the beauty of the Bills front office is no one has complete authority over anything. there is no accountability under their circle jerk organization Russ is in name the COO - but he does not do contracts, he does not evaluate players, he does not draft or bring in free agents Overdork does something with contracts- but who OKs who to acquire and what the terms will be?? Guy and Modrak do something with personnel - but they don't make the picks - but who does?? Dick, Ralph ??? the fans sure don't and at Ralph's age - they probably have him bamboozled as well. 10 years with no playoffs and still employed would indicate as much

Different takes on training camp

well we know Dick's way gets you to 7-9. Cable's method is a good way to break old habits and indoctrinate a young team -
Today's Junior Bills Backers VIP day at camp
spartacus replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what's the surprise?? The Bills front office ran this event like they run the team on the field. The Bills have your money in advance so there is no need to be concerned about the quality of the actual product for which you have paid. Continuity and consistency at OBD -
if you like gun toting thugs- then there's lots to like

the 2nd quickest way to get your QB killed is to have your rookie interior OL give up the middle to those pesky 3-4 nose tackles and LBs while trying to help to the outside If Bell can't handle a simple one-on-one move, he will be dangerous to the health of the QBs
-
If Stew Barber and others like him had not screwed over so many players because they could, then maybe the players would not have needed such aggressive agents to protect their interests
-
even better - maybe the Bills should stop drafting players who are already injured badly enough to need surgery before they can play
-
just imagine if the Bills had spent a premium pick on an OL like Wood more than once in the last decade. they would have a solid, if not dominant, OL by now. instead we again are playing musical chairs again
-
Dick doesn't want to hurt their feelings nothing like a little public accountability to light a fire under a slacker but all is good in Dick's fantasy camp
-
yeah - with this plan we can start the Fitzpatrick era now as well. the surest way to get your QB killed is for your OT to give up the inside move - where whatever help they provided on the outside is completely wasted
-
if he was under contract with the Bills, I can see how they could dictate when he should have the surgery. but i guess the Bills were more concerned with paying out a nominal signing bonus earlier than the start of camp than getting a key player signed and ready for his career with the Bills.
-
I am certainly impressed. He is competing with a 5th round pick from last year who blew out his knee and this year's 5th round pick who played SS in college and has to learn a new position. both of which are also too small, slow and weak to be effective NFL LBs. maybe the Bills will give up fewer than 126 rushing yards/ game with these beasts on the field.

Maiorana and Roth: Langston Walker Not Real Happy at LT
spartacus replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would agree highly unlikely Walker will be a Bill next year Now that Marv is gone, the team is returning to its historical trend of stocking the OL with rookies and low budget free agent castoffs. at least the rookies they drafted this year were taken high enough to actually have some talent. Walker will prove he is not capable of playing LT and they can fill the RT slot much cheaper- so he will be toast. Walker is smart enough to keep his mouth shut to not give then any fodder to feed the fans, but Peters said nothing at all either and the front office stiff managed to trash him effectively it's good they finally signed some talented rookies, but too bad they have no coach qualified to mold them into an effective NFL OL> -
the Bills wanted him to have surgery in June why didn't they sign him then to clear the way for the surgery?
-
sounds like a good plan kid not under contract team wants him to have surgery before he is signed so he agrees because he is team player after surgery, team balks at paying market wage because he is damaged goods as evidenced by recent surgery brilliant, just briliant

Like Peters, Schobel had 3 years left on his deal when he got his extension. -

you are correct we will not see Walker all he and his bloated contract will be sent packing as the Bills return to their austerity ways on the OL. His failure at LT will be the excuse used -
The Bills' problems against 3-4 defenses
spartacus replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
maybe instead of trying to force the ball into 8 men in coverage, they could run some draw plays into those huge holes between the 3 rushing DL. -
maybe if those other 25 teams were already in camp, their players would be signed some team has to be the first to sign a 1st rounder, how come his agent isn't still waiting. Pittsburgh hasn't started camp, but their picks are all signed. I wonder how they convinced the agents not to wait for the rest of the league could be their front office knows what they are doing.
-
maybe not, but they sure screwed up taking him in the first place when they passed on a real LT.
-
since most of the teams we play utilize the 3-4, they will have much more flexibility in deploying their players which will greatly reduce the advantage of the no huddle against standard 4-3 teams who substitute alot. I would guess that the no huddle will create more confusion with our rookie OL and our mensa thug RB than with the 3-4 defensive coordinators we will face.
-
The Bills should just sign their guy and not blame the rest of the league for their incompetence. If the Bills priority was putting the best product on the field, Maybin would be signed. instead they are worried about overpaying by a few dollars which would put them within $20 mil of the cap.

sounds like a misquote. it was probably "The Bills were high" when asked if Bell had any chance of impersonating an NFL lineman in 2009
