  1. What incentive would he have to come here and leave his current job other than he played here?
  2. First of all, in what way is Cleveland a more attractive offer for Marrone? Why even worry about it. Secondly, why couldn't we look into Lovie Smith as our DC? If Cleveland and AZ both pass on him, he can either be a coordinator or go to the college game. Why not go to Buffalo who runs a 43 and has some talent in place (at least on paper).
  3. Wisenhunt's coaching career was impressive up until the last threes years. It just stops. But before that he launched the steelers of this decade and took another team to a Super Bowl. So as much as he's failed recently, I'm not totally opposed; however I'd much rather have Lovie or Kelly.
  4. How is that going to "blow my mind" to a point where it "can't be unblown" -Bulldog
  5. WOOOOOOO that'll get me to buy tickets for next year!
  6. I'd love it. Runs a 43 so there'd be no schematic changes. Players love him. Has actually won before unlike many of our prior coaches. As long as he gets a good OC to work along side him with play calling duties I'm all in for next year.
  7. I want Lovie with the caveat that he is given a well respected OC and Joe D'Alessandris is kept.
  8. It's just an interview. Let's not jump to conclusions.
  9. I feel like if Nix were safe he'd make a statement about Gailey already. I feel like he has or will be fired because of that. What's the delay for then? Any GM that just made such big move for his team would usually address the matter immediately or relatively quickly. But going on four hours later? Also, I want Nix fired but I don't think now is the time. He's been scouting for months. If you fire him, you better make sure you replace him with a guy who has scouted college QBs as much as he probably has over the last few months (basically they'd need to look towards personnel guys from a team like Philly rather than Atlanta).
  10. The whole staff being fired doesn't surprise anyone. How could you sell this team to a coach when Dave Wannestdt is still the DC or Curtis Modkins is still the OC? Although I wish D'Alessandris would come back. That guy rocks.
  11. Doubt it. He's failed as a HC before, and I'm willing to bet he'd turn out more like a Mike Mularkey than a Pete Carroll. They need to sell tickets, bringing in a former failure wont help.
  12. I really like the idea of Roman (and if he's the man I'd just like to say I liked this idea a while ago). He'd be able to take CJ Spiller, put him into the kind of run based offense he ran in SF and make him a superstar. Also, wouldn't rule out Alex Smith if he's our man.
  13. I won't hate Gailey the way I hated Mularkey, Jauron or Williams. Not really sure why. Maybe it was the way he came in and how he conducted himself originally? But in the past year he's fallen off tremendously.
  14. Nix???? I feel like if he got fired too they would announce them together? Am I wrong?
  15. Whats the sudden fascination with Lovie Smith?
  16. No surprise there, let's wait and see if anything else comes to pass.
  17. Look like many of you I won't buy into this just yet until I see a legitimate source. But with every passing year the possibility of something like this goes up just that much more. It might be long overdue but maybe Ralph, at the age of 94, finally realizes the only way to alter the course of this franchise (for the better) is to sell the team.
  18. It's not like Kelly has the money either. They both would be minority owners, that's not the ridiculous thing about this story.
  19. I'll break down and cry of Kelly buys the team tomorrow or anyone for that matter! It would be one of thee best days of my life
  20. My madden like plan would be to hire Greg Roman and trade for Alex Smith. This way we don't get our franchise guy but we at least get a guy who will be in a system familiar to him. But in terms of the draft I like Mike Glennon or Tyler Wilson. I've heard Tyler Brey is a head case, Barkley has sucked, Geno has tailed off and Landry Jones fell off the face of the earth. But we have a whole off season to go
  21. Quick question, not trying to make any debate of this: do fired coaches get press conferences? Chan is on at 3 tomorrow officially, does that imply anything further about his future? I'm confident that he'll be fired as many of you are, but I'll still be be nervous until it happens.
  22. Noooooooooooo give me a break! We deserve to lose when we ask for it.
  23. Of course we win the one game I want them to lose, typical. And yes, I am trying to jinx them by saying that so early.
  24. Brent Grimes would take some cash but I think if we're willing to spend some money again this offseason that would be the best option. We need a veteran presence to match Gilmore's inexperience (and I don't mean that to downplay Gilmore, he's just young). Although we need a legitimately talented veteran, and not a Drayton Florence. Someone that can give us more than a year or two of solid play. Bring in a guy like Grimes on a 4 year deal and we're set at CB for a while. Bowe is a pipe dream, let's be honest. And I'd rather have a guy that would compliment Stevie rather than take targets away from him. What we could really use is an Amendola type guy or a guy who plays a simliar role (catches everything thrown to him, has speed, etc.). I'm tired of dropped balls (ala TJ Graham, Donald Jones). That's why I love David Nelson and hope they bring him back on a nice contract; the dude catches everything thrown to him and he holds onto the ball. He won't burn you or muscle his way past you but he'll get open enough so that he can get a hand on the ball and bring it in.
  25. The Jets screwed over the guy's career. I know most teams (maybe other than Jax) would not have given him a chance to start but for the Jets to acquire him simply to draw attention away from the Giants and make him the punt coverage ace? Where does his career go from here?
