  1. Our LT is special but only if he is extended we have no LG. whoever they end up with will not be as good as Dockery Our C is a career backup who was not good enough in Carolina and was replaced. watching TO's head explode over piss poor OL play should be entertaining
  2. no - you are correct in a draft loaded with top quality C prospects, only the Bills would sign a castoff and pretend he's an NFL caliber starter and avoid the glut of OL players. If the Bills did not draft a top OL player like Albert or Clady last year when they knew Peters was holding out, they will never use a premium pick on an OL under this front office. they can not evaluate talent, or they would have recognized what they had in Greer and would have signed him last year instead of severely overpaying for another team's scrub this year Good teams build the trenches. look at what Parcells is doing in Miami. He signed the C the Bills should have got as a FA. Instead of the llines, the bills have spent multiple premium picks on "skill" players (#1- Evans, #2- Reed, Parrish, Hardy) who have been rendered useless by a porous OL. On top of that, the Bills cut Dockery voluntarily with no replacement in sight. just shortsighted and stupid
  3. Saban had the clashes with Ralph which Levy let Polian handle. Levy was good at the political infighting and consensus builidng. Saban was a good NFL head coach who didn't have the best GM in the business assembling a roster stocked with Hall of Famers Levy is vastly overrated
  4. he may be better than what we had - but what we had was criminal he is still a backup ever think that with a great OL, Carolina was able to slant the other guys to help out Hangartner since they were good enough to do their own jobs and his too. no such luck with the Bills OL just like Carolina drafted a better C even though they had the amazing hangman who got abused by Jenkins for 3 years, the Bills need to draft a real NFL C with bona fide skills.
  5. no - worst case the Bills again are going to blow a golden opportunity to UPGRADE the C position with one of the stud C in the draft. but instead the Bills will delude themselves that a castoff is the answer at C and doom the OL to further ineptness Preston sucked - and hangartner has already proven he can't handle AFC East nose tackles. another step in the wrong direction for Dick Levy not to mention the LG is still a gaping hole and will probably be all year when they try to use Chambers there
  6. not in a Dick Levy defense
  7. Hangartner was not good enough at handling the big nose tackles for Carolina so they spent a 2nd draft pick on Kalil who was Carolina's starting C until he got hurt. Hangartner was a good utility backup - which is what he should be for the bills just because he started does not make him able to handle the big nose tackles. Preston started for the Bills, does that make him good too??? The Bills feel the opposite about skill players. they have wasted multiple premium picks on WRs, RBs and DBs ove the last 10 years, but nothing on the OL. A 1st for Evans & Lynch, 2nds or Reed, Parrish and Hardy, etc - Yet the offense has been at the bottom of the league for years. maybe if they built the OL with dominant players (not castoffs from other teams), the offense would improve.
  8. Saying Hangarter is a starter is like saying Chambers is a starter - he was forced into the lineup because of injury I guess he was so good that Carlina did not keep him and he did not sign any big deal with anyone else either, What you fail to state is that Caroline liked Hangman so much that they went and drafted a rookie in the 2nd round and started him ahead of Hangartner. He was not good enough so he was replaced Now though he is the savior and answer to the Bills incompetent C play for the last 15 years. I don't think so . With roster space limits, it is imperative that your OL can play multiple positions. they need to be flexible to move around and cover up injuries. he is a backup quality C
  9. what are you gonna do ?? with an OL that is weaker than last year - miss the playoffs and struggle to win 6 games should be fun, though, to watch TO have a death match with Dick Levy on the field during a Pats game
  10. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/columni...,3127810.column see attached article on how Parcells goes about building a team. what a shock that he is spending resources on the OL. Satelle was a pretty good C in his 3rd year (better than what the Bills have at C), but he got overpowered by the 3-4 NT in the AFC East. Parcels signs Jake Grove for big bucks and THEN trades Satelle. Note he does not create the hole first without upgrading the position. Also notice Parcells does not waste premium picks on WRs and DBs. Dick Levy should take note -
  11. 15 years of history would tend to negate that happening. more likely a couple of DBs in the top 4 rounds even if they break tradition and draft an OL, their total ineptness in evaluating OL talent will render the pick worthless
  12. most propaganda threads & posts come directly from Russ's marketing and PR machine - constantly testing & manipulating the fanbase.
  13. typical Bills - spend big bucks on flashy WRs and TEs while again gutting and ignoring the OL all those skill players will be wasted by having a backup at C, nobody at LG and a holdout at LT
  14. that's the problem with the Bills- they plugged in someone else's backup and pretend he's a starter they need to draft a real NFL starting C - and play him at G in year 1 if he's not ready.
  15. piss poor OL play will sure have an impact a big question mark at C, a gaping hole at LG, and a holdout at LT do not bode well for much improvement in the offense- regardless of TO and JP
  16. Pennington was real good too-- right up to when they cut him after starting at RT for half a season.
  17. But Bell has a famous father who played in the NBA He must be good
  18. this is old news it refers to the offer the bills made in December it indicates the Bills are sitting on their offer and have not had further discussions
  19. yeah - I'm sure he'll be attending all of the off-season workouts
  20. no - let me simplify it for you. Brandon is a marketing genius. always has been The Toronto games are brilliant because they put huge money in Ralph's pocket with no risk to the season ticket base however, he doesn't know diddly about the on-field product and how to build a contender. If you don;t think he was heavily involved in this "survey", they you are just being very naive.
  21. Hangartner proved he was not good enough to start for a playoff team. they replaced him and let him go when his contract expired. that does not make him a bona fide NFL center he may be a starter for the Bills but only because the bar for OL in Buffalo is set so low.
  22. Even Ruben was not drafted as a G Ruben Brown was drafted as a T out of college with the plan to play him at LT and move Fina to C. The Bills have ignored the OL for 15 years Evenm if they spend the picks on the OL, they have no idea how to evaluate OL talent and will probably butcher the picks anyway. - just like Mike Williams over McKinnie.
  23. you mean the stunt orchestrated by that marketing genius Russ Brandon?? yeah - he had nothing to do with it he just jacked up interest in games in Buffalo and Toronto with very minimal cost outlay.
  24. Hangartner was not good enough to start for Carolina which is why they went and drafted a real C in the 2nd round - thus making him expendable. He is no better than what we had last year - and will look even worse with a gaping hole next to him at LG
  25. There may be college kids that can fill some holes for the Bills. However, we still have the same front office and scouting dept that has failed for this decade to find any impact players in the draft. who has any confidence that this front office will not totally bungle yet another draft - and leave the Bills with less talent than they had last year (especially on the OL)
