  1. Unless of course by some miracle its against the Buffalo Bills, I hope the Bears win a SB before McDaniels' Broncos even play in an AFC Conference Championship game. Jay Cutler for freakin' Kyle Orton? And John idiot Clayton was complimenting the Broncos for that trade, of course talking up the two 1st round picks (that is always a good thing to get in any trade), but also that Orton will be a better "systems QB" then Cutler would have been?? Yeah right. In one season last year, Cutler set almost every team single season record for the Broncos.....and compared to any single season of the Bears in their 90 some year history! I did not notice Belicheck trading Tom Brady and keeping Cassell, did you? I don't think so. Sorry, no NFL team can afford to trade a young, cocky, talented record setting Pro Bowl QB with a rocket arm, and I don't care how many 1st round picks they "stockpile" in return. STUPID TRADE for the Broncos. And despite Cutler's immature and selfish reaction to McBellicheck trying to trade for Cassell first, McBellicheck was STUPID to try and do that in the first place. I am now a Jay Cutler / Bears secondary fan.
  2. Excellent post. I have been screaming for the Bills to raise all of their ticket prices, including premium seating, up to exactly the NFL team average, for a long time now. It almost seems like Wilson keeps them "by far" the lowest so he can keep complaining how horrible the economy is in Buffalo. I know he is committed to keeping the Bills in Buffalo, so I have no idea why he plays this "woe is me" game. Of course he should raise ticket prices up to the NFL team average. He would not even have to offer Bills Nation an explanation, simply infer that it is the cost of being a fan in the NFL today.
  3. Clay is Bruce Matthews' son and Clay Matthews nephew, I believe? Can a young man coming out of college into the NFL be any STUPIDER then he, with that kind of pedigree and experience to learn from, if he indeed is juicing??
  4. Absolutely, if Jim Kelly's "group" gets the Bills from Wilson or after he dies. Kelly has been quoted (in fact I think he was the first one to come up with the idea before the stupid "Niagara Bills" concept was puked up), that he thinks a new stadium should be built in Niagara Falls. Later, during all the hoopla about appeasing the Canadians by naming the team "Niagara" was being tossed around, Jimbo came out and said no way....if his group owned the Bills, they would always be named the Buffalo Bills. That said, if Kelly's "group" disbands or doesn't win the bid from the Wilson family, I firmly believe the Bills will be long gone to another city altogether. (Los Angeles, San Antonio or even Las Vegas, for example.)
  5. The definition of stupid; someone who misspells it.
  6. Walker shows us all how to earn $5 Million a year in the NFL without working out. The guy reminds me more of Fat Albert then Albert Haynesworth. Don't get me wrong, he's an intelligent speaker and seems like a good person. But someone needs to introduce Langston to the weight room if he ever wants to take his game to the next level.
  7. Very funny. If New York State, Erie County and the city of Buffalo were not as broke and downtrodden as they are, the Bills would never have had to take games to Toronto in the first place. And here you are asking Wilson to refund the state some of their meager $3 Million per season? Here's a question for you. Have you heard that the state of Missouri, the county that the Chiefs play in, and the city of Kansas City are booming lately?? I haven't. And yet, they have put into place and approved most of a 350 Million Dollar renovation of Arrowhead Stadium being done right now. (I know the Hunt family also contributed to the renovation themselves, but most of the funding was public.) Stop whining about the economics of the Buffalo Bills. Just be thankful they are still here, representing Western New York, 7 out of 8 games a season. (Even if that drops to 6, I think it would be better then not having the Buffalo Bills at all.)
  8. Great interview. A few random thoughts, sticking to the football part of the interview, (with heart felt respect for Jim & his family regarding Hunters Hope): Wolf sounds like Hulk Hogan, with his deep voice and telling Jimbo "you're the man, brother" at the end of the interview. I don't know who Kelly's business contact / billionaire or group of millionaires are, but he came right out and said he hoped Ralph "hands over the reins to him, sooner then later." Well, yeah sooner would be better, since Ralph will be gone and the team for sale to the highest bidder if later arrives first. Finally, I don't get this Jim Kelly ownership thing at all. Jimbo has got to be one of the top 5 all time favorite ex-players of Ralph, if not the favorite one still alive today. He keeps tossing out confident comments about his plan to keep the Bills in Buffalo, with the name staying Buffalo Bills by the way, and guarantees us he has the contacts with the financial means to do it. Combine that with the fact Wilson has refused to move the Bills out of town for the last 50 years, and am I the only one who doesn't understand why Wilson has not at least met with Kelly and his people yet?? Well, Kelly is still my all time favorite Buffalo Bill player, and I will keep hoping against hope he can get Wilson to hear his plan before Ralph passes!
