Good point, I forgot about Belicheck's SB wins as Parcell's D-coordinator. That brings the total up to 8.

Why pull out the race card? I have not seen one person on this board get "all giddy" over white Buffalo Bills. I will agree that linebackers from Penn. State get special respect, but that is usually well deserved. In fact if anything, I have seen the white guys on the Bills get bashed more then anything else....Schobel and Kelsey leading the bash party. Poz has played worse then I had hoped this season. But so has the entire defense. I'll give the kid one thing, when he hits somebody, they go down instantly. That is something you can build on as he learns to shed blockers better - don't forget he's only in his second season.

How does Ralph market Dick Jauron for 2009-10?
VJ91 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outstanding, I laughed out loud. -
So that would put Parcells as team president with impressive looking Sporano as his coach in Miami, Belicheck still coach in New England, and Cowher coaching in New York for the Jets. If my math is correct, that would be a combined 6 SB Championships worth of front office and head coaching experience facing the Bills twice a season starting next year. Ralph Wilson won't have anything to laugh about if that rumor becomes reality.
-
Top coach. He could help Brandon find the best free agents after he settles in. You are right on about Tony Sporano, I never heard of the guy other then he coached with Parcells in Dallas. But I really like the job he's doing down there.

I'm sure Pipe will concurr with your declaration, Kipers, if you don't mind me calling you that. Thank you for the calm almost peaceful reply to my angry post. Furthermore, with this final reply in this thread, please let me say that I wish you the best in your boycott endeavors, and look forward with cynical interest, to the outcome from my complacent home.
-
I support the Buffalo Bills. I don't support idiotic ideas like trying to boycott home games of the Buffalo Bills.
-
What is this, the American Revolution I'm standing up against? Am I trying to convince you to pay the King's tea taxes or something? You guys are nuts, you know that? I'm done with this boycott crap. Go ahead and knock yourselves out, and boycott away. I'll be home watching the Pats game to if you brave freedom fighters are able to defeat your fear and win the revolution against the evil King Ralph. Good luck with that.

Here is what you should all do: Write to Toronto or Los Angeles or San Antonio, tell them to please take the Buffalo Bills off your tortured hands. Poll all your money, and pay Wilson for the moving expenses. Go out to RWS, all 73,000 strong of you Bills Nation miracle workers, and wear the same shirt that says: WE HATE HAVING AN NFL TEAM AND NOW WE LOVE OUR EMPTY STADIUM. I'm sure ESPN will be all over that story.

Oh my goodness...how pathetic can you get
VJ91 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's some quotes from two real NFL head coaches: "Wow, what a beautiful football game!"......"No really, I told the guys, winning ugly means nothing, we came back and won and who cares about style points?"; Mike Tomlin after the Steelers came back in the 4th quarter to beat Dallas last Sunday. "I got on the veterans, told them I expected more out of them, and they gave it to me the last few games."' Tony Sporano, Dolphins head coach after they beat the Bills Sunday. And he "got on the veterans" and demanded more DURING A STEAK OF WINNING 6 OUT OF THEIR LAST 7 GAMES. We Bills fans get DJ, who tells us he sees passion in his players and that they are really working hard, DURING A STEAK OF THEM LOSING 6 OF THEIR LAST 7 GAMES. -
Four of the past ten Super Bowl winners had "franchise first round pick" quarterbacks start. John Elway, Ben Roethlesberger, Peyton Manning & Eli Manning. The other 6?: Back-up undrafted free agent Kurt Warner, free agent Trent Dilfer, 6th round draft choice Tom Brady (3 times, and was the back up QB starting the season of his first one) and free agent Brad Johnson for the Bucs' SB win. So who really cares about drafting that "franchise quarterback", when 60% of the past 10 SB winners won without drafting one themselves? Maybe the China Doll, Trent "Warm Weather" Edwards will lift more weights this coming off season, find some additional mental toughness, and become a fine starting QB in his third year. There are much more important pieces of the Bills' puzzle to put back together then to waste the money and draft pick on the high priced rookie quarterback.
-
Looking at the teams that are close and can win while Buffalo loses out, I think they may be able to finish as high as 9th at 6-10, realistically. When they pick from 9th to 13th, I think it really is about time they draft the best offensive or defensive linemen available. Their forays into free agency have not come close to fielding any pro bowl type linemen since forever.

Now that Bills have no shot at division ...
VJ91 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to put up with Penningtons' corny personality and noodle arm right about now. As for who I want to see win the division, it's the Baltimore Colts. Oops, I mean the Indy Colts. Oops, that's right, they play in the recently invented AFC South now, don't they? Well then I have to say the Jets, because I can't help despising the Pats and Dolphins. -
OK, I'll say what I want. Give the Bills a now healthier Jake Delhomme and his O-Line, and Lee Evans stats are right up there with Steve Smiths, in my humble opinion. Conversely, put Steve Smith out there with Trent "Warm-Weather" Edwards and/or J.P. Lost-man throwing behind the Bills' biggest, weakest O-line in football, and he would be lucky to have Evans' stats right now. And I say, based on watching the Bills offense the past three weeks, that is proof that HORRIBLE quarterbacks throwing behind HORRIBLE offensive lines find ways to make bad plays.

