PFW audibles (always my favorite feature there)
spartacus replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
see Tim Graham -
this is hard to understand, I know when Flozell Adams was in the game, he controlled Jared Allen after he got hurt, the pass rush went wild coincidence - I think not

The Bills played the entire 2009 season shorthanded because someone made a knee jerk decision to fire Turk the week before the season. It would have been a great move to hire Gailey at that point as an advisior and consultant to AVP, since he was throw to the wolves with a week's notice. If he was such good buds with Nix, it should have been a no brainer to bring him in. However, with Ralph, its all about not wasting money on coaches. You can bet, AVP will be the OC this year since Ralph still owes him money.

Sporting News chimes in on Gailey hiring

if you remember Marv Levy, you may recall that he had the privilege of coaching numerous Hall of Fame players acquired by Bill Polian. unfortunately the current team has no probowl level talent, let alone Hall of Fame caliber and a clown show in the front office has failed miserably for 10 years to acquire any decent talent -
Sporting News chimes in on Gailey hiring

you do realize that was written by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk fame - who everyone blasts as incompetent -
I wonder what Brandon has up his sleeve

Gailey runs the spread. sounds like just the guy to design his entire NFL offense around Tebow. -
well that one is true
-
Ralph is already paying a coach for 2010 and 2011 - which is the crux of the problem with hiring a real NFL caliber staff
-
unbelievable their offense sucked when they did not have a LT what a shocker!!
-
Could Ralph be thinking go into 2010 with no coach?
spartacus replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with a lockout coming in 2011, this is not as far-fetched as it sounds Ralph is already paying Dick for 2010 & 2011 this plan would allow Ralph to break even on HCs -
Leslie Frazier choice is starting to sound VERY good
spartacus replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you are correct he has been passed over consistently for several years now -
3 of 4 games this weekend are inside

just think, by the time the Bills get a home playoff game, it will be played in a dome in Toronto. -
so the coach goes on record that McNabb will be back in 2010 as his starting QB, but we are to believe "unnamed sources" saying the opposite from a stoodge at ESPN

so if Buddy is such a stud Gm trusted by Ralph, why has Ralph torpedoed Buddy's personal recommendation to hire Marty? -
maybe Leach could lock Ralph in an equipment shed when he came meddling

your post indicates you have fallen hook, line and sinker for the latest Russ Brandon propaganda extraganza. Talk is cheap and Russ uses this inexpensive medium to his full advantage. Since interviews and alleged interviews don't cost anything, the Bills can talk a good game of pursuing top flight HC candidates. The talk you don't hear about is the actual commitment to winning, which needs to include 1. a top flight front office with NFL caliber scouting dept and talent evaluators (past 10 years show that the Bills severely lack in this dept and naming Nix the GM while retaining the status quo everywhere else shows a firm grasp on mediocrity, not a commitment to putting the best product on field) 2. Control - coaches see a decade of bad decisions and want enough say in the operations to control their own destiny. Ralph wants a yes man 3. Winning - Coaches want to win, not pad Ralph's bottom line. This organization has consistently shown to be more concerned with increasing profits at the expense of contending for championships. Any coach with half a brain sees that giving up home field advantage to play a key division "home" game during a playoff run in a foreign country is not a team committed to "winning on the field". 4. Meddling --Good coaches know they are good and their methods work. They don't need to have a meddling owner and his baseball marketing guy trying to run the show from the back seat. 5. Budget - As we have seen, the coordinators and their staff are just as important as the HC. Ralph has always shortchanged the coaching staff and this has only gotten worse as the game has gotten more specialized. Teams like the Dolphins have separate coaches for the inside and outside LBs. The Bills, on the other hand, start with a smaller staff and fire their OC a week before the season and play the entire season shorthanded. Obviously the good coaches can read between the lines, because they sure aren't buying what Russ is selling about the Bills commitment to winning BTW- the above is also why the Bills don't have a real NFL GM

Woah - Bills offered HC job to Harbaugh
spartacus replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this screams b.s. offer guys jobs witout interviews yeah OK -
the stars have aligned for the Bills to make Mike Leach their next HC at least his press conferences would be worthwhile
-
I really like the possibility of Frazier as HC
spartacus replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he's really strong too he set some sort of record at the combine for lifting -
I can see one potential trade down in this draft for us
spartacus replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it's good to see the unrealistic draft scenarios starting early this year. so the Jags are going to give up the house to move up 2 spots to draft a guy that will be there at the bottom of the round. if only our clown show was making the moves for Jax is this is even remotely possible. -
This has been the Bills philosophy regarding the OL since Polian left. Do not spend premium picks to fix the LT position because there is always some project on the roster (or on the street) who is about to break out into a stud player. Will Wolford was the last first round pick spent on a bona fide LT who was projected to play LT in the NFL. Butler did draft Ruben Brown as a LT out of Pitt but he was projected to play OG which is where he spent his entire NFL career. Mike Williams was never an option to play LT because he lacked the speed and agility to handle speed rushers. It turned out he couldn't play RT or G either.
-
since Peters was such a toxic liability, all the more reason Clady should have been the pick instead of another DB -and a project no less.
-
they would not have a gaping hole at LT if they had picked Clady instead of McElvin (who just happens to be a DB)