  9. Oh that's right, I forgot Preston played center so much last season. Must have been that slide from 5-1-0 to 7-9-0 that prompted me to want to forget most of the offense's play last season. Looking back, I was hoping Brandon would re-sign Preston for depth on the OL. But for him to slam the Bills' organization in his first interview as a Packer, is still pretty funny to me. I predict that Duke can start at guard in the NFL, but if the Packers think they have their starting center in him, they are mistaken. Just my opinion.
  10. Hillarious. Did Duke mention he did everything in his own power to keep the Bills mediocre, being a 4th round draft choice who couldn't even beat out the likes of Melvin Fowler at center??
  11. Drew Rosenhaus came to the wrong organization to renegotiate signed contracts!! At least Peters could hang out with T.O. if they both hold out training camp.
  12. That Miami game in '96 sold out, and was on TV. Sorry, only the Houston Wild Card game was blacked out. The Bills were two time defending AFC Champions, and the week before lost a horrible game at Houston that cost them the AFC East Division Championship. If you remember the first half of that playoff game, (and who doesn't), both the fans and the Bills themselves were down and out about having to regroup and play the very next week at home against the very same Oilers.
  13. The Bills played 9 home playoff games from January 1991 thru January 1997. Their record was 8-1, and a grand total of one of those 9 did not sell out in time to keep it from being blacked out. What kind of idiotic point are you trying to make here, that with an 8-1 record, the Bills didn't have enough of a home field advantage?? Or, because one of 9 playoff games didn't sell out, the Bills' fans didn't care enough about having home playoff games?? Neutral Conference Championship games is the stupidest idea I've ever heard.
  14. The Bills need to pick as high as they can in round one. Trading down makes no sense. They need talent, not depth, on this football team. Until the make the playoffs, at least, they should always pick a player with their first pick in the first round.
  15. You know, the city name of Buffalo still comes before Bills. I grew up in Buffalo, and still love the city, with all of its' boredom and crappy economy and snow. Russ and Ralph did not lease out games to Toronto because Toronto has "better nightlife." They didn't say "Let's play some games in Toronto because Buffalo is so damn boring to hang out in these days." Unfortunately, as much as I am loyal to and love Buffalo, they just don't have the money to support the modern day NFL team, and apparently Toronto does. So what? I don't care if it is cool to mock out boring Buffalo comparing it to exciting and vibrant Toronto. For 6.5 Million guaranteed dollars, T.O. can afford to give downtrodden Buffalo at least a little respect, and nobody would think any less of him. Raptors games?? He should go to one of the last few Sabres games, enjoying it, signing autographs and giving some postive sound bites about the fans and hockey. Buffalo would fall in love with the guy.
  16. And Buffalo isn't??? How's that new Peace Bridge coming along?
  17. On a somewhat serious note, it might not be such a bad idea for T.O. to get the extra work in with his new teammates. After all, at 34 years of age, the dreaded "hammys" might not be far off. Assuming he's not juicing, at his age, one off season to the next can change dramatically as far as what his body can do and not do. I've never heard that T.O.'s off season workouts are "legendary", like Jerry Rice, Andre Reed or Walter Paytons' regimens were. For his one year deal in Buffalo, I just hope the age wall doesn't creep up on him this season. But he knows his own body best, right? Here's hoping.
  18. Now there's a logical comparison, 6 time Pro Bowl future Hall of Famer Terrel Owens and J.P. Losman. Like I said, I don't care if he charges Brandon for limo service to and from Toronto every day, as long as he produces on the field. My point is how sad it is for him and his agent to use Toronto as their egotistical answer for lowering themselves to signing with the Buffalo Bills. Pathetic, but no surprising. Oh well, maybe he can catch lighting in a bottle with the young talent on the Bills and make a playoff run....I'll love it if it happens no matter where he decides to spend his time.
