  1. Polian was the cheap in house promotion that Ralph is so fond of. too bad Polian is one of the few success stories of that philosophy in buffalo
  2. what's the matter? you don't think the 2 injured guys the Bills have are not better than Tra Thomas? you need to get on board, since Chan Gailey is godlike and will coach Bell to the Hall of Fame this year.
  3. hey - it's not like Bell or Wang are injured and missing time or anything what's the problem? these guys are all young, so they will all mature and jell together They have to be good since Buddy said so and did not bring in any replacements or upgrades the more time passes, the more they will magically become real NFL players
  4. was that Trent telegraphing the checkdown to the flat?
  5. could be that DTV was willing to pay just a wee bit more to the NFL for the "exclusive" rights, since you know if everybody had it - who would pay for DTV?
  6. because of the first fumble, McKelvin should have been benched leaving him in the game was the coach's fault bringing the ball out AND then fumbling it are all on McKelvin it's hard to win in the NFL with players who make stupid decisions there was no need to try to hit a homerun on either return at that point in the game
  7. yeah -the part about not being required to catch the ball at UF is really strange
  8. more impressive would have been winning at least 1, if not several, of those Super Bowl games.
  9. McKelvin sure is a gamebreaker without him, the Bills would not have been "broken"in that NE game but, hey, maybe he even starts a few games at CB this year
  10. you guys are way too critical of the Bills First - some guy complains that the team can't even acknowlege their fans at a team sponsored fan appreciation event. now, you want a multi-billion dollar enterprise to act and operate like a professional organization. you keep complaining about this stuff and the team will take its mickey mouse operation out of town, to someplace like Orlando. you should just shut up and be glad you have something that is still talked about as part of the NFL - too much criticism and they will be out of here before that lease expires in 2012
  11. as true as your statement is about the lack of quality at the QB position, the scary thing is that Modrak and his scouting staff for the last decade responsible for all of those blown QB picks are still employed at OBD
  12. this is completely incorrect Edwards threw over the middle against the Cards - on the play he got his bell rung If Hardy had actually run the pattern as the hot read, Edwards would not have gotten killed - but that's what happens when intelligence takes a back seat to tallness.
  13. If the Bills wanted Saffold, they had already had a deal in place with the Jets to move into the 1st round. they passed because the guy they wanted to move up for had already gone to Denver. As you say, Tebow would not need to wait 2-3 years to learn a pro-style offense if he was running a spread / pistol scheme. and who better to implement just such an offense than Gailey, especially since the Bills have no QBs on the roster capable of running a pro style offense. Gailey wants to run the pistol and wanted Tebow to be the trigger man. In fact, the one QB they did draft, is more suited to run the pistol than a pro-style offense.
  14. The major reason our defenses under performed in the Super Bowl run was because Marv failed miserably at hiring good assistants, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Walt Corey cost the Bills the first 2 SuperBowls - his inability to gameplan and devise any scheme at all wasted the tremendous talent of both Bruce and Bennett. and that is on Marv Marv proved his ineptness at identifying coaching talent did not diminish with age as Dick showed so conclusively.
  15. ya think? they should break that stat down by tackles broken behind the LOS to focus on how well the Bills OL really played in 2009.
  16. Gailey didn't want to add another guy at QB He wanted Tebow to run the Pistol as their base offense, not as a gimmick change of pace. Those other QBs don't bring the attributes he wanted. Downplay it all you want, but the reaction from OBD (especially Ralph) when Denver ruined their plans tells the story.
  17. Hardy will play, because the Bills have no other options too bad it does not mean he will be productive. He is really tall, but lacks every other trait needed to be an effective WR in the NFL let's see how good those college coaches really are
  18. this is true Easley will be a stud this year All of that talk about WRs needing several years to transition to the NFL do not apply to Bills receivers because of the great coaching they will get. In fact, Hardy and Johnson will probably leap frog Lee Evans due to the great coaching (especially since that 3 year breakout year was repealed)
  19. to get back to the original post, yes, the Bills were heavily interested in Tebow and reports during the draft indicated that they had a deal in place with the Jets to move back into the bottom of the 1st round to draft him. Denver made a more aggressive move (because they had positioned themselves to be able to do so), which is what got Ralph's Depends in such a bunch. Gailey planned on having Tebow run the Pistol from day 1 which is also why he got Spiller.
  20. this team always gets an A+ for marketing of course, the marketing job is really easy when the fanbase will buy any and everything you are selling, sight unseen
  21. John- good to see your son has ash-canned the education part of the program that book learning stuff is way overrated, especially when it gets in the way of playing football.
  22. good thing that's going to change now that the Bills have brought in some expertise from the performance enhancing drug mecca of power lifting
  23. more interesting from that article posted by a Bills employee is this reference: "Russ Brandon, COO/General Manager of the Buffalo Bills". I guess the Bills don't consider Buddy to be the GM afterall
  24. the fact that he is tall is really really important I know tallness was a great predictor of success for other Bills super-studs like Hardy.
  25. not a sure thing by anyone who bothered to check out his background and find out what a weight problem and motivation problem he had with serious questions about his ability to handle elite pass rushers, the pick was downright arrogant since McKinne (a real LT) still on the board and the Bills with a gaping hole at LT
