  1. why do you think the Bills finally got some guys from the power lifting world to join the "training" staff with some expert guidance, POZ won't be suffering from brittle bones breaking due to his unsupervised doping program,
  2. The fact that the Knicks are the only team with enough cap room to get 2 max players makes them an actual possibility. that is not correct\ Miami has plenty of cap space for a max contract or even 2 to team with Wade If LeBron is in fact in play, Pat Riley makes Miami a serious player in the sweepstakes
  3. this is true the ranking is skewed based on what it gives credit for POZ could be on the field for a 12 play drive (which would indicate a poor defense) but if he happened to fall down next to a RB who tripped in the backfield on play #10, he gets bonus points for making a play that a LB who played on a defense that went 3 and out never had the opportunity for
  4. Russ Brandon can spin anything to sell tickets
  5. interesting that this stat totally ignores all bad plays. so on a 12 play drive, a player could be out of position, get manhandled, and generally screwup on 11 of the plays, but fall on a RB who slipped behind the line and get bonus points as a playmaker.
  6. although Fred Jackson averaged 4.5 ypc last season behind this line, the team was able to finish dead last in 3rd down conversions. and this was with TO and Evans on the outside. The Bills offense is a trainwreck and will not be much better this year.
  7. unfortuately you get the whole package with Gaither in addition to his experience at LT, you get his bad attitude, bad work ethic and desire for a huge new contract maybe he will be better than the last 2 OL that got huge money deals maybe not but the Bills have not left themselves any real options since they have continued to ignore the OT positions with their premium picks for the better part of 2 decades typical Bills fans reaction - though run a bonafide proBowl LT out of town, but welcome a lesser talent who has a much worse track record of being a malcontent and slacker
  8. maybe we can get him to post on this board so all can treat him as a media god
  9. seems that this stat is a bit misleading only in Buffalo, can a team boast such a powerful running game , yet finish dead last in 3rd down coversions (and keeping drives alive) http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/third...-conversion-pct
  10. there will be no lockout The NFL will play in 2011 under the last offered proposal before there is an impasse. If the players do not choose to play under those rules, it will be their choice to implement a work stoppage.
  11. you are correct by the time the season rolls around, Ralph's hatchet boy will have cut loose Schobel, Kelsay, and Stroouid to save some big bucks since none of them have ever played a 3-4
  12. Singletary: Willis may go down as "one of the best" Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 4, 2010 3:08 PM ET I remember the first time I watched Mike Singletary coach and Patrick Willis play. It was 2007, at the Senior Bowl, and the NFL Network mic'd up Singletary, then an assistant head coach in San Francisco. Singletary tutored Willis all week and liked what he saw. Three years later, the two men are the faces of the 49ers franchise. Willis' $50 million contract extension means the linebacker will be around for a long time. "I am very proud of what Pat has been able to accomplish. He is the epitome of what a 49er is all about," Singletary said Tuesday. "Before it is all said and done, he may go down as one of the best to play the position." That means a lot coming a lot from Singletary. In 2007, after Willis got off to a fast start, Singletary was asked to compare Willis to his idol Ray Lewis. "You're looking at a guy that has the right to be called a great player, and you're comparing him to a kid that's looking forward to being a great player. There's a difference in that, and I think it's exciting to watch the transformation," Singletary said in October, 2007. That transformation remains on schedule.
  13. which is why the Bills were desperately trying to get Tebow contrary to Ralph's heated denial
  14. good point sounds a lot like last pre-season where the Bills had the best RB/WR combo in the league
  15. staying with the 4-3 would not have given the Bills the convenient excuse to get rid of the contracts of Kelsay, Stroud and Schobel let alone a built in excuse for winning no more than 4 games
  16. all the tools?? he can't play straight ahead to defend the run. let alone play in space and in reverse to cover the pass the only "tool" he has is a quick first step, which is easily neutralized by his small size and bad technique
  17. what it really shows is that Indy has really good scouts and coaches that allow Polian to draft his OL in the mid-rounds and become very successful players. The Bills on the other hand have very limited success in producing starters from their first round picks, let alone the mid and late rounds. using only 6 scouts which is 1/3 of that employed by other top teams will result in really bad results
  18. gotta love Bills blind homers no one sets the bar lower
  19. sounds like the blather from last pre-season after we signed TO and immediately had the most weapons in the league on an unstoppable offense that worked out well - primarily because the OL was so good and it started out with more talent than what they have now
  20. Based on what has been done so far, the plan seems to be to position the team to draft a franchise QB next year
  21. The Bills had a deal in place with the Jets to get Tebow. The Broncos moved higher and the Bills upped the ante with the Ravens. However, Denver had more ammo from their earlier trade down. Gailey wanted to run the spread with his new zone blocking scheme, Spiller and Tebow. Having Ralph get all indignant was Brandon's plan to spin the failed trade up.
  22. Lynch is too dumb to be able to execute a zone blocking scheme he couldn't remember where to run straight ahead, let alone having to pick a hole depending on the double teams play out differently on each play.
  23. As exciting as Spiller's highlight video may be, he will still have trouble making it onto the field on passing downs until he proves he can block and recognize blitz pickups. Fortunately he seems to be a sharp kid, unlike the dumb thug that he is replacing.
  24. more likely Kelsay, Stroud and Schobel are all gone in 2010 to save some big bucks -now that they have brought in some players who can actually play a 3-4 defense.
  25. With the addition of so many DL /KB in the draft, it looks like the writing is on the wall that Kelsay, Schobel and Stroud are on the way out the door to save Ralph some big bucks. To keep all of these rookies, roster spaces will need to be opened up and the big contract guys that never played a 3-4 will be out the door.
