What's with all the LEAKS out of OBD?
spartacus replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what epic fail? they fired Dick - which will be spun as the major move of the off-season. any coach will be seen as better than Dick. they set season ticket sales records after bringing back Dick last year, it will be a cakewalk to do it again without him as coach in 2010, no matter who his replacement is (unless it's Charlie Weis- then all bets are off) -
Marty would be a good choice Ted is horrible- he's been fired by 3 different teams after the Bills for his inept coaching save us from the horror

Here are some coaching stats to ponder
spartacus replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marty for GM he knows how to turn around losers -
regarding the front office, you would think that after 10 years the media could have come up with a little bit of detail about the workings of the "inner circle" - and commented on that structures ability to deflect blame from any and all involved that lack of accountability permeates the entire organization - and may have been something that our crackerjack media may have wanted to pursue.

The impending Tsunami of lies

hasn't been committed to hiring the best and brightest coaches and GM for 50 years not seeing the big change coming now -

the "offensive" part will no doubt be true -
as you note, the media covering the Bills are stealing the money they are paid. they break no stories have no inside info for spending all of their working hours covering the Bills, they sure do have a glaring lack of contact with anyone in the organization - but the excuse is that all of that "inside" info is "off-the-record" the drivel they write is worse than most posts on this board

Ralph is about to screw the pooch again
spartacus replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
worse than just hiring another crap coach - is that they will keep the clown show intact in the front office pre-ordaining the new coach to failure due to lack of an OL and a small overwhelmed front 7. -

or more relevant how the Dolphins hired Parcells mid-season to evaluate the team -
This deserve's it's own topic
spartacus replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Under no circumstance did "Dick choose to leave on his own" He would not get paid if he did Raph just fired him now instead of at year end Dick's decision to not stay as a lame duck was one of the few good decisions he made as Bills HC. -
Shanahan/Cowher talk is all a mirage IMO
spartacus replied to Driftwood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
pretty impressive track record 1 coach and 1 GM in 50 years (chuck knox was only here once) the remaining guys were re-treads, cast-offs or nobodies with no experience -

so after 50 years of hiring crappy coaches and GMs, Ralph is now going to spend big time right --- don't hold your breathe on that one more likely Ralph pulls the bait and switch hype Shanahan but hire the dirtbag re-tread like Haslet. -

gee - what a surprise Russ Brandon manipulating the Bills fans through the media and the internet. -
thank you it all starts with the GM - who sets the philosophy for the franchise (which needs to be a hard nosed, blue collar, aggressive team built from the trenches.) the coach needs to share his philosophy so the players acquired are maximized by the coach.

spartacus replied to UpstateSwagger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Weis blows - too bad we don't have Tom Brady to make him look good he was so critical to the Pats success that it improved dramatically after he left and Notre Dame has been so much improved after he took over. how about a real coach who has a proven track record as a HEAD coach. It's all for naught anyway, if they don't bring in a real NFL quality GM and talent evaluator -
over 50 years and Chuck Knox was the only big money coach Ralph ever brought in. and that was because the fans got smart and stayed away. Ralph is not likely to spend big money on real coaches and GMs now with record season ticket sales even after retaining the Dick after his team imploded last year.
-
Maybe Ralph isn't cheap after all
spartacus replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"nickel-and-diming of the past five years?" I think you give Ralph too much credit he has spent big money to bring on a proven NFL coach exactly once in 50 years (not 5). not likely he changes those miserly ways with the Bills setting season ticket sales records with bad (and cheap) coaches like Dick in charge expect a lot of talk and hype about the Bills chasing several of the big names for the remainder of the season to keep the fans stoked with hope. Reality will be another inept coach hired to coach the crappy talent acquired by the clown show front office which will remain intact -
Will everyone be on board with the next hire?
spartacus replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is most definitely true which is why Shanahan would be a bad hire if he comes, it will be with control of football decision making - which he is really bad at. Bills need to find the best GM and football guy first - then let that guy find a coach who fits the philosophy -
the only problem with Shanahan as the GM is that he sucks at it. he is horrible at talent evaluation - and typically had bad drafts and even worse free agent signings he can coach - but he is worse than Marv as a GM

Top Coaching Candidates...
spartacus replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is absolutely true anything less than a complete overhaul of the clown show in the front office is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic The Bills need a real NFL caliber football guy who values a blue collar team strong in the trenches is what is needed - who will then hire an NFL caliber HC who shares the same philosophy -
can't stop laughing at your nonsense Bills fans are complete lemmings they bought season tickets in record numbers with the worst offense of all time - and you are worried about turning down a coach that consistently wins and makes the playoffs.
-
Tebow is a winner - which this desperately needs. unfortunately, he has horrible mechanics to throw the ball in the NFL. He drops the ball to his waist or lower when he winds up to throw which has resulted in numerous fumbles His first instinct is to run which would be great if the team was commited to the spread offense and you wanted your QB to be knocked out by the mid-way point. Instead the Bills will probably take Bradford consistent with their time honored philosophy of taking the most injured guy possible who has a huge question mark of ever recovering. that or take some turd coached by Mack Brown

I think TO has met his match in Trent
spartacus replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TO had good reason to be pissed. was at the game and watched him specifically. he was open (and by a large margin) on almost every pattern he ran. it gets awfully tiresome when Trent does not even look in his direction on 90% of the passes. it seemed every pass to the right, except the 2 long balls, went to RBs in the flat. it seemed every pass to the left went to a WR that Trent locked onto from the snap. Trent has a serious problem with reading defenses and finding his targets
