  1. McCoy won't have the benefit of a Chip Kelly or Andy Reid offense here. He also won't have a dominant run blocking offensive line like he had for most of his career in Philly. Look at how the other RBs have done there in that time...even the past two years with Bryce Brown and Darren Sproles. McCoy is a good player, but he won't be putting up those kinds of numbers here. He's not a punishing runner. He needs to get to the second level to do most of his damage. The guy dances around in the backfield too much and he won't get away with that here. He's a better version of CJ. On the other hand, if Greg Roman really is an upgrade to Marrone's cluelessness (and how could he not be?), I think Fred Jackson will benefit most from it. Everyone is quick to say he's lost a step, but not only was he playing hurt last year, but he's never been the burner type anyway. McCoy will get more chances because of his name, his contract and who we gave up to get him, but by the end of the year, Fred will again prove to be the best RB on the team. Yes, he's getting up there in age, but take a wild guess as to who has more career carries between the two.
  2. McCoy will flop. But fret not Bills fans. Fred will pick up the slack and lead this team to the playoffs.
  3. Favourite Buffalo Bill ever. And I was a fan during the Super Bowl era.
  4. lol...what?!? I wonder who your top tier list includes if brady, rodgers, roethlisberger aren't on it
  5. Good move. Anything that involves more nickell robey on the field is good with me.
  6. Absolutely. Only because I think that we finally have a team and coaching staff that can beat them at full-strength.
  7. i'd say his status is rocky at best...he's going to need a good camp to put him over the top
  8. Keep the bashing coming. It appears as though many of you haven't actually watched McCoy play, but are just going by the stat sheet. The guy is good, but has been very fortunate throughout his time in Philly. He's had the benefit of having one of the best o-lines as well as some of the best offensive coaching in the league throughout his career. Look at how any of the backups have done while he's been there...Brown, Sproles, etc. And not to mention, he's got quite a bit of mileage on him now. As for Fred, he's never had a good o-line despite what the genius upthread is saying. In terms of offensive acumen, Gailey is the only decent coach he's had. Compared to Andy Reid and Chip Kelly, what he's dealt with is laughable. He outplayed Lynch while he was here, who is now considered one of the best in the league. He outplayed Spiller. And he will now outplay the latest hotshot here to take his job. McCoy had the luxury of running through gaping holes and getting to the second level where he did most of his damage while in Philly. He will not have that here. I hope he does well, but I'm just warning many of you to temper your enthusiasm. You may have the same gripes with McCoy as you did with Spiller. Too much dancing behind the line and not enough powering through. Whereas someone like Fred knows when to put his head down and drive into a tackler, but is also elite at making the first guy miss. Not to mention he's a better blocker and receiver too. No, he doesn't have the top end speed as some, but he never has. That's not his game. As for him losing a step or whatever, please keep in mind that he has less career carries than McCoy. A fact easily overlooked by the resident ageists on the board. The running game will be improved with Roman and Kromer here now, and the biggest beneficiary will be Fred.
  9. He's still the best RB on the roster. It sounds crazy to say that now, but you'll see midway through the season when he's outplaying mccoy.
  10. Without a franchise QB, that becomes almost impossible.
  11. FFS! Another thread about the Patriots???? Can a mod just combine all of them? Is it really necessary to have over 50% of the topics on the main page be about another football team?? This is all over the internet anyway. How about some Bills talk?
  12. It's really kind of pathetic at how much Patriots talk there is on this message board. Look at the list of topics on the first page of this forum. I know it's relatively big news, and there's kind of a lull in Bills land right now, but still. This is overboard. Yes, they've been dominating the division for too long. And yes, they've done some shady things. But keep in mind that even if the Bills had been undefeated against them for the last 15 years, we'd have only made the playoffs once or twice in that time anyway.
  13. so weird...i was going to post this exact msg word for word...what are the odds??
  14. If this does happen, the best part is that it is officially part of his legacy. Of course there was conjecture before, but this is something that will directly stick to him. I don't hate him as much as many on this board, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't taking pleasure in all of this.
  15. He'll be unseated by Garoppolo and then we'll trade a first round pick for him in the off-season. He'll have some big games in the first half of 2016. Some nice deep bombs to Peerless Price, probably. But then other teams will catch on and just blitz on every play and we'll miss the playoffs.
  16. The run offense will be most effective out of the spread for the most part. The way Chan used to do it. They don't have much of a choice with the crappy QBs and shaky o-line at their disposal. I hope Roman doesn't try to fit his scheme to the players, but rather the other way around. The Bills have three really good receivers and should have all of them on the field as much as possible. Along with lining Clay up wide from time to time.
  17. I hope he does well on the field, but this guy really is an idiot.
