Hey, that's great - 9 Championships for the Cleveland Browns. I never said they had no tradition. My point is that since that last Championship in 1964, some 45 years ago, the Buffalo Bills "tradition" is much better. And it made me laugh to listen to Mike Holmgren go on and on about the great Browns' tradition, while he never even gave Russ Brandon the chance to fly out to Seattle and talk to him about the Buffalo Bills.

Mike Holmgren may or may not make a great President in Charge of Football Operations....of Bill Parcells ilk in Miami, for the Browns. That point has been debated already. Personally, I would have liked the guy to have the same position here. But I have a different question. Just what great football "traditions" are there in Cleveland, compared to Buffalo? OK, the Browns entered the NFL 10 years before the Bills entered the AFL, and from 1950 to 1959, they won NFL Championships early and often that first decade under Hall of Fame coach Paul Brown. They won their last NFL Championship in 1964. But how many fans from that 1950 to 1959 era are left today to celebrate that 60 year old "tradition"? The Bills ironically, won their first AFL Championship in 1964, that last year the Browns won the NFL Championship. Comparing both franchises "traditions" since that Championship season of 1964 for both, the Cleveland tradition pales greatly! I could care less about looking up exact number of divisional championships or wildcard playoff seasons for the Browns since 1964, but every one knows two things about them since then: (1) They have NEVER played in a Super Bowl, while the Buffalo Bills have played in FOUR. (2) Their scum bag owner Art Modell left the "tradition-rich" Browns without a team for 3 seasons in the late 90's. while the Bills have never left Orchard Park. What kind of "tradition" is that for the past 46 years in Cleveland? What, the fans "forced" Modell to leave behind the Browns name and ugly plain white and orange uniforms to rot for three years while he took the hundreds of millions from Baltimore and built a Super Bowl WINNING new Ravens team in 5 short years??? That's what the "great" fans of Cleveland call TRADITION?? Wow, how impressive. Maybe if those same tradition-rich fans of Cleveland would have voted for a new stadium to be built during the 25 years Modell begged them for one, they never would have lost their NFL team for 3 years in the first place. Since they lost their first "tradition-rich" NFL team to Baltimore, the great fans of "tradition-rich" Cleveland were rewarded by being forced to pay non-traditional PSL's for their seats to their new stadium for the past 10 years. How great, huh?? The Bills may be struggling to compete financially today, but I will take Buffalo tradition over Clevelands' any day!! Good luck, Holmgren, despite all that "tradition", the Browns suck even more then the Bills!

When Dick Jauron gets fired in January, we will all be relieved to not have to see his calm, unemotional face on the sidelines ever again in charge of the Bills. But T.O. gave him the chance to finally stand up and act like a real head coach of an NFL team yesterday, and predictably, he cowered and did nothing. As Owens screamed at Tyke Tolbert, because I guess Tolbert was supposed to remind T.O. how to line up correctly when Ownes got flagged for not being on the line of scrimmage, didn't we all wish Jauron would have gone over to Owens and sit his diva butt on the bench for the rest of the game?? It would have been awesome to see him lose it after 3 and a half years of zombie like game-time behavior and scream right back at Owens, but that would have been expecting way too much. Instead, DJ could have calmly walked over to Owens, and said "you're out the rest of the game for raising your voice at a coach, even though it goes on all the time on NFL benches, I warned you the first day of training camp, if you do it one time this season, you will be on the bench. So Terrell, sit down." Of course it would make no difference to that game or this season. In fact, it would have cost the Bills a TD, since Owens caught that 46 yard pass the next series to set up a TD. And of course DJ would still get fired this January. Or not? You never know what kind of things can change an entire football team's mentality. Maybe the team would have gained some respect for the coach that they lie about week after week. You know their lie, that they "love playing for him." By DJ benching the one year and gone Diva, the team might have really decided they like Jauron, and maybe they would have actually tried to eliminate mistakes begining next week in Jacksonville. Crazier things have happened in the NFL. I remember the Colts were setting records in giving up rushing yards during the 2006 regular season. Nobody thought they had a chance to win even their first playoff game due to their pourous run defense. One player got healthy and returned to the lineup late in the season, their SS, and all of a sudden their entire defense improved like 100% against the run. They swept through the playoffs and beat the Bears in the SB. Of course I'm not saying the Bills have that kind of talent to win the SB this season. But my point is, it sometimes only takes one player, or one coach, to make a positive statement or come back from an injury, to improve the entire team. Remember when Singletary threw his diva tight end out of the stadium last year? Kicked his butt right into the locker room? They finished up 5-4-0 in their last 9 games. Anyway, the Bills suck so bad in so many positions, I don't think Vince Lombardi could figure out how to take this group at this point, and go even 4-3-0 the rest of the way! But DJ could have benched Owens, if only to gain some long lost self respect as he coaches his last 7 games of his NFL head coaching career.

I can't imagine how good the Bills would be with Chris Petersen as head coach. I can't, because I don't know who he is! Will someone enlighten me with his bio??

