  1. I plan to watch the show. I remember Joe Cribbs jumped ship to the USFL, and that really pissed me off, since Cribbs was arguably the best pass catching starting RB in the NFL at that time, and Chuck Knox had just quit the Bills to go to Seattle. It was another "perfect storm" of bad things happening to a damn good Bills football team that came an untimely ankle injury to Joe Ferguson late in the 1980 season, from going to their first SB long before anyone had heard of Jim Kelly or Bruce Smith! And think about that 1980 season. Their defense was number 1 in the NFL, and defense wins championships, right? The team that won the SB that season over an average Eagles team was the Oakland Raiders. Earlier in that very regular season, on a picture perfect fall sunny day in Orchard Park, I watched in total amazement as our Bills blew out those Raiders something like 24-3. One of the best games I watched the Bills play in my 40 plus years of being a Bills fan, and my 20 plus years of being a season ticket holder. But alas, Fergy sprained his ankle on the road against the lousy (but improving with young QB Joe Montana) 49ers to clinch the AFC East, and he basically hobbled his way around the field in a gutsy performance against the dynamic Chargers on the road in the Divisional Playoffs, only to watch his team lose in the final minutes. Enter the wildcard Raiders defeating the Chargers in the AFC Championship, and then blowing out the Eagles in the SB. Just amazing how the Bills luck has worked all these years!! But back to reality. I'm not surprised Trump bullied his fellow USFL owners to the pathetic anti-trust lawsuit they won, and then were rewarded one dollar for all their trouble!!
  2. Sure, Bill Polian traded Greg Bell and a bunch of draft picks to the Colts for Bennett. Then the Colts took those draft picks and Greg Bell from the Bills, threw in a couple more picks of their own, and traded them all to the Rams for Erick Dickerson, the best RB in the NFL back then in......1987! You will have to travel to that sparkling new palace with the retractable roof in downtown Indianapolis, (kind of ironic, don't you think?), to find Bill Polian in the Colts' President and GM's office today, 22 years later. He's been building the Colts into SB Champions (2006, their first in Indianapolis) and perennial 10-13 game per season winners since he drafted Peyton Manning with the number one pick way back in 1998, his first year as Colts' GM. So please tell me how that trade from over two decades ago proves that 91 year old Ralph Wilson and his inner circle jerks of today, well on their way to their 10th consecutive playoff - less season, has any realistic chance of pulling off a trade for a linebacker of Merriman's magnitude!?!
  3. The Bills will trade Parrish if they can fax the trade in to the NFL offices in time, and if another team is willing to part with even their 7th round pick in '10's draft!!
  4. "Meet the new boss......same as the old boss." (The Who) Seems like we've sung this song before regarding "bright young offensive coordinators."!!!
  5. Those "better playing" adequate DE's you are defending have been part of the "Fool-Squad" that has allowed 150+, 200+ and 300+ rushing yards against the past three weeks. The Bills have lost 2 of those 3 games. Exactly where does that terrible run defense not allow any room for "experimentation"?? The offense changed their style, and went to the huddle after Fat Van Pelt told us he loved the no huddle. He decided to "experiment", and was forced to start yet another rookie at RT, Meredith, who I thought played his butt off. And yet P-Fool is allowed to keep everything the same, with the same players. The O-Line has suffered injuries, yet they seem to be actually playing better despite them. Fools' linebackers and d-backs have gone down, and his defense keeps getting worse against the run week after week. Does he experiment to find ways for his number one draft choice to get on the field more, to help out with these injuries? Of course not. God forbid Maybin's rookie mistakes cause the Bills to allow 400 or 500 yards rushing against, right?? Kelsay is playing better, I'll give you that. But Denny sucks, and Schoebel isn't sniffing sacks or tackles near the line of scrimmage anymore. It's time to rotate the kid in for at least half the defensive plays. Come on. Fool will start Ashlee Palmer over Nic Harris (and don't get me started on that decision), when Harris was a higher draft pick then Palmer, and Palmer was a free agent rookie anyway, so Harris's talent gets wasted on the bench while Jon freakin' Corto gets more playing time then him. And combined with Maybin, Fool is lining up more street rookie free agents then his own highly regarded draft picks!!
  6. Nobody wants to watch their back up QB play for the "rest of the year." Unless the back up QB is actually better then the starter, that is. You have zero proof that Edwards would have beaten the Jets by 2 TD's had he not gotten injured. The Jets would have brought the heat like they brought against Fitzy, and we all know how Edwards reacts to pressure, don't we? I feel bad for Trent now that he's suffered his second concussion in just over one year. But I don't feel bad enough to start defending him as being so much better then Fitpatrick, because Edwards had just lost three straight games as the starter, and Fitz came in cold and did just enough to help the Bills win the game.
  7. I was thinking the same thing, and so was Dan Fouts. Anybody think that same type of sack against Brady, either Manning or Brees would not have had every ref throwing their flags at the same time? I think the refs really are biased sometimes. Especially if the NFL fines one or both of those Jets after the "no-call' fact. I do give the refs credit for calling the holding penalty against Hartstock - that was one ballsy call against the home team at the worst possible time, and most likely saved the game for the Bills.
