  1. just what we need - another highly disciplined and motivated player from the Mack Brown system
  2. of course we can the Bills history of drafting OL in the last 15 years is outstanding. and if that does not work, John Guy can always bring in some of his crackerjack free agent OL candidates - that route has also worked out splendidly in the past To this organization, it would be worth it to pay twice whatever Peters wants - since the Bills are so savvy at finding good OL replacements.
  3. in general, they suck the Big 10 is vastly overrated the players are slow compared to the power conferences - thus their "stars" put up good stats against inferior competition. Those "stars" are exposed when they get to the NFL Maybin should have a great 1st step since he played at 237. That's like blitzing the SS and being amazed by the way he got around the OT. Too bad teams don;t pass on every down - then the inability to stop the run wouldn't be an issue
  4. sure - if they count the yards he puts up in the prison league
  5. late 1st round picks turn into crap shoot players - like McCargo especially when the pcks are made by our crackerjack talent evaluators they lucked into a Pro Bowl LT (after cutting him) --just extend the guy
  6. he's not a high motor white guy
  7. of course it's not Modrak's fault nothing ever is that's the beauty of the "team" concept the way the Bills operate - no one is accountable that's why he turned down the GM job However, he's been the head of college scouting since 2001 and the team has continued to fail to produce impact players from the draft- especially on the OL.
  8. teams will defense the Bills the way they have done for the last decade pressure the middle of the OL to disrupt the timing of the offense and stuff the run with a backup C and nobodies at LG- teams will test the Bills early and often by attacking the middle. last year, the Bills were able to control the jail breaks - but they may not be as successful in 2009 with lesser talent.
  9. most teams not the Bills Tom Modrak thought Fat Mike Williams would "grow" out of those issues I guess he was right
  10. if we had a front office that could find and evaluate talent and turn those picks into star playmakers- then it may make sense but when for 10 years the same talent evaluators have continuously blown and wasted premium picks, why would you give up a sure thing in Peters for multiple chances to screw the pooch? more picks like Hardy, POZ, McCargo, etc I'll take my chances with Peters
  11. none of those 3 1st round picks are high enough to bring the Bills impact playmakers
  12. you are correct. as usual, the Bills OL will be a sieve. they cut Dockery who was serviceable but overpaid -- so what - who else were they going to pay? there is no one available better than Dockery Simmons has a blown out Achilles - to rely on him as your answer at LG is high risk. They will pay the same they would have paid Dockery in 2009 but get a guy that can't play anymore Hangartner is a backup who was let go because he is not good on a good line. He will start for the Bills because their OL is bad. TO will be wasted as Trent runs for his life and that's assuming they actually extend Peters before the draft. More likely they will demand he shows up at camp before they seriously negotiate. If not, they will need to start some other scrub at LT
  13. yeah- teams only pass rush from the outside - I forgot Guess you have not watched much Bills football. up the gut is the shortest route to the QB and has been a major problem for the Bills before they got Dockery expect more jail breaks with a journeyman C and a scrub at LG
  14. At least there are enough players to actually field a DL - not so much with the OL hope TO likes a lot of dump offs from a QB running for his life
  15. what is the infatuation with Pettigrew? everyone wants a TE to open up the passing game a guy that runs slower than your OL is not going to create any mismatches in the secondary. draft Ingram - a big tall TE with speed and athleticsm
  16. Players love that Dick treats them as men. unfortunately, most NFL players don't produce at their peak level when treated this way. they respond as the prima donnas and thugs that they are - ' That's why coaches like Parcells get the most out of his players by not being their bud and allowing them to manlike slackers. I've had enough of the politically correct way to coach and would much prefer a butt-kicker who wins
  17. he will start on the PUP list and then go to IR. they can delay the inevitable for another year - and avoid any accountability
  18. not sure but I'm sure he discussed with TO how hard it is to win in the NFL
  19. Reed stays -he will be very productive if Hardy balks, just cut him outright and get it over with he is a turd and waste of a roster spot
  20. Ingram in 3rd or 4th would be a better TE choice than Pettigrew in the 1st. He is slower than most OL at 4.9 they need to draft a stud C that can start at either G or C this year
  21. TO is a character he does not have bad character like Lynch and Hardy the interaction between him and Dick will be priceless at least the Bills will be worth following - even if their record is in the 6 win category
  22. no that would be toss up between Bennie Anderson and Tuten Reyes or 90% of the other free agent OL they brought in the last 15 years TO has talent There is no chemistry on this team to destroy - so what's the downside It's not like he will breaking up any long running playoff string.
  23. makes sense as a flyer as long as they don't assume he is the answer they need to spend a top pick on an OL that can start at LG if his knee does not hold up.
  24. the Bills should get him - missing playoff games would not be a problem in Buffalo