Well, it's hard to win a game in the NFL.

It was frustrating, and disapointing to Bills nation and of course to the organization and players themselves. But to think that winning 4 consecutive AFC Championships to represent in 4 consecutive Super Bowls should be considered an embarrassment, is extremely shallow and ingnorant. They lost all 4 games, but guess what, they are still the only team in the 44 year history of the Super Bowl, to play in 4 consecutive ones. And so far, the Hall of Fame voters seem to disagree with your "embarrassment" take, since Levy, Kelly, Thomas and Smith were all voted in on their first ballots, Ralph Wilson made it in last year, and Andre Reed will make it soon enough.

Absolutely. He still pulled the ball back when he had time to throw. Now I know he never had a lot of time, and idiot Fat Van Pelt continues to make him take 5 step drops all day long, I know that. Yet he either is too egotistical to throw too many interceptions, or he has unrealistic expectations of how open his receivers have to be before he throws the dam football. He sucks, and I can't wait until he is either our full time back up or is cut altogether. And what was up with those pathetic passes he threw to Owens when he had plenty of time to throw, late in the game? Even DJ saw he needed to be benched after that amazingly bad series. Now, if the kid is hurting from headaches, then I'm sorry I bashed him. Maybe he was hurting. But if that's the case, then give him the rest of this lost season off to heal up completely. I find it hard to understand, however, you would think that if he was protecting his head from getting hit again, he would stop pulling back on those passes and get rid of the ball even more!

Of course you accept the penalty and knock them out of field goal range. Especially when their kicker is Baronis, who has a rocket for a leg. But this is DJ we're talking about here. Nothing he does makes sense, and I can't wait until he's gone.

Russ Brandon sold the fans on hope these past two seasons. And bringing T.O. in helped him sell out this season. Don't worry, it's all over for him and Ralph as far as selling seats, luxury seats and gear. Wilson won't fire Dick, so you will see a lot of empty "sold" seats on TV home games the rest of this year. The Toronto game will be another joke, as more Jets fans will show up then Bills fans. Actually, seeing how bad the Jets are playing lately, there may not be fans of either team there. The Bills will continue to self destruct and get injured and this season will end up 5-11-0, same as Mularkey's last season, before Marv and Dick came along to extend the misery four more years. There will be mass cancellations of season tickets unless Wilson brings in a proven, experienced football man to take over the organization, as Vic Carucci seems to think he will be hiring. If and when that guy comes in, he will have some serious cleaning house and some even better moves to make in free agency and the draft, before Brandon (if he's still around) will be able to sell us 7 more sold out home games for 2010!!

F*uck your life? May I suggest you find another hobby outside of Bills football, you are over stressed. Besides, next season the Bills will have a different DC who will most likely not run this idiotic "gap" defense. Watch for Fewell's comments this coming week, he will once again blame his players for not being in their proper gaps. the problem is, they haven't been able to figure out what ther proper gaps are since he started coaching this scheme over 3 and half years ago, now.

This is not a vaild thread at least until the Bills are mathematically elimated from the division race, and then the playoffs completely. Every fan, no matter how bad the coaching or team may be, should root for wins every game. But while I do always root for them to win, after they can no longer make the playoffs, loses don't upset me at all.

Thank you. I do enjoy being "dumb as hell." By the way, WHEN Eric Wood moves over to center next year, you can go ahead and call yourself "dumber then dumb as hell." Because the real football coach running the Bills next year will cut Hangartner or stick his sorry butt back on the bench. And a real NFL coach would have started Wood at center from day one. And if Nic Harris is such a natural linebacker, why did the Bills move him back to safety at all? And if Harris is now back at his "natural NFL position of LB", after looking so promising there every time he's been allowed to play, why not just let him start with Palmer backing him up. so Scott can come back and continue his good playing at strong saftey, which has been his only position he's played in the NFL so far?? I'll tell you why, because DJ and Fewell and the coaches on the Bills are the ones that are "dumb as hell." And one last thing. I would rather have Andy Levitre starting at right tackle for the Bills this season, with his freakin' midget arrms and all, then any of the bartenders the Bills have brought in off the street. At least Levitre would have gone into practice playing the same position he played in college, right Einstein? And I bet Levitre would be a better option if kept out there at RT, then the 5th round draft pick that ended up on the Packers practice squad that the Bills picked up and are now starting, the awesome Jamon Meredith. Or is he still injured too?

Vince Young and Brian Brohm would sure look a hell of a lot better on the Bills sideline right about now then Trent Edwards and Gibran Hamden! (With appoligies to the "Chroisen one's Fan Club".) The Titans letting Young go would be very interesting. I also agree this kid has tons of potential. But before we get too excited, he could very well help the Titans win out or go 7-1-0 or even 6-2-0 putting up good stats, and of course the Titans would then be stupid to trade or cut him - even if he has a huge contract extension looming due to his high draft choice back in '06.
