Buffalo Bills fire Head Coach Chan Gailey
spartacus replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you might keep the staff if there were qualified NFL caliber coaches on it - but therein lies the problem -
The OL looks respectable only because Fitz gets rid of the ball quickly and the Bills run out of the spread formation Drafting a QB to replace Fitz will be fools gold since he will scarred permanently behind this OL unless he can run like RG3 and Cam

hire some qualified front office and coaching talent that has actually built a team and won with it the actually execute the plan and win in the playoffs in Buffalo all of the crap coming out of OBD is just a diversion from the lack of commitment to winning

People are financially illiterate Borrowing money by itself does nothing to change his net worth or reduce his estate tax, unless he took the borrowed money and threw it out of a helicopter. While his debt goes up, so does the assets he gets cash for the debt In fact, if the assets he bought with the borrowed cash produce more than the debt service on the debt, his total net worth will increase However, the big money deals he gave to Mario Williams and Fitz have generated no return, so I guess those go down as estate planning moves.

Up until now, it has been conjecture that the Bills would leave The buy-out in year 7 for $28M essentially puts a stake in the ground If the new owners have not extorted a new stadium from the public by then, the team is gone. And to expect the yokels that have been dicking over a new Peace Bridge for 30 years to move that quickly is pure fantasy. Enjoy the last 7 years of the Bills in Buffalo.

Here is how I assess this coach and gm
spartacus replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To Buddy's credit, the plan for that first year was to tank the season and draft either Luck or Newton. His plan was pretty good, especially the parts about switching defenses with no players capable of executing the 3-4 and cutting his QB after all of camp and 2 games. There is no other explanation. There is absolutely no way to defend the above moves if they were trying to win. Unfortunately, after starting 0-8, they got cute and screwed up the #1 pick and lost out on Newton. Too bad Buddy fell asleep during the draft the last couple years and they by-passed the QB position. -

Dick did amazing things to win 7 games every year with such a mess of a team Posters make the leap that the talent was bad because Nix dumped lot of it. But in retrospect, it turns out Buddy and Chan don't know what talent is - and wasted a lot of it and a lot of time in gutting teh roster and converting to 3-4 and back to a 4-3. The team still has no LBs 3 years into a re-build For being talent experts, how could Chan and Buddy hitch their wagon to Trent Edwards and invest all of the off-season and camp in him, only to cut him outright 2 games into the season. Somebody screwed the pooch n talent evaluation, and Buddy is his name -
so how much time would you allow for an NFL receiver to figure out how to hold onto the football??

Failed Top Draft Picks in the Polian Era
spartacus replied to Packerland Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Polian may have some misses - but at least he has some impact players to his credit Buddy, not so much -
Meechum is just another example of Buddy's inability to evaluate talent He was willing to go all in on a turd - but was saved the embarrassment only because he was outbid by his former boss
-
that plan works well when the coach is actually worth keeping around the front office is capable of producing "quality drafts" when you are stuck with a glorified offensive coordinator and a dysfunctional front office- waiting around is just delaying the inevitable

Buddy says he wants to draft a QB this year

before jumping on Murray, go watch some film of when he plays the good teams in the SEC. He was absolutely horrible against Florida this year. -

What Pisses Me Off About Bills "Fans"
spartacus replied to Hater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL is fully aware that they do not want a team in LA. LA is much more useful to extort new stadiums from the other cities under threat of a move to LA Now, they can televise the best teams each week with no threat of a blackout -
Wanny had the good fortune of riding the coattails of JImmy Johnson is both Dallas and Miami he totally crapped the bed everywhere else he went without Jimmy

Are Nix & Co. losing on purpose?
spartacus replied to Stan da Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is waht happened when year 1 when they tanked to get Cam Newton. started 0-8 and then won 3 lousy games and got screwed when Luck stayed in school could not even tank the season properly -
of courser he is in a catch 22 when his coach tells him to kick it short (just like with Moorman) and then use the short kicks as a reason to cut him.
