you are correct 2 years ago they tried to trade up for Tebow After that failed, they tanked last year to get Newton but Luck screwed them over by staying in school and allowed Cam to go #1. don't be surprised if they eventually trade for Tebow now that he has been downgraded in Denver.

now you know the rest of the story about how Ralph finally got into the Hall

looks like Buster Davis is the reason Evans was cut loose Buster is a Buddy guy who totally crapped the bed in SanDiego. Now to make sure Buddy doesn't strike out twice with this turd, he gets rid of Evans to ensure Davis has a spot on the final roster. if healthy, Davis may be able to spread the field, but he has never been on the field long enough to prove it. just another step closer to Andrew Luck

it's tough to build through the draft This is a skewed stat the only reason those undrafted guys make the team is that the drafted guys suck so bad they create too many to full roster spots

Lee Evans difficult to deal with?
spartacus replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sounds like the typical spin from OBD designed to give cover to their stupid player moves seems dirt surfaces on every player the Bills brain trust deems expendable - but not until they leave -
looks like a salary dump trading him for anything other than a starting caliber OT is plain stupid getting draft picks in 2012 does nothing to help this team in 2011 but typical of the Bills Inner Circle Jerk

Aaron Maybin only weighs 228lbs

I'm no fan of Dick as a coach - but he sure has become the scapegoat for the screwups of the entire Bills Inner Circle Jerk. 1. Dick did not cut Walker. He tried him at LT when the front office failed to provide any other alternatives. (Compounding the problem with the no huddle was all on Dick) It was Overdorf who cut Walker to save the money without even notifying the coaching staff. 2. The Bills have been pure genius at keeping a huge cloud over their draft selection process. Nobody takes credit for any pick and nobody is held accountable for any failure to "build thru the draft" successfully. It also allows them to scapegoat whoever is no longer on the team (such as Dick). Fans are being complete tools to believe the propaganda that Dick made all of the bad picks when Ralph personally brought in Nix to vet the picks 2 years ago. For the Bills to have selected Maybin without Nix's approval is unfathomable. Especially when Dick had just escaped being fired a few short months before the draft. -
The Bills are waiting to raid some team's practice squad It's way too early for them to be picking up street free agents rejected by every team in the league since even bad OTs are still employed by some team

and this was after bringing in super-scout Buddy Nix to vet their selections. always good to have a scape goat no longer around to defend themselves -
It would be even better if they had at least 1 NFL caliber starting OT on the roster

Bell hurt? nobody saw that coming good thing we have plenty of capable backups to pick from as his replacement

those sound like the same speeds teams will be achieving on the right side of our OL on the way to the QB

There's an interesting word coming out of Bills camp
spartacus replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The ;last time they ran screens with much frequency was probably 15-50 years ago when they had an OL that could execute a screen. When you try to use castoffs and rejects on your OL, you are limited in what you can run effectively. -
over/under on Shawne Merriman getting injured
spartacus replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he on the 5 year re-build plan as well? the point is the guy lasted one practice last year now he's out after 1 week. does not seem to be adjusting to life off the pharmaceuticals very well -

It sure would be a day off a week into camp with no 2-a-days - after a lockout which requires an accelerated camp schedule yeah - missed on-field time is just the ticket to improving the worst LB group in the league but hey- George Edwards is a really good coach - so he must be right -

now we just need for our NFL opponents to agree to not rush the passer and we will be all set to take advantage of those WRs However, failing that, difficult to realize the explosiveness when your QB is running for his life due to shoddy OT & TE play. -

The reason there weren't more teams chasing Clabo is that most teams in the NFL "build through the draft" However those teams spend premium picks on OL, speciafically OTs, because they know it will ocst an arm and a leg to buy a good one in FA. Except the Bills, who continually claim to be building thru the draft, but have not drafted any of the cornerstones needed for a successful franchise. Thus, they are left to manufacture stories about chasing guys like Clabo, while continuing to rely on practice squad rejects and street free agents. ONE premium pick on an OT since Polian almost 20 years ago left tells you everything you need to know about the Bills commitment to the OL (and any seriousness in their offer to Clabo) -

The only reason Marv took the GM job was that he felt he could parlay it into a herad coaching gig. Marv desparately wanted to coach again. too bad Mularkey ruined his plan be quitting before Marv could fire him mid-season and take over. Marv could never evaluate talent -
such arrogance coming from a fan of the team that signed the Dolphins 3rd string QB and are singing his praises priceless

pretty useless link " Some had pegged the Buffalo Bills offer as being in the neighborhood of $7 million per year, so it sounds like Clabo gave the Falcons a significant hometown discount. Makes that extra negotiating time seem worth it after all." the "source" could have been a poster on a message board not to mention there is no detail regarding guaranteed money or structure of the deal The Bills have become expert at floating these stories of how they aggressively were pursuing certain free agents and coaches to placate the fans. the bottom line is they failed at upgrading the OL and again are expecting practice squad rejects and street free agents to produce. Good thing they got 3 mobile QBs to dodge the blitzers and absorb the punishment. -

the "alleged" knee injury was the cover story to cut their losses Green sucked before any "alleged" knee injury ended his career I don't think anybody is challenging the veracity of what Buddy says Most posters with half a brain are challenging his philosophy of ignoring avenues other than the draft to find playmakers and legitimate NFL talent that he failed to find in the draft For example, raiding other team's practice squads and signing guys off the street and out of football to stock your OL has not proven to be a successful method to build a play off team His method got us 4 wins so it must be working -
Two positions short of being a great team?
spartacus replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you tell me The Bills sure seem to believe they can't spend any resources on the OT position in 15 years since Polian left, they spent ONE premium pick on an OT (and he ate himself out of the league) only Marv had enough juice to open the wallet to bring in some help for the OL. too bad Marv was totally inept as a talent evaluator. and yet Walker has been the best right tackle on this team in a decade. He never should have been cut until a better replacement was found. -
notice that the line scapegoating Dick as responsible for Maybin is not attributed to anyone in the Bills organization My recollection is that it came from Modrak while he was still employed. another in a long line of retroactive revelations from Modrak designed to cover his butt and the other members of the Inner Circle Jerk.

WR Buster Davis signs with Bills

just another name to add to Buddy's highlight reel of 1st round disasters. might as well confirm that he really sucks --- and Buddy's talent evaluation skills are not much better