Since we aren't making the playoffs
VJ91 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great idea. Let's do it. Wait a minute, we can't do it. Unfortunately the Bills have to do it. Damn, and to think you had me all fired up there for a minute. As for the Bills, well it will most likely be cold and windy next week in New Jersey, and there could be a ton of snow up in Denver, and we all know how nasty bone chilling the weather can be at the Ralph on December 28th, so I just can't see how our beloved Buffalo Bills will be able to put up with all of that horrible winter weather. I suggest you keep thinking those positive thoughts and be ready to accept a 6-10 record. -
Really? Then what was the meaning of your post in the first place, if we are only talking about hypothetical statements, dude. You're the one who said the day you found out the Bills lost their last 3 games on purpose would be the day you stopped rooting for them, not me. So I guess since we are not talking in realistic terms, you won't ever stop rooting for Bills like the rest of us out here, and we can just forget you ever posted that message in the first place, right dude?
-
Most of your observations are pretty good. I have a couple of additions or changes: 1. Lost-man sucks, and won't ever be a starter in the NFL. 5. Derek Fine needs to start and play the last 3 games. 8. Excellent sentence, no swagger or identity hits the nail right on the head. In fact, some of them should never play another down in the NFL.

Begging him to come back, huh? That's funny. 20 years ago they were probably thrilled to see him go after his Browns lost their 3rd AFC Championship to the Broncos in 4 years! Those damn Broncos. Even though I always thought the Browns were a stronger, tougher NFC type AFC team and would have given the Giants, Redskins and even 49ers a better game then the helpless Broncos did, Marty just could not get past them and into any of those SB's. Here we are almost 20 years later and the poor Browns' fans are so frustrated, they are begging that same coach to come back again. Why not? Dick Vermiel came back so many years later and won a SB for the Rams in '99. The Eagles still had not nor have not won a SB so I'm sure those fans wished he would have come back to Philly instead of going to St. Louis.

I was at that Miami game, stormed the field but did not climb the goalposts, and it was one of the great Bills games I attended. But what exactly is your point? Those Knox teams were tough and played hard, but put some YouTubes of the Kelly years on this thread if you want to really make Bills' fans sick to their stomachs. Why not show the Raiders' AFC Championship blow out? Or feature the no - punt 49ers win from 1992! Sure it's great to see Joe Cribbs, Fergy, insane Dobler and the Bermuda Triangle again. But to see actual NFL Hall of Famers playing together on one team during one era, show some steams of the 1988 to 1996 Bills!!

You're joking right? Please click the link below and welcome yourself back to the real world. It took me all of 2 seconds to find it, and it was one of the less vulgar posts on this Browns' forum that is set up identically to ours. http://thebrownsboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1442

So how old is McDaniel, 20? After Mangini went to the Jets, it seems all you have to do is coach one year in New England and everyone wants to make you their head coach, even if you aren't old enough to drink yet. And you think that New England's offense is no better then Buffalo's?? So Lee Evans is just as good as Randy Moss? And Josh Reed and his 30 catches a season are just as good as Welker's 98 in your mind? And the Pats' offensive line is no better then the Bills either, right? The only difference is this Josh McDaniel genius. If he came to Buffalo, Derek Dockery would be a Pro Bowl guard, Duke Preston would be able to call out the defenses when he doesn't even know what offense he's in, and Josh Reed would lead the NFL in receptions next year. Wow. If all of that were true, Ralph had better get Brandon up to New England the minute their season ends.

We suck? We didn't suck when the Bills were 4-0 and then 5-1, did we? Did we piss you off when we were reveling in the fact that 99% of teams that started 4-0 and even 5-1 made the playoffs in the last 30 feakin' years of the NFL? Did we piss you off when we were excited about this young team and their run to the playoffs?? That was OK, right? But then this team, this year, with these players and these coaches somehow turn into gutless losers and go from 5-1 to 6-7, and we are supposed to continue to cheer them on?? Why? Why do I suck if I want to vent my anger at the players and coaches? My family and then I paid for season tickets and went to every game from 1973 to 1996. Can you match that? I traveled to 10 road games and even went to one Super Bowl only to watch the Redskins blow out the Bills. I'm a true blue Bills fan, yet I think it is only fair and our right as fans to get pissed when they play lousy.

Anyone else notice when Royal dropped the slant
VJ91 replied to Haven Moses's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course Lost-man was pissed. It was one of his few good passes. Robert Royal being on the field and running that pattern makes perfect sense this far into the season for Turk-ey's offense. The rookie Derek Fine has caught every pass thrown to him since he came back from his injury and Royal has dropped and fumbled passes all year. So naturally Fine rides the bench while Royal runs the important TE routes.