  8. That was nothing more then a rookie mistake. And you have to expect some rookie mistakes, when the rookie is only allowed to play around 5-10 snaps per entire football game!
  9. For Maybin to be considered successful, his coach, P-Fool, has to first let him play more then 5 snaps a freakin' game! I love Buffalo Bills coaches these past 10 long years. They scheme and they package and they game plan as if they have the most talented football players in the NFL at their disposal. Read the "thumbs-up" head coach Dick gave P-Fool's MLBer Poz: "He made the right calls and had the players in the right positions." For what? Did Dick watch the Jets blow out Poz's players lining up in the correct positions based on the correct calls for over 300 hundred yards rushing yesterday, or is he really a walking corpse? Why can't Buffalo coaches admit when they suck. I would rather hear Dick or P-Fool say something along the lines of: "We were very lucky Sanchez decided to throw so many bad passes today. Or run defense was horrible, and we better get that fixed this week." Oh no, instead Poz gets commended for calling the plays and reading the offense well enough to hold the Jets under 400 yards rushing. Great job coming back after your annual injury, Poz. Nice tackles 13 yards downfield after over-persuing the wrong way and needing to sprint full speed to catch up to the running back. Hey, at least he calls a good game, right?? Which brings me back to Maybin. P-Fool is so delusional and full of his "system", he has decided Maybin, with all of that speed and raw talent, would actually be worse then Kelsay and Denny most of the games. Hillarious.
  10. If Edwards has another concussion, the Bills would be smart to put him on IR, play Fitz the rest of the season and give the kid plenty of time to recover. It was just about the same time last year when the Cardinals wiped him out for a few weeks. Two concussions in a week or two over one year is dangerous stuff. And I agree that it sucks that Nelson has one too. I also like the kids' potential at TE, and hope he recovers soon.
  11. Who are the "old" ones??
  12. Rex Ryan and his OC lost this game for the Jets. When you run for over 300 yards yet lose the time of possession battle, and the football game, you really must have called a stupid game on offense! How many of those 5 drives that ended in Bills' interceptions would have continued on for potential points had Sanchez just kept handing the ball off to his running backs? Or thrown screens or ran reverses, since no defense over-persues like a Perry Fool defense does!?! This may never happen again and certainly has not happend very often up to this point, but Dick Jauron and his staff actually out-coached their opponents today.
  13. Two words: SCOUTING and COACHING. P-Fool coaches his system, but he doesn't have the right players to succeed with it. That's not to say his defense is talentless, because it is not. They just can't play his Tampa -2 style. Number one, you need a stud MLB and a stud strong safety - Poz looks good, but is injured every year. Whitner is a bust at strong safety. Next, you better have D-Lineman that can shoot their gaps and pressure the QB and shut down the run in the back field at least some of the time. Williams and Stroud seem to be jelling nicley together, but they are simply not good enough without better support from MLB and strong safety. Finally, you are supposed to have at least one if not two great pass rushing DE's since the OLB'ers are used more in pass coverage then blitzing like in the 3-4. Chris Kelsay and Aaron Schobel? Finally, you need CB's that can hit and play great zone defense at the same time. It looks like the Bills CB's have a ton of talent, and this kid Byrd could be one of the steals of the draft at FS. Unfortunately, none of them support the run game worth a buffalo chip. In addition, against good QB's, they tend to get burned in their zone coverages, especially on third downs. So you add all of that up, and we come back to the same conclusion. Ralph needs to blow the whole thing up again. He needs better coaches working with better college and pro scouts, that is, working together to bring the right players in for the right systems!
  14. You're nuts. Maybin never gets on the field. And I don't understand why. Everything starts and ends with this 2-gap 4-3 crap P-Fool lives and dies with. How many more 200 or even (today) 300 yard rushing games are the Bills going to have to give up? Week after week we ask ourselves, as semi-intelligent fans, are the Bills defenders really that wild and stupid all week in practice, sprinting past running backs all day long, or are they coached to sprint through gaps, regardless of what is happening in the play?? Either way, these Bills are giving up chunks of yards on the ground in record numbers lately! At least Maybin has the most speed of the Bills ever-over persuing DE's. That might enable him to catch up faster, or maybe he even might have some natural talent that helps him stay home and tackle a cutting back runner every now and then. Kelsay, Denny and Schobel? Forget it. They never stay home - ever. The instant the backs head the other way they are sprinting across the field leaving their side wide open for cut backs or reverses. By some miracle the Bills won today. Despite giving up over 300 yards rushing. We all know that is not going to happen very often. P-Fool needs to get Maybin out on the field and at least let the kid play in his stupid defense. Rookies need to play, just ask Mark Sanchez. This 5 int.- game will help the kid as he moves forward. I say let Maybin start in place of Kelsay the rest of the season and let the Buffalo - chips fall where they may! What in the world does Fool have to lose??
