  1. the playbook in 2008 was pretty devoid of a lot of standard stuff like screens, draws, slants, etc
  2. well it would be if first, you cleaned out the clown show and got top notch talent evaluators who would not pick the turd of the bunch and also build an NFL quality OL and second, you hired real NFL quality coaches to develop your QB without that, it's like a dog chasing its tail
  3. you guys are short changing Alex he was quality control coach for 2 years as well. and he slept at a Holiday Inn Express when he went to Detroit It is a foregone conclusion the Bills offense will be at least 31st
  4. maybe if the Bills actually practiced the plays at full speed during those missing 2-a days they would be further along with the performance part. maybe playing the starters more than a few series per pre-season game would have helped too. hard to hold Turk accountable for lack of production in pre-season games when the staff failed to plan at all for that opponent.
  5. why are you so sure Dick will be fired. He is the coach when season ticket record sales were set. He already has a 2 pronged excuse for a bad 2009 (OC gone bad and a gutted OL) By being paid peanuts (for an NFL HC), Ralph is maximizing cash flow. If Dick gets fired, Ralph has to pay 2 coaches- not going to happen. Russ will come up with some flash and pizzazz (like the TO signing) to con the fans and all is well in Ralph's world.
  6. ah - grasshopper you have stumbled on the complete farce that our offense has become the last time the bills used this structure without someone qualified to play referee resulted in one of the "run/pass coordinators" getting his head smashed through a wall by the other
  7. and that's in a league that plays no defense
  8. we needed the room for the DBs we already maxed out at 8 OL good thing 2 or them are already hurt and one is worse than Fowler but he's all we have to backup C. this is some stellar roster management
  9. Let's be clear Alex is not the OC He calls the plays and is the passing game coordinator, which has no more priority than eric as the running game coordinator. as with all other Bills management structure, there is no one in charge to be held accountable
  10. well that's a relief that you confirmed what Tim reported. seeing that he's a qualified journalist and all. we wouldn't want to rely on stuff he reported without you backing him up with that out of way, maybe you can break some news on the Bills before we see it on ESPN thanks
  11. well that stinks he won't be able to use Madden to pick the plays
  12. Langston Walker -- too much money for a non-LT
  13. typical leadership in Buffalo the bar is set so low that trying to master a Pop Warner offense is all that we can hope to achieve. and if we score a few TDs, the season will be considered a success. Playoffs be damned Dick gets to stay for another year - he is a genius for firing his OC and fine tuning Pop Warner!!
  14. "you play to win the game" no matter what the zss clowns on this board think, there is value in learning how to do that - especially for a young team that imploded at 2-8 last year
  15. and Dick didn't know this during all of 2008???? why not cut Turk at the end of 2008 like he was asked to do?? no , he has to stand on principal and cut him a week before the season after getting the same stuff for the entire off-season. yeah- that Dick is a real decision maker
  16. John Guy strikes again having a high profile not even make the regular season roster is a new low even for him
  17. before Turk left, they got him to provide his cut list
  18. the only place Walker is dedicated is at the snack bar. Carrying 60 - 70 extra pounds which is hindering him from becoming a dominant player sure doesn't look like dedication to me
  19. The OC needs to be in the booth to see first hand how the plays are developing so he can adjust his play calling to what the defense is doing in real time. Head coaches, like Andy Reid, who call their own plays, have a OC level person in the booth doing the live analysis Unfortunately, Alex is also the QB coach so he has a really big need to be on the sidelines in Trent's ear at all times he is off the field. such is life when you cut staff to save a few bucks Maybe Chuck Lester can serve as the skilled OC in the booth -
  20. did Marv mention that it helped having Hall of Fame caliber players executing said 6 or 7 plays? and an OL that consisted of something more than rookies and cheap free agent castoffs and backups
  21. The scarier part is that Dick went out of his way to keep these same complicated schemes at the end of 2008 when mgmt told him to fire Turk. why on the eve of the season opener did Dick finally "start thinking" that the offense sucked? This wasn't readily apparent after the 1st game at Akron? or maybe Dick should have done some research on what kind of offense Turk wanted to run BEFORE he hired him!!! for a Yale guy, Dick does not do much thinking
  22. The Kelly Bills were successful with few plays because they perfected their execution thru practice. unfortunately, Dick does not believe in live practice( indoors or outdoors)
  23. why ? because Dick has been so successful with the multitude of OCs that have tried to implement an offense to his specs?
  24. This is the quality of inside info you have access to through your connections to the Bills brass? wow
  25. yeah - too bad they don't play 5 pre-season games to get ready for the season. not sure how these colleges turn over their entire team every 3-4 years and manage to compete with only a game or 2 agasinst some punching bag opponent.
