  1. not sure why this distinction is not being more fully explored. Dick made it clear Alex will call the plays but they will have a running game guy and a passing game guy Alex will not be the "offensive coordinator" the last time the Bills tried this approach- one of the "guys"put the other's head through a wall can't wait until the fun starts
  2. he practiced real good on Fridays, but had a religious problem with playing on Sundays at least he had a reason for why he didn't show up on Sundays
  3. in Bizarro Bills World, Dick just bought himself another 1 year free pass. this year is shot and he already has fired the scapegoat. (he always has the backup plan that the OL was gutted to fall back on as well) Don't plan on Dick being fired as long as Ralph is alive
  4. All of them incredibly bad. not sure if any of them got any comparable jobs after serving under Dick - but his stifling philosphy is as much to blame as his specific hires.
  5. it's not like Dick was asked by upper mgmt to can Turk at the end of last year - but he refused for the sake of "continuity" so now Dick sees the light 1 week before the season starts?? sounds to me like Dick got another call, but it was not a polite request this time. Hard to see how Alex will be any improvement since he is still operating under Dick's super conservative philosphy. Turk is the scapegoat Dick will be riding to yer 2 of his contract, regardless of the team's performance in 2009
  6. for every critique of the Bills inept performance, someone blames is on the lack of game planning by our illustrious coaching staff the implication is that these other teams cheated by game planning and had an unfair advantage over the Bills. so why don't these boneheads prepare for their opponent in game 4 of the pre-season. what else is so important that these guys can't spend some time preparing the team??? I know Walt Corey wasted his time watching the Flintsones I wonder what Dick's favorite cartoon is
  7. Marv quit because Ralph would not make him HC. Marv intended to fire Mullarkey mid-season and take over himself. Marv was screwed when Mullarkey jumped from the sinking ship.
  8. you can add the Pats to those pursuing Thigpen - now that Brady has been knocked out again.
  9. add to that the total incompetent position coaches "molding" the collection of rookies and castoffs into a stellar OL. the blocking schemes they are using haven't worked since day 1
  10. because when they practice indoors all the time, the field is not long enough to allow longer patterns
  11. from a logical standpoint, your thoughts are ridiculous. why get rid of allegedly our best OL from last year. However, from the perspective of THIS front office, it makes alot of sense. Walker is getting paid right now what THIS front office thinks is top end LT money. If Walker can't cut it at LT, then he is too expensive to play RT, or even worse, sit on the bench. Remember Marv was the one to commit big bucks to the failed OL free agents. THIS front office firmly believes it can use rookies and low budget low round picks and free agent finds to occupy the OL. Since it happened with Peters, they are convinced Bell is the rags to riches LT storybook. Although it may make more sense to make the move next year, Ralph can save much more money by moving Walker's contract before the season. What's the downside? Ticket sales are in the bag for 2009
  12. you can speed that up Walker is probably gone before his 2009 salary vests
  13. Walker slide won't stop at the bench he will be cut outright to save his humongous salary they won't pay that much for a bench warmer
  14. well the big change in thinking would be if the front office decided they needed an additional salary dump - since season ticket sales have maxed out, no revenue would be lost from dis-illusioned fans if a few high salary guys were dumped. Walker, Schobel and Kelsey could all be out the door to save Ralph some serious coin in 2009.
  15. you keep making this lame ass argument. Dick is the HEAD coach The assistants are his responsibility They coach the schemes he wants. If they can't coach it, that's on him because he hired them and did not fire them If they won't coach it, that's on him because he did not fire them If Dick does not pick the players and is not accountable for his direct hires and the product on the field, -- what exactly does he get paid for???
  16. maybe the Bills would have had the time if they were not attending Club Dick. all of those 2-a-days they did not use may have been a good time to learn the 3-4. since all of the 3-4 teams run 4-3 looks as well, they seem to have figured out to learn more than 1 thing. maybe if they did not spend so much time having the DEs practice their down field pass coverage, they could get it done.
  17. sounds to me like there may be something to the talk of the Bills downsizing Schobel's huge contract. a pre-season injury now prevents the Bills from cutting him outright without an injury settlement.
  18. ding, ding ding!!!! we have a winner!!
  19. why do they have to win now?? to sell tickets? they set ticket sales records this year after finishing 2-8. why would ownership spend more money paying fired coaches and front office staff and then paying even more money for top quality people when they can't generate any more revenue than what they have right now. to keep the fans happy?? see above as long as Ralph owns the team, the corporate directive is to make money, not contend for a title.
  20. Bills were equally inept against all of the 3-4 defenses they played last year. they have done nothing to prepare to attack it this year
  21. this is the all time classic excuse for the team's ineptness. DICK is the head coach but has no control over either of his hand selected coordinators. what exactly is Dick responsible for if not the performance of his coaches and players on the field??
  22. it is if you spend your life looking for handouts and laying the blame for all that is wrong on "society" liberals and personal responsibility go together like that oil and vinegar in the salad dressing.
  23. you are correct If Ralph did not fire Dick last year after the 2-8 collapse, he will never pull the plug Dick will complete his contract as long as Ralph lives. then he will get extended because Ralph will view him as a good luck charm
  24. start with the head coach and OC that would be a huge step in the right direction
