The fact is the Bills did not close the deal, again. The fact is Wake is a good pass rusher for the Dolphins, while the Bills have squat. Facts do suck
-
that's because Wake is really good and is getting to the point where he can't be blocked consistently one on one too bad the Bills were asleep at the switch when Wake came down from the CFL
-
yeah - he grades the picks he graded Maybin the best pass rusher last year he graded POZ the best LB the year he came out he graded McCargo very high as a DT- beter than Mangold as a C
-
It's on record that Marv said immediately after the draft that the Bills had POZ rated as the top LB ahead of Willis. Modrak is doing the rankings, so he had POZ ahead of Willis. Marv typically did not outright lie, so you connect the dots.
-
The entire draft plan was built around Joey H. When Detroit took Joey, Teflon Tom panicked and took Fat Mike instead of McKinney who was the proto-type LT who had never given up a sack to that point.
-
If Modrak is doing the ranking, having POZ ranked ahead of Willis is all you need to know about his ability to evaluate talent. Putting Maybin at the top of the pass rushers seals the deal.
-
not making the playoffs for more than a decade is so much better for the fans
-
seems that our national scout at the time (now our rookie GM) and our director of college scouting couldn't break away from their retirement homes to properly scout and evaluate players that year(or any year for that matter) gives you a warm fuzzy regarding Buddy's plan to build exclusively through the draft
-
The trigger event was an altercation between Polian and Linda Bogden during a draft. Ralph had the brilliant idea to make his daughter a scout and have her involved in the draft. Rumor has it that she was scouting offensive linemen. Polian put a premium on a strong OL and got flak from Bogden in the draft room about selections. He called her a bad word and Ralph was pissed. Seems he was so pissed that he has refused to build a strong OL since Polian left, just to spite him and his philosophy.

you might have an argument if Bell was even adequate at LT- which he is not you need a LT and a RT - in addition to a C that does not resemble a revolving door- could be Wood, but they did not keep Incognito to make that experiment work
-
no - they are paying Kelly to spout the company line- since there is no one in the front office with any credibility with the big market owners hell-bent on reducing revenue sharing with the small markets- there is no way someone making a $1 billion investment keeps the team in Buffalo where there is no ccorporate support
-
continuing with Occam's Razor - now we know what the Bills are paying Kelly for

Are we really going to let Poz become a free agent?
spartacus replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix could have determined last year that most of the roster sucked if he had bothered to watch the team play last year, instead of lounging around his house in Tennessee in semi-retirement maybe he should have kept Scott and Incognito to see what they could do in 2010 instead of letting go for nothing both would be massive upgrades to what we have on the OL now - and both would have cost less than Cornell Green -
Bills fans are the most gullible in the world Only in their fantasy world does the Director of College Scouting have no responsibility or accountability for 10 years of failed drafts. Yeah- at the end of each year, he spins the story that he wanted to pick the pro bowl player each year, but he was outvoted by some unnamed mystery man in the organization. OK- only Bills fans would buy that self-serving crap You would think after the first few years of such abuse, he might get pissed and leave the Bills.

Your position is pretty much nonsense. 1. I know the Bills were not followed much by outsiders to the organization, but Buddy was employed all of last season by the Bills. I guess not being the smartest guy in the room is probably pretty accurate. But then again, Buddy probably did not spend much time anywhere near OBD, since he was milking his semi-retiremnet from Tennessee. 2. You claim that they needed to keep what they had to evaluate in this 20 game pre-season. Please explain then why then they did not keep 2 of the better veteran OL players -Incognito and Scott. Incognito would be starting at RG, Wood should be moved to C and Scott would be a huge improvement at either OT. Both of them probably could have been signed for less than the super-stud Cornell Green. These moves alone seriously question the talent evaluation and team building skills of our rookie GM and re-tread coach. The plan has worked for 50 years. Ralph likes it so much, he brought in Brandon to continue it Brandon was brought up in the Marlins organization which pretty much perfected it in the baseball world. However, the Marlins have good scouts and a real GM who actually bring in good, young players who make the team competitive. But no matter how successful the team may be, the bottom line is always number one and the payroll is always at the league bottom .

Do undersized teams suffer more injuries?
spartacus replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
may not be really undersize, but weak players don't hold up either -
He has the size to be better than any OT on the Bills

spartacus replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poz is the best white LB after Kelsay on the team He went to Penn State and is white- so he must be really really good, not to mention that our scouts had him rated better than Willis. almost as good as Hardy was tall we are doomed if he leaves -
Yeah - I guess being retired he couldn't venture too far from his home in Tennessee. Only in Buffalo would none of the top talent evaluators see their #1 pick play and not have any input on his prospects Bills fans are the most gullible in sports to buy this spin

O-line breakdown from Sundays game
spartacus replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
roger saffold could have been starting at LT -
Wow, this is some article written by a former agent
spartacus replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
where do you think Modrak gets all of his top flight info from -
so the Director of College Scouting and the National Scout had nothing to do with the 1st pick It was all Dick's fault Sorry - not buying the Bills spin on all of the bad picks

Name One good player move Nix / Gailey have made?
spartacus replied to BuffaloinLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tebow was the plan why do you think Ralph, who now publicly admits that he is desperate for a QB, almost had a coronary when Denver traded up for Tebow ruining the Bills master plan. They are now into Plan B which is to tank the season for a QB next year. -
Buddy and Modrak sure did a good job evaluating with Maybin. Now you know why Buddy decided to use 2010 as a big pre-season audition, since he can't evaluate talent on film at his age

Bills Could Have Gotten More for Lynch>
spartacus replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone knew he was worth a 3rd. Shefter reported that the Seahawks themselves offered a 3rd rounder to the Bills the week before the trade. The Bills wanted 2 picks, so countered with a 4th and 6th in 2012.
