How does our defense suck this bad??????????
spartacus replied to DUFF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
people don't want to hear it, but Dick played the only defense that could games close by not giving up quick scores and big yardage. The cover-2 forced teams to not make many mistakes to go long distances for scores. That defense worked against medicre teams- of which there are many in the NFL. Nix and Gailey made the switch in defense to ensure a tanked season. They need a QB and need the top pick in the draft to ensure it. At some point, when they replace the entire front 7, the 3-4 may work to beat real NFL teams - but that won't be anytime soon -
Wouldn't be shocked to see George Edwards fired this week.
spartacus replied to Cuze's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
as bad as Edwards may be , Cottrell is worse if he does not have Wade Phillips covering for him Cottrell has been fired as DC from 4 different teams- sounds about right for the Bills -
wouldn't be surprised if Buddy still lives in Tenn we know Modrak lives in Flordia

pretty laughable that the US is accusing China of currency manipulation China is slowing down the Fed's plan to de-value to the dollar so it can pay back its debt in inflated dollars. I's sure the Chinese as majority holders of our debt are pleased as punch to having their debt paid back with monopoly money It won't be long before the US dollar is no longer the world's reserve currency - even shorter if Geitner pushes the world into a currency and trade war. -
OK, before we get into the revisionist history

"And We never should have accepted Phillys second 1st round pick. If he had their 21 we could of had Oher." "Accepted" is the right word - because Philly offered the higher #1 - but the Bills rejected it and took the lower pick plus the extra 4th rounder more picks is better is the Bills mantra quality players be damned -
who is this "respected" GM and head coach of whom you speak? Nix was fired from his last job as national scout, who the Bills hired from retirement in Tennessee (as a scout) He then was promoted to a GM he has never performed in the past in a search that extended all the way to Modrak and John Guy - who was then promptly fired. not sure how he has earned "respect" as a GM- other than in Bills fans fantasy world. Gailey is even worse Fired from his last job as OC before the season - but not good enough then to be brought in to fix the Bills after we fired Turk at the same time. Fired from GT after 6 years of piss-poor talent acquisition and mediocre production on the field. The claim of each that they need to use the entire 2010 season to evaluate talent on the team should be a huge red flag to anyone thinking this group can achieve their stated objective of "building thru the draft" - where they will be need to identify players from the college ranks playing vastly systems and environments than that of the NFL. Cornell Green, Incognito, Scott, invisible 2010 draft class - the early returns of evaluating talent are not good but maybe Chan thinks red-shirting players is the proper way to subtly tank a season. I guess the fans deserve a 20 game pre-season.

2 interesting links on Lynch and McCargo
spartacus replied to AllDayADay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shefter said the Bills turned down a 3rd rounder from Seattle the week before the trade. could be the Bills chose to convert that 3rd rounder into a 4th and 6th in 2012 since in their fantasy world - 2 picks is better than 1. -
the saddest part is Buddy was on the payroll all of last year, so it's not like he came in cold at the last minute and was surprised. hell- he had input to the Maybin pick last year old age is definitely impacting his talent evaluation skills

David Nelson brings up an interesting concept. I believe signing Nelson was the direct aftermath of the infatuation with Tim Tebow. Although denied vehemently by the Bills, the grand scheme was to bring Tebow and Spiller in to run the spread offense. Ralph's reaction to Dnever's moves in the draft to steal Tebow speak volumes about the Bills true intentions. The little real live scouting the team did was focused on the Gators and Tebow, and turned up Nelson as a viable WR prospect. Once Tebow was gone, their QB was gone and plan B was to tank the season to as to not lose out on a QB in 2011. The fact that the Bills have squat for OTs means either - Gailey and Nix are complete morons or by design they are tanking the season. Further enhanced by the fact that the Bills cut loose restricted free agents Scott and Incognito - 2 guys who would have been huge upgrades to the crap on the OL now.

Correction may not be necessary hard to believe that Sully's column was not written the day before and leaked to the Bills since it was on-line early in the morning

Jay Glazier's comments about Buffalo...
spartacus replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shefter said Seattle offered a 3rd just last week for Lynch. Instead the Bills wanted 2 picks - so took a lower #4 and a 6th a year later. They did the same thing with teh Eagles with Peters - where they took thier lower 1st rounder but got an extra low round pick the Bills grade trades by the number of picks, not the quality of the picks. -
Five Myths That Continue To Pervade TSW

gotta love that Maybin pick made while he was employed as head scout he does know talent look how many of this year's picks are contributing -
Nix has got a lotta 'splainin' to do
spartacus replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he would have a whole pile of money to spend if he had cut Stroud and Kelsay, instead of giving Kelsay a massive extension. -
I watched Kelsay closely today and ...
spartacus replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
your problem is you are too used to bad play. If Poz was any good and had any speed, he should be taking angles to the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage, not 8 yards downfield. He is slow - but because he is white, he gets a free pass -
Where is the Front Office at this time
spartacus replied to pimp on da' net's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph lives in Detroit Buddy lives in Tennessee Modrak lives in Florida Conveniently - all of town and unavailable to address the tortured fanbase -
Nix and Gailery are trying to figure out to how to draft a QB- but only after having him on the team for several live regualar season games, so they can adequately assess his abilities Prior games and tape review is just so inconclusive to base draft picks on Their talent evalaution process worked so good with Trent that they are trying to patent it and apply it next year's QB class.

Teams are built through the draft....
spartacus replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and then the drafted players would have proven to be duds because the talent evaluators don't have a clue the coaches would be fired - but the inept talent evaluators retained and the process would start over - with the new staff changing schemes so whatever good players are around will not fit and will have to be cut loose and put in new postions they have never played before. but it would be a 3 year plan -
Teams are built through the draft....
spartacus replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any building thru the draft is impossible until the Bills find some talent evaluators who can produce some playmakers with those draft picks. The Bills drafts have been collosal failures for the last 10 years producing no true difference makers With no significant talent brought in by trade or free agency, this team will not improve any time soon. -
the constant over those regimes is Jim Overdorf--who has shown a strong habit for acquiring and overpaying slow, white defensive players It's bad enough they extended him, but why after game 3? probably another pluy they use for any real player wanting to get paid marekt value - where they can point to Kelsay and say you need to play the game and we will take care of you.
-
Chan may have decided to bench Trent, but I believe Overdorf is the one who cut him to save some bucks - just like he cut loose Walker when he didn't shine at LT
-
Chris Kelsay- but only after they give him an extension

gotta like that statement screw up enough and we will pay you to sit at home away from the embarrasment of this inept organization if you do have any talent, you can get picked up and paid by another (a real) NFL team
