Fair enough. I got one for you now. If you were to take Hardy and put him in the middle, up against a LB, would he be out prooducing S Johnson? Wasn't Reed lining up on the outside anyway on many plays?

I noticed something a few weeks back. I cannot remember the exact game, but it was definetly after Reed was injured. Hardy ran a drag route from the left wideout, and Trent through the ball behind him. Either Edwards miss threw the ball, or Hardy miss timed the route. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to Edwards. Parish relys on his quick separation, and if he moves slowly is easily neutrilized with a bump at the line. Hardy does not seem to have the patience as of yet, and if Evans is the primary receiver he is the first look(obviously) or he is running dummy routes to open the middle and intermediate routes for the other receivers. Seems to me that Reed is the only receiver on the team that can be used as a saftey valve, because a) he is big/strong enough to fight through a bump at the LOS and b) is where he is supposed to be when Edwards goes through his progressions and is looking for a saftey valve. This might be the reason that Johnson was successful on Monday night. Remember Hardy was a primary receiver in college, while Johnson was not, making Hardy's job of being a security blanket an entirely new skill he needs to aquire. When Reed comes back, I am sure Edwards will look and feel a lot more comfortable, and not be forced to utlize his backs as much, allowing the same backs to stay in for protection, helping give Edwards more time to throw, and if they still drop 7/8 in coverage Lynch or Jackson can slip out and be an extra valve. We all saw how dangerous they can be in the open field.

I thought it was funny, only not funny haha, but funny faux pas. Wow, I almost cracked a smile at my awful attempt at levity. Three seperate people already have asked me why so serious, and I am getting more and more bitter as the day goes by. I can't wait for one of these Pats fans to say something, I just might flip.

I live in Boston, and this kid I work with kept talking trash about JP whenever I brought up anything positive about the Bills (I don't get the relevance either). Anyway, I explained that we really did not know what could have been because JP got cheap shotted by Wilfork. He staunchly supported Vinny numerous times, even after I showed him the YouTube clip, saying that he put his arm out to brace himself, and hit him in the leg in the process. He stumbled around a bit when I replayed the play about 4 times, telling him he accidentally fell right into his knee? Well the very next day Wilfork admits it! Now if only we can win next week and I can really shut him up.

Pointing to the sky, is not preachy, and looks decently cool. Saying thank god or praise to jesus or whatever is preachy. It serves no purpose other than an ego trip(letting others know what kind of man he is) or trying to convert others. Count me in as someone who can't stand when athletes do that. Does that make them worse players in my mind? Of course not, but I do roll my eyes when I hear it.

Yea, I'm seeing Trey in Boston, which just became a whole whole lot more interesting(I was quite quite pumped to begin with). I hope they come and play Boston so bad when they announce more tour dates. Not the damn Comcast Center either. They need to rock out the TDBanknorth!

Another reason to defer to the second half is that you can start your base defense; most likely your best. Also, if you get a three and out you are automatically winning the field position battle(if you cover the kick well), and it is much harder to convert a third and long than a third and short, and it is much more difficult to run the ball early when the defense is fresh making third and long more likely. A long sustained drive to start the second half should be easier, because running should be easier(unless you are going against the Bills defense) and is much more important since it will wear a team out for the fourth quarter. Could it explain the 45-10 edge in the fourth? Probably not, but certainly might be a contributing factor.

I might be completely wrong, but wouldn't stock prices have been at a bubble a bit with investors speculating that the bill would pass, and when it didn't they cut their losses? How much is the market down compared to last week? Sure they are down, but the 1 trillion number may be a bit short term? Again I could be totally wrong.

Yea, I saw it when it happened, and at first I was hoping he was going to be ok, and how he wanted the contract extension, and made Peters' holdout a bit more palatable (except for the whole 3 years left thing). Then I got pissed! Why the hell are they trying to score there? The best that happens is they get a touchdown, so what? The worst...well we basically saw it. Hearing that he is alright is a very good thing, and I hope the Cardinals coach has to answer a lot of questions about that decision; he put 22 players in totally unnecessary risk, just plain dumb.

The Bills never trailed in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys game until there was not time left. The Bills offense, IIRC, never got the ball back in the fourth quarter while trailing, and therefore doesn't count as a loss in terms of this study. What if they did get the ball back with I don't know thirty seconds left, and had to start on the 15 or something. Is that considered a failed comback attempt? That would hardly be fair.

I really like Trent Dilfer as an analyst. He really seems to know what he is talking about. I heard him on Mike and Mike a bit back, and he really seems to have a very deep understanding not only of what it is like to play(obviously), but he also has great insight into the intricacies of what makes particular teams good. However, the best part about him is the way that he is able to express his opinions not only coherently, but also in a manner that speaks to the common fan. He is like a very knowledgeable friend. *Lovemode over*

Man I hope that they do it against the Jets, and the Jets game gets moved to Sunday night, just so I can hear Madden try and announce that. Just thinking about all the things he might say are crackin me up right now; "Ya see he's laying down like he's taking a nap or something, then all of a sudden, boom there he goes." Drawing zzzz's over Jackson's head or something. And you know Favre's face would be super classic. This needs to happen!

Yea going along with what others have alluded to, I think that they may have been trying to get Jacksonville to kick it where they didn't think anybody was in order to keep it away from McGee. Then all of a sudden another player pops up, and returns it when the kicking team was not expecting a return, or at least a return from a competent return man.

I think they called him in the grasp before Stroud hit him. The replay looked like Youboty had him by the legs, and the official was waving the play down before he got any help.

Come on, Allen had this really cool headbandy thing on, did anyone else see it???? It was soo cool, I think he was auditioning for "A Chorus Line." Can't you just see him wasted driving around singing "I hope I get it?" That headband alone is worth like a fifth round pick. The possibility of him taking a mug shot with it on, priceless.

Some players are better coming in off the bench even if they play the same number of minutes as the starter (Manu for example). Maybe this is the thinking, especially since a high energy, high effort guy may wear out the defense early, and allow the rest of the rotation to be more effective late.

True, but it could also mean that the teams with those players on their roster are excellent talent evaluators (or just lucky) and that could translate into a better roster all around. Notice I didn't say draft choices, but players on the roster, because as we all know you don't have to draft a player....Yes I am using a bit of hopeful logic to associate the Bills FO to greatness!! Of course you do need to pay your player....but your players also need show they want to get paid, what a mess.
