving. Never get too high, very get too low.
  7. We go from posts like "We have a top 15 defense" to "We lead the Luck sweepstakes" in a matter of hours. If they rebound next week then a ton of you will again be back on the bandwagon. You People need to learn that you can never get too high or too low in the pre season. Their performance wasn't promising, but nothing to judge the season on.
  8. It's one pre season game, get over it. I hope the team doesn't think like some of you or else we're in for a long season. Horrible effort, I'm sure they'll admit it, but hopefully they step it up next week.
  9. I cut them slack for last week's offense because it was there first time out there, but there really isn't any excuse for tonight. They look significantly worse than they dd last week, even with an extra 5 days of practice.
  10. Chan's got some s'plaining to do! And Nix for that matter.
  11. I just don't understand the Macus Easley hype. Sure, let's trade Lee Evans and replace him with an ex-undrafted rookie, an injury prone, hands of stone receiver (Easley), Nelson who they don't even throw to and former first rond bust that hasn't seen the field for us yet.
  12. Starters better be back out there.
  13. 2009: "I'm not a Bills fan, I'm the Quarterback."
  14. Unless they intend on cutting Brad Smith, which they won't do, Pryor is not going to be a Bill.
  15. 8-8 at best. But there's no denying with the additions of Dareus, Barnett, Merriman, A Williams, (hopefully Sheppard), the possible rise of players like Carrington and Batten and the arrival of Wanny that this defense will keep us in more games. Not to mention an offense that was manageable last year.
  16. What I'll be watching for/ hoping to see: 1. Batten at OLB- I'd love to see him get another sack, but I want to see how he does against the run as well on the first team (in place for Merriman tonight). Kelsay's hearing footsteps. 2. Rhinehart mixing in the first team- Obviously has the size, but then again so does Urbik/Pears, and they haven't been very promising yet. 3. Carrington in 3rd down pass rushing situations- Heard a lot of good things about him not to mention he performed well last week. Definitely a lot of potential with this guy, but he needs to keep it up. 4. Barnett- Like to see him get some more time. Very quite against Chicago, not worried about him just like to see him make some plays. 5. Gailey's plans for Fitz/Thigpen- See if the spread it out a little more than last week now that they've had an extra week of practice. I'm almost positive they will. 6. CJ- Just give him more touches. Bottom line. 7. Easley/Jones/Roosevelt/Aiken?- Someone needs to step up as the number 2 guy. Gailey sees Nelson as more of a slot guy, just want to see someone be a reliable target, and that starts tonight. 8. Heard vs. Jasper- I'm assuming they take 3 DT on the roster. With Williams and Troup locked in, these guys are going to have to battle it out. 9. Chandler- He's basically the number one guy. Nelson "hurt", but it just seems like he could care less and that Gailey has just totally given up on him. I want to see Chandler continually improving. 10. Dareus- And lastly, the big man. He promised revenge on the Broncos for not taking him second overall, if he doesn't get it done tonight he'll have to wait until christmas eve at the Ralph.
  17. No he was busy killing his 8 year old daughter with his car.
  18. Would it be out of the question to take 7 WR on the roster? 1. Stevie 2. Jones 3. Nelson 4. Roosevelt 5. Parrish 6. Easley 7. Housh (Brad Smith on the depth chart as the third QB). That doesn't seem out of the question.
  19. I have no problem with this. The lack of experience in our WR core scares me a little. Can't hurt.
  20. Wow, usually that website is very anti Bills. 9-7 is a more optimistic prediction than I made, and I consider myself to be a glass half full guy.
  21. There were no charges against him, routine stoppage.
  22. @shawnemerriman To answer your question guys im disappointed by a story that was written by a Buffalo writer regarding a routine stop at the Canadian border a few weeks ago. To clarify, there was There was what??? EDIT: @shawnemerriman Absolutely NO steroids found in my vehicle & there were NO charges against me. I've received a great welcome by the community and fans. I've worked my butt off to have a great season.
  23. Okay maybe he did get pulled over, doesn't mean there was necessarily a banned substance in his car. Especially if this happened weeks ago.
  24. I hope when Merriman finds out about these false allegations against him, he finds Pat Moran in whatever basement he's hiding out at, sacks him, and does the sack dance in front of his 8 year old daughter.