  15. Please allow me to bring your "Top 7 List" back over to the real world: 1. Marshawn goes crazy and get 68 yds rushing after the first hits he takes behind the line of scrimmage. 2. They huddle up for most of the game and Trent still has no time to throw down field. 3. T.O scores 2 TD's and has at least 8 catches, gets excited and animated, while the Bills still lose the game. 4. Bills get a Defensive touchdown, that gets called back for defensive holding. 5. Poz has breakout first quarter before re-breaking his arm again. 6. Roscoe makes up for last weeks fumble with a punt return score that gets called back for blocking in the back. 7. Bills will play hard and try to get an AFC east win, make the game close, and lose it stupidly in the end. I'm a diehard fan too, have been for over 40 years. I have no hope that at least for one game they will surprise us.
  16. Turk-ey Shoenerts' offense was more complicated last year, how did that turn out for them? Today the Bills will lose to the Jets. We all know it. Even the crazies predicting the upset know deep down the Bills will lose. Of course the Bills will probably make it close, trying to act like they have pride in themselves. T.O. may even catch a TD pass or two. But if it is close, it will be just another set of stupid mistakes, penalties, wasted time outs or bad play calls that will hand the game to the Jets at the end. So tomorrow morning the Bills will be 1-5-0 and we'll start asking for Dick's head all over again. Being a Bills fan these last 10 years has been like being trapped in Puxatawney, PA with Bill Murray in Ground Hogs Day. It's a wonder some of us haven't brought our toasters into the bathtub by now!
  17. What do you want to ask the Broncos, how it felt to win two consecutive SB Championships?
  18. Perfect, he'll fit right in. I'm sure Rex Ryan is chomping at the bit to send his outside rushers against Bell, Meredith / Chambers all day long Sunday.
  19. So would I, as long as he runs through Perry Fool's proper "gaps" first. You know Perry, his guys are always in the correct schemes to be successful, they just keep making mistakes. Despite Mitchell and Buggs going down Sunday, Fool's defense played lights out against the Browns, to be serious and fair for a milisecond here. I hope Draft has a great week of practice and is ready to play some this week however. The Jets offense had no problems what so ever scoring all night - it was their defense that surprisingly sucked against Miami.
  20. Sorry. Wilson won't raise tickets $10.00 each across the board. Ralph needs to make sure ticket prices for his Bills are always going to stay way under league average. That way, he can go on every talk show and interview and complain how he cannot compete in the current NFL, because the WNY economy is so putrid they cannot even afford to pay him average costs for tickets. It is his way of keeping his costs way down until he passes away. Instead of hiring a proven high profile winner like Bill Cowher and then asking the fans to help cover that cost, like in your logical idea of an owner's way to try to win football games again, Wilson keeps his ticket prices low and uses that as his excuse for not being able to afford a Coach / GM like Bill Cowher.
  21. Who is Josh Johnson?
  22. Chris Draft is in his 11th season, has 566 tackles, 15 sacks and 4 interceptions. Overall, he has started 85 out of 139 games played in the NFL. Considering I started a thread today predicting the Bills would only sign a practice player LB from another team, I am extremely impressed with this emergancy pick up by the inner circle jerks! He has very respectable stats and has played a long time in the NFL. If nothing else, maybe he can offer some words of wisdom and / or encouragement to this foundering football team.
  23. Pathetic? 20 "friggin years" starts from what, 1989? So you watched every game starting with the very best run in Buffalo Bills history, including all the games during their 4 straight SB's. What a sacrafice. And even after that run ended, from 1994 through 2000, those Bills teams still made the playoffs 4 out of the 7 seasons. So your first 12 of your 20 "friggin" years were pretty damn good overall to have to "suffer through." These last 8 have been extremely awful, for all of us to watch, I will grant you that. Looking back at my own career as a Bills fan, counting games I had to listen to on the radio that were not sold out, (and I did listen to them), from 1968, the first year I attended a Bills game at the real Rock Pile, through this past Sunday, I have never missed watching any games that I was able to watch or listen to, aside from being away at college or traveling for work reasons years before satalite radio or TV allowed me to listen or watch the Bills from anywhere. I have to estimate I've missed maybe one season's worth in total of Bills games I had no way of watching or listening to, in the past 40 plus seasons as a fan. Pathetic? Not. I love being a fan of the Buffalo Bills. It's been a long amazing run of feeling almost every good emotion and absolutely feeling every bad emotion a football fan could experience. Even typing on this blog is something I enjoy after these horrible loses keep mounting. All evidence points to the Buffalo Bills moving away from WNY in my lifettime without winning a SB allowing me to feel that last good emotion a football fan can experience. It's still been a great ride, and although the team has been pathetic many times over the years, being a fan has never been, to me!
  24. Yup - Calling it here: Jets 42, Bills 3. Get get your asses kicked against' em, Dick.
  25. Yeah bring Quinn in. He can't even complete a four or five yard pass. So we could go from "Captain Check Down" to "Major More Punts". At the very least Quinn would be another head case - project trying to learn the QB postion behind the worst OL in NFL history. And you want to trade players for him? The only players the Bills should trade for before the deadline this year are: better OL-men, better LB's or just plain draft picks.
