I thought Ashlee Palmer looked solid too. He took on blocks, stayed free, knew what his job was, pursued, and showed good tackling ability.

I got the same old feeling watching the bills, even in this preseason game. Running up the middle in a passing formation out of singleback with zone blocking with lynch, whom we know doesnt have the best vision. Relying on 230lb tight ends to block 280lb defenders. Playing soft cover 2 in a goal line situation. Lining up in that same old effing two backs formation and running off tackle. Yeah, it was preseason, but i still could guess every play. Special teams looked solid. Everyone did their job. I think the story is that Xavier Oman is bigger, stronger, faster, and more confident than he was last year. He is the most powerful back on this team.

Ellison runs from fullbacks and big running backs. I literally have seen him run the other way instead of step up in the hole and take on a fullback. He is a coward, or incapable of performing the duties of his position. I wouldnt have a loser like that in my locker room.

Kosar was one of the best players of his era. He played several seasons seriously injured and was hampered by martyball, a poor supporting cast, and Belicheks ineptitude at coaching offenses early in his career. Testaverde was awful as a replacement for Kosar. Bernie could put touch on deep passes like few other QBs in the nfl, and he threw very few interceptions during his career.

It will be apparent on the field whether the team is playing courageously or not. Interviews and the like are just fluff. Playing hard and being in shape is not too much to expect. We have millions of guys working in factories, soldiers and amateur athletes working hard for a lot less. Football isnt easy, but it isnt storming the beaches of Normandy. He gets them into a nice, private place with as much furniture as possible that they can quickly sell and works with the team to hook them up with lawn service, snowplowing, whatever.
