  1. and now you know why Dick kept repeating "It's tough to win in the NFL"
  2. but because the names are different, the lemmings will proclaim all is well and Ralph has finally turned it around. expect record season ticket sales - no matter what boob is hired as HC and even though the clown show returns intact at OBD
  3. This statement from John's article raises some questions: "Nix hasn't spoken publicly since his introductory news conference Dec. 31 and did not return a message left at his home in Tennessee" How committed to GM can be Nix be if he still lives in Tenn after being employed by the Bills for a year? Looks like Nix and Modrak are on the "part-time work from home" plan that has worked so well for the Bills over the last decade.
  4. The talent will be better because John Guy and Tom Modrak and the rest of the clown show are long gone. NOT Could be that coaches know the importance of a good front office and don't want their careers derailed by a baseball marketing guy and his meddling owner
  5. A savvy GM would have brought Marty and his son as a package with a transition plan. Working WITH his son is the only reason Marty would come back to coaching anyway. Marty is a turnaround expert and his son is adept at identifying and developing young QBs. Marty and Brian solve so many of the Bills problems, except the one at the top of the organization- which is why this is not even being considered.
  6. not a surprise since the local media has trouble reporting on most everything except writing mostly fluff pieces. For beign paid to follow and report on the Bills, these guys should be embarassed by the lack of contacts and information they are able to publish. It seems if statements by the team are not spoonfed at a press conference, there is no other info
  7. you left out Ryan Clady- the Starting All-Pro LT - who the Bills should have picked instead of McElvin -knowing that they wanted to play hardball with Peters at LT.
  8. yeah- the Whitner and McCargo picks were awesome as well as those huge free agent contracts he gave out to players who were cut 2 years later if down the toilet is the direction you are looking for, then Marv is the "man":
  9. This is true and it even applies more so to the clown show that occupies the front office. and yet the lemmings have fully bought into giving a 70 year old scout the title as GM as the solution to 10 years of futility in acquiring talent.
  10. His contacts with the Bills and ability to break stories are almost as good as the local media
  11. what also does not translate into victories on the field is playing 1 of 8 home games against a division rival in a foreign country, played during a playoff drive. Any coach worth his salt wants to play for a championship. Coaching the bills where you are starting behind the 8 ball because Ralph is more concerned about generating revenue becomes problematic This is just one item which illustrates that ralph's priority does not include building a contender, either with players, front office or coaches.
  12. brought to you by the same research group generating bogus global warming data
  13. That would be Marty and his son.
  14. you are correct, Ralph pays coaches what they worth. Usually it's not much since he consistently hires crappy, cheap coaches. Exactly once in 50 years has Ralph gone to the market and paid top dollar for a bona fide NFL head coach. that was Chuck Knox. he then shortchanged him on players and drove Knox out the door. All this of $10 mil for a coach is pure speculation. Until the bills actually sign and pay a coach, big spending is just another marketing tool to hype the fan base.
  15. because he's the next great black hope
  16. he can pay for Marty by firing Modrak and Guy
  17. He can't stay at USC because they will be going on probation for crap that happened on his watch
  18. how can any bonafide coach with a desire to contend put up with having a key late season home game against a division rival be played in a different country?? as we know, its hard enough to win in the NFL its much harder when you play your home games in Canada any coach with half a brain can figure than out
  19. The choice is Marty and Brian in some combination. Marty has proven 4 different times that he knows how to change a culture of losing, and he can do it quickly. Brian brings a special gift of being able to develop young QBs like Brees, Rivers and Sanchez. If he knows how to develop them, he probably has an eye on what makes a good QB as well, which the Bills desperately need. Both of them have a good working relationship with Buddy. The opportunity to coach with his son and long time friend set up the unique situation that will bring him back for a short term until his son is ready to take over.
  20. He is on Buddy's short list of can't miss candidates
  21. Nix actually isn't a change either. he was here last year, he just has a new title on his door. It has yet to be determined if that title gives him any additional powers
  22. actually they met the Rooney rule, gave the job to Russ Grimm and infomred he was the new coach. then the NFL "suggested" they put their money where their mouth is and hire a minority since the rule was named after Rooney after all.
  23. that's why Marty is the best option he comes with his son who is a proven OC AND great developer of young QBs
  24. Hopefully he brings his ax to the locker room as well.
