  1. looks like they want the biggest do-over they can get. going into the season with your 2 top LT prospects both injured and not very good to begin with gives the QBs very little chance to show what they can do and will destroy whatever confidence in Trent Chan is able to revive.
  2. they could have stayed put and drafted David Harris but he's not white either
  3. if he thought he could win games, he would be sure he had a real LT with a piss-poor OL, he has a built-in excuse for whatever sorry record the team posts this year as they start their 2nd straight decade of rebuilding
  4. Purging less productive guys from the roster is a really good plan. The problem with our front office is they have not replaced them with more productive players or playmakers- just more of the same to continue on the treadmill to nowhere. still can't fathom that they fully intend to start camp with 2 injured guys as the best bet to start at LT.
  5. it is pretty much common knowledge that the the too-big-to fail banks have no interest in servicing the traditional customer. avoid the big banks and avoid the problems
  6. one or two a game would be a big improvement from what we get from Bell at LT
  7. You can live with one or two false starts a game? To me that would be totally unacceptable. that would be a good day for Bell
  8. Bell is never healthy - period. not exactly the picture of reliability - which is why expecting significant improvement is being slightly optimistic
  9. you are correct we should rejoice now that we have replaced Modrak, his 6 scouts and the remaining front office - who brought us such success over the last decade
  10. Building thru the draft will only work if the players drafted actually produce. wasting premium picks on turds like Maybin, Lynch, McCargo, Whitner, etc tends to set back the rebuilding (10 years and counting)
  11. building an OL with something other than turnstyles at both tackles and a lot of nothing at LB would do a whole lot more to improve their chances of winning than blowing smoke like they do every year. but blowing smoke is far cheaper and since the homers buy it, why bother with actually aggressively improving the team
  12. "The Bills will play to win" That's the spin put out from the marketing dept every year - and it works great to sell tickets "But if they don't, they can call this a rebuilding year" too bad, each year all of the pre-season hype turns out to be a giant charade- and we find out after the fact that in fact it was another "re-building" year of missed opportunities
  13. good thing the Bills are all healthy at LT no need to bring in someone who is actually healthy (and can actually play)
  14. Since Jim Kelly retired the list is pretty scary
  15. how can you say with a straight face that this this FO has more sense than to let their first round pick hold out? It happens every year and the guys doing the contracts (Overdorf)and the COO (Brandon)are still the same clowns that did not feel any urgency to get their top picks in camp on time at any time on their watch. In fact, some of the waiting is by design to let everyone else sign around their pick to squeeze every last dollar out of the deal. Money has always taken priority over getting the top picks in camp on time.
  16. that might matter if the NFL was considering a lockout. However they are not- they will negotiate to an impass and then implement the rules under the last proposal before the impass. they will then invite any players willing to play under the new set of rules. The players will then have to decide if they want to strike or play (making them the bad guys)- putting the burden on them to stick together - which will last all of a few weeks before they want to play. The NFL will play with whoever shows up, but they will play in 2011
  17. As with most years, those expert opinions are universally discarded by the blind homers at the beginning of the year. yet by year end, those experts are much closer to the truth than the local homers who follow the team so closely and know so much more than everyone else.
  18. The league will probably institute a supervised HGH and performance enhancing drug program to "help" the players deal with the extra stress on their bodies. The drugs they take now are not administered properly and lead to severe side effects like brittle and broken bones.
  19. Meredith should look great at LT all the way up until the point he plays against even average pass rushers. The Bills D has no one even close to a quality pass rusher, so the OL will look much better in practice than they really are
  20. you must be really connected as an NFL insider to have access to ANY of the NFL team's draft boards. the crap posted by the media talking heads is a bunch of group thing which is mostly speculation. Real NFL teams pay big money to real NFL scouts to assess and evaluate which of the college players will turn out to be good in the NFL. The Bills front office has missed more often than not - and has wasted draft picks in acquiring those duds in many cases.
  21. "But only a clairvoyant would have considered Oher a "value" at #11." This is only true if teams are using Mel Kiper's big board as their sole draft resource. Good teams know who the good players are and they would not have considered a starting caliber LT a reach at #11, or anywhere else in the draft. unfortunately, the Bills scouting dept, led by Modrak, have been abysmal at identifying between the studs and duds (except of course in Modrak in his after season excuse session where he informs the masses of all of the good guys he really wanted but was overruled on )
  22. waited thru the draft and free agency been waiting for 10 years to bring in some premium OL talent, whether in the draft or free agency
  23. gotta disagree Schobel was the absolute best of all time at running 7 yards upfield on most plays and then having the QB run into him for a sack on a busted play once every 3 games the best ever
  24. neglecting the OL sounds like the same short-sighted stupidity of the past decade - but with a better fan friendly spin
