  1. Yes, the Bills are only committed to selling tickets with winning a secondary consideration and the sooner the paying folks realize that, maybe the sooner that the fans might be able to hold the Bills to a higher standard. The Browns are another team like the Bills and look at what they are doing: They are basically flushing this season down the drain and instead of paying Brady Quinn with clauses that kick in based on playing time, are going to stick with Derek Anderson who is just unbelievably bad. The Bills look like a shell of an NFL team right now; a collection of rookies and bench sitters coached by a lame figure head and are to the point where people off the street will have to be given free tickets and free parking just to put fans in the stands for the Toronto game.
  2. Yes and by late August all of the tickets have been sold so the Bills went ahead with their Plan A foolishness with little regard for Plan B (sign some experience) - if the season tanked.
  3. Yes, Bill’s fans - we were in shock (as probably was Trent Edwards) to learn that this year we would be starting an OL with little or no NFL game experience. We were in denial that this season would be another 7-9 (or worse) year. We were angry as fans that we have done our part by selling out the stadium, buying into the Bill’s marketing hoopla, only to suffer through more horrible performances. But alas, as we walked out of the stadium yesterday, we started to accept the fact that until there is a change in ownership/personnel, this is one ticket not worth buying.
  4. Who is funding the new stadium? Not California taxpayers, their government is in worse shape than WNY. Anyway Jacksonville will move to Orlando and become the Disney Jags.
  5. So 8 & 8, when are the Bills ever going to reach 8-8? With improved OL play and a change in QB, what are the odds of reaching .500 this year?
  6. As we go into week 6 of this NFL 2009 season, does anyone really know who these 2009 Buffalo Bills are and what they are capable of? Going in to last week’s game against the Jets and starting three OL rookies, the Bills were understandably big underdogs. Yet, whether by chance or a fine defensive effort coupled with a stabile presence at QB, the Bills came up with a win. Going into this week, playing at Carolina, the Bills are underdogs again. The Panthers are fresh off a two game win streak after starting the season 0-3 and have a powerful run game (8th in NFL). The Bills are currently last in run defense in the league (Carolina is close behind at 29th). Since both teams have stout pass defenses, this game looks like it might be a run fest. The big question for the Bills is: will their passing game be any better with a change in QB? And going into the rest of the 2009 schedule, will the youngest starting OL gain the experience and confidence to emerge as a force against the remaining opponents?
  7. The Bills lease will be up in just a couple of years and any new lease deal will likely require some taxpayer-funded renovations. Will WNY be willing to come up with two thirds of the cost? If not, will the new owner(s) look elsewhere for state/local money or low interest loans? Taxpayer money won’t likely come from cash strapped LA. The Vikings are in the same boat stadium-wise and it could be that the Jags might soon play in Orlando.
  8. There are extremists on both sides it seems, but what does this have to do with football in WNY? If you don't like how one side is doing things, you will have a chance to vote again. But when the Bills lease is up in a couple of years and we need someone to go to bat for us to keep the Bills happy enough to stay here, that person will probably be Chuck Schumer.
  9. The crazy thing is that we had a pro-bowl LT. Now whether he crapped the bed and did not want to play, had too greedy of an agent or just got lazy, the Bills could have addressed this issue early and often - if the all important LT position was of any importance to them. Rather it seems that selling tickets is paramount - as evidenced in the fact that they hired a marketing guy, not a football guy for GM. The Bills need to pull Trent Edwards and insert Ryan Fitzpatrick. This will happen sooner or later anyway with the number of time TE is being sacked so why not put him in before TE ends up on IR and would not be available in case something happens to Fitz.
  10. Everyone in WNY is already part owner of the Bills (like it or not) with the Bills being subsidized with taxpayer money. The Bill's stadium lease is up in like two years, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
  11. Some people think we should never sign a California QB, but unfortunately there isn't always a swaggering 6'4" stud QB from Pennsylvania waiting for you on draft day. TE had the ringing endorsement of Bill Walsh, but even he could be wrong? Look at Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell. Above average college QBs having a hard time in the Pros. In fact, there are quite a few QBs that just couldn't make it for one reason or another. Some of the notables: Ryan Leaf Todd Marinovich Andre Ware Akili Smith
  12. If you watched the replays from Sunday, both Romo and McNabb are not afraid to throw into coverage. They just seem to be super confident in their ability to put the ball where his WR can make a play. Not sure if Edwards has any confidence going for him right now...
  13. I actually liked JP somewhat (with the long ball) and it wasn't until he had 3 turnovers against NE at home that I started not liking him.
  14. yep, I guess Buggs made my list, but not the Bills yet. You are right, what does being a starter mean anyway when you are on the Bills? Jonathan Scott (dropped from the Lions?)? Marcus Buggs (your prototypical MLB )? Anyway, IR is nothing new to the Bills. Maybe that is why they like to carry so many DBs.
  15. Walker gets fired a week before the season starts and rookies Wood and Levitre get thrown right into the fire. Would Scott and Bell start on any other NFL team? Yep, it can't be the line play with all the experience these guys have.
  16. right, I guess when one starter goes down and another player starts, he is not a starter. Didn't Buggs go on IR?
  17. TE had a couple of good games last year and almost threw for 300 yards when Buffalo beat Kansas City last year 54-31. The 0-5 Chiefs are on the schedule again, but it might be a closer game this time around. BTW - The Bills have 5 starters on IR already. Kawika Mitchell Brad Butler John DiGiorgio Leodis McKelvin Derek Schouman
  18. There is only one OL member (Hangartner) that has any real NFL experience on the Bills. Not sure how Rodgers or Roethlisberger would play behind this line, but it is clear that TE could have his roughest season yet.
  19. after many people were saying we needed to take the heat off of Evans, finally RW said that was needed and viola out comes the $7 million to sign TO. So if he is willing to spend that much on a WR, someone needs to convince him that he needs to do the same thing for a proven GM/HC.
  20. Why not see what Fitzpatrick has - and if he can be any faster and more accurate finding Evans and Owens?
  21. You take a good college QB draft him on a crappy team, throw him millions of dollars with someone like Eugene Parker at his side and when it is all said and done, it might be hit or miss if the kid will keep his head on straight and succeed. Maybe a rookie salary cap is not a bad idea.
  22. yep let's schedule the ceremony when we play the Browns because we should have them routed by halftime.
  23. Two good backs cannot make up for an inexperienced OL and a shell-shocked QB.
  24. Wait, how is Evans ever going to get open (like everyone said he would) without TO on the other side? TO was the answer to everything - right? But that was probably before the OL was jettisoned
  25. With 7 regular starters injured, how many inexperienced starters thrown in the fire does that make?