  19. First stop - even before RWS, is Toronto for the weekend?? Man, Owens is really playing into this "North America's Team" crap, isn't he? Hitler was right, this is what we get when Wilson has a marketing guy in charge of football decisions. What's next, an apartment in Toronto for the limelight junkie? I just hope he's got 1,000 yards and 10 TD's in his tank for this one year tour with his Toronto Bills of Orchard Park!
  20. Erie County bends over backwards. Erie County is broke. Poor poor Erie County. (Pun intended.) Why not take your case to the next NFL owners' meeting? Walk in there and tell the other 31 owners that evil Ralph Wilson won't give poor Erie County that bends over backwards a decent break. They might be able to hold off their uncontrolled laughter in before you leave, but I doubt it. Then, after you leave, and they compose themselves, they will tell Wilson how crazy he has been for keeping the team in Buffalo all these years to begin with. Come on, even the most revenue challanged of the other 31 teams have new stadiums that were built with taxpayer money today. Who is left with stadiums as old as the Ralph? Not Green Bay anymore. The shell of Lambeau might still exist, but there's 300 Million of improvements on top of it now. Same with Soldier Field, same story with Arrowhead as 300 Million of improvements are being done to it as we write. I don't know for sure, but with the Jets/Giants new stadium coming along and the new palace in Dallas being built, I think Miami might have the oldest stadium in the league that has not had major improvements, and it is only about 20 or so. (I could be wrong.) I suggest Erie County find the 3 Million dollars and get the damned improvements done, already.
  21. Sure, I'll think about it a little more. You know how much Ralph Wilson earns "after expenses?" How is that? Oh wait, I know, you work for the Bills - in fact you are in the accounting department, and are privy to all the Bills numbers, right? You must be, since "after expenses" means after items that fans don't really know much about, such as workers compensation (that must be a doozy), air travel (no small expense there) and countless others we don't even think about. Wow. $200 Million over the past 10 years, $20 million a year. You think Jerry Jones is jealous of that number, even if you were close to being accurate, which I highly doubt? Jones spends $20 million a year on signing bonuses for players that don't even play for him anymore. I bet Jim Irsay laughs at the thought of only earning $20 million a year in Indy, now that the Colts are playing in Lucas Oil Stadium. Typical small minded bitter Bills fan-speak. Sure, Ralph Wilson is the richest owner in all of sports. Why don't you give Ralph a call and tell him he would be the only owner to walk away wealthy if the NFL shut down today? He could use a good laugh since some idiot was telling the world he died this morning.
  22. Mack, Unger, and Robinson.....after the Bills got burned by Derick freakin' Dockery, one or two of those kids would really make up for that mistake, and add strong athletic potential starting depth for the interior of the Bills line. Especially since Preston took off for Green Bay. I still think his best years are ahead of him and that the Bills should have kept him around.
  23. Brown and Unger would be perfectly fine with me. I still like Mack more then Unger, but I have come around to the logic of taking the higher ranking DE before the lower ranking center. If Robinson is still on the board in round 3, despite the Bills' obvious need at TE, I would like to see them draft him. Having both Unger and Robinson would really strengthen the interior of the Bills line with excellent young athletes.
  24. Nice job catching my "steak" instead of "streak" - and even making an awesome pun out of it. I love the humor on this board, some of you should be writing for Leno and Letterman! - (and I'm not being sarcastic this time. - some of this is very funny stuff out here.)
  25. Wow. Stop watching your old MTV videos of Michael Jackson and Duran Duran and come back to us here in the 21st Century. Ralph Wilson is a modern day hero for not selling this franchise to the highest bidder or moving it to a richer city that resides in a County that isn't broke anytime over the past 20 years or so. The County is broke? No kidding. Do you think that's why Wilson and his marketing guru Brandon are now considering adding a second regular season home game to Toronto, under the guise of keeping the franchise viable for Western New York? Actually, Ralph is most likely kicking himself for being so loyal to Buffalo all these years. Now that the entire American economy is in the tank, he can only envision tens of millions of dollars lost for his heirs when the team is finally sold. For all he knows, he may live to see the day that the entire NFL goes broke under the weight of the economy sinking any further towards a depression. He may be thinking: "If I only would have taken a trip to Baltimore before my old buddy Modell got there?....or Nashville before my old buddy Adams got there...!"
