  1. which is why those teams use top picks on the big front 7 players instead of following the Bills model of wasting top picks on CBs, safeties and LBs that are built like safeties
  2. bounced back to keep that 2-9 season going strong
  3. POZ would have to get close enough to hit him - so that is unlikely
  4. it would be cheaper just to hire good coaches that know what they are doing
  5. imagine how many sacks he would have had with an aggressive coach that knew what he was doing. too bad a chunk of his career was wasted under Walt Corey and those other read and react clowns
  6. absolutely incorrect actually the opposite is true by gutting the defense and allowing record points against, the Bills are in prime position for the # 1 pick and a franchise QB. there is no other explanation for the way the front office handled the moves this year - 1. changing the defense 2. hiring a boob to run the conversion 3. ignoring the 2 huge holes at OT 4. cutting loose the only viable NFL vets on the OL in Incognito and Scott 5. burying all of your draft picks on the pine 6. even considering Trent as the QB- but he proved too toxic and had to scrapped
  7. no Gailey is working to achieve the ultimate goal of getting a franchise QB. they need to lose - but keep fan interest while doing so. so pass the ball to keep things interesting and tank it on the defensive side to keep the losses coming. no sense risking injury and wear and tear on Spiller when he will be needed 3-4 years down the road when the team will hopefully be competitive.
  8. The Pats also drafted Cunningham and Brandon Spikes from UF- both who would be lightyears better than what we have at pass rusher and LB pays for your head talent evaluator to develop a relationship with college coaches at major programs
  9. If Harbaugh is the key, then the Bills should fire Chan and hire Harbaugh and draft Luck as a package deal
  10. grabbing Merriman off of waivers is nothing new - the Bills have brought stop-gap guys in before. They got Scott and Incognito to help on the OL. Although the Bills retained their rights this year, Buddy cut them loose for noithing even though he still does not anyone to play OT. Expect similar treatment of Merriman, as the Bills hide behind the standard - "he did not want to be here" argument.
  11. that's why most NFL teams employ quality talent evaluators who have expertise in identifying whether players can transition from college or the CFL to the NFL. Those teams would not have picked Maybin in the top 12. Instead of paying Wake $4.9 mil over 4 years, our crackerjack talent guys are paying over $6 mil PER YEAR to a guy we know can't play LB or rush the passer.
  12. those guys would cost more than Chan - not to mention Ralph has a very strong aversion to firing a coach and having to pay another one to do the same job. no chance they get a real DC - who would also be a threat to Chan's longevity People are missing the point. The master plan is finish last to draft a franchise QB. Having a bad offense and a bad defense would go a long way to making it happen Hamstring your offense with no OTs and handicap your defense by switching to a new scheme which none of the players have ever played and get a coach who has never successfully implemented such a conversion. However, it became clear after 2 games that tanking the season on offense was not going to sit well with the fans. Thus, it's all on the defense to keep those losses coming. Re-sign Kelsay and force Edwards to play him Edwards could be the sacrificial lamb in the Buddy Nix rebuild plan.
  13. the Martz offense is tailormade to play against a defense like the Bills which has no pass rush- which will allow Cutler to take deep drops and let his WRs get into their downfield patterns Olsen could be huge in this game because the Bills have never figured out how to cover a TE if that fails, Cutler can always dump off to whovever Kelsay is trailing behind -Forte and Taylor are 2 good backs
  14. you are correct that big runs are thru the C gap. not sure how this isn't the inside backers responsibility, other than that ruins your defense of POZ on most of those plays that Theesman praised POZ, he took the wrong angle and arrived too late to make the tackle behind the line always the case with POZ - takes the wrong angle and is too slow to make up the ground to make any play other than dragging down the RB after a gain.
  15. playing their buts off? They did that for Dick and still managed to win 7 games each year, with worse QB play Chan is still batting 0.0.
  16. The coach and AD should both be fired immediately. Reckless disregard for human life having anyone 50 ft in the air during hurricane force winds -which had blowing all week not to mention he was carrying out the highly critical task of filming the scout team QB throw to red shirt WRs
  17. until the Bills fire Modrak and hire some real NFL talent evaluators, they are capable of blowing picks of any position in the draft. this year it will be a more expensive bust than every year since Mike Williams
  18. this is bupkus - just spin put out by the Brandon PR machine they talked about it for the benefit of the fans, but there was never any serious move to hire anyone of substance - who would demand control of all decisions regarding operations this is clearly supported by the backup plan which involved having John Guy be one of 2 interviewed for the GM position
  19. brilliant evaluation of talent they break the bank for Kelsay but couldn't be bothered to aggressive bring in a real pass rusher in their own backyard - like Cameron Wake.
  20. you will have to wait until 2012 for that type of thing
  21. Marty and Brian Schottenheimer they actually wanted the jobs last year Marty is someone that has successfully turned around several trainwrecks in a very short time frame Rex Ryan has already stated he will let Brain go to work with his dad.
  22. It is a cop-out to excuse the bills because it was a lean year in free agency The Bills had the rights on 2 restricted free agents who would be vast improvements over the current OL imposters again, the talent evaluators blew it
  23. since Incognito was a restricted free agent, he had no say on playing anywhere other than Buffalo but Buddy had better options
  24. that's because the Steelers actually find playmakers in the draft the Bills not so much they had a chance to trade up to get Big Ben but instead chose to waste a boatload of picks on Losman talent evaluation is seriously lacking at OBD
  25. now that you have seen the light - why not get the NFL package and watch real football all season long You can skip right over the Bills games - and avoid the aggravation.
