Don't leave out the Eagles getting ripped on for these picks: All starters on their Super Bowl team last year and 3 Pro Bowlers (only Brown has not made it).
-
Only in a place like Philly would something like this happen - at an NHL game: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/recap;_ylt=Ahj...6042815&prov=ap

Thought I'd throw in this little tidbit from the recap of tonight's game: link: BppqtU4EToeP7yeuHFsx7vLYF?gid=2006042615]http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/recap;_ylt=Aip...?gid=2006042615

Youre right, forgot he was around before Palmer was elected pres.
-
Novick didn't come on board until season 2 as Chief of Staff for the newly elected President Palmer. And you may have forgotten that he was the leader of the "insurrection" to remove Palmer from office, not sure how he would not be fired for that. Seems like after tonight Pierce won't be around much longer, if he still is. Solid episode tonight, I thought, alot of ballsy moves, especially for Karen Hays to call up Novick like that. Not often someone in that "type" of role on this show does something right. Although it'd be better if she just killed that Myles moron. And I can definitely see a spin-off show revolving around Curtis "Bad Ass" Manning, love that guy.

Predictions for Saturdays Game
theNose76 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
82 - 0. Mike Foligno comes down from the stands and scores an empty netter using only his nose, which breaks again for the 597th time. -
I believe Pierce, Jack, and Kim are the only characters still alive/on the show from the first season. Pierce is the man - but he's prolly a gonner.
-
Wow - 2-0 after about 3 minutes - looks like it's going to be about 24-0 Sabes by the end of it!

Was thinking about this the other day - my closest friend at work (theres 8 in the dept I work in) is fans of multiple teams in the same sport. Likes the Raiders and the Bears - Raiders from growing up in Las Vegas and Bears because family is from there. Has referred to both of them as "us" or "we" especially in talking to another guy who's actually from Chitown, talking about da Bears - was doing this yesterday, that's what made me think of it. Also likes Notre Dame in college fball, but is a season ticket holder to UNLV - also an alum. I just don't understand. I like the Bills and the Sabres. That's it - even after moving away, it's not going to change. Can't be a fan of more than one team in the same sport.
-
And the latest came, at my recollection, in about 3 minutes. Without them even contacting the president. He probably just signs like 100 and sets them aside for Jack, knowing they'll need them eventually. And anyone else notice how all of the female villains on this show seem to be hot??

Not sure if you're aware, but the person most responsible for anything related to "Coaches vs. Cancer" charity work is the same person you are chastising for using 2 swear words. -
She also had that quote to Kim, something like "Yea, I'm really good at getting information" - such a Chloe line right there

Featuring the Batman - I grew up down the street from him, his son always dominated when we played street hockey with the other kids on the block, kind of a jerk but he knew he was good. Jim Sr. is a real nice guy though. And damn is this team good. I'm not too happy that when I finally moved out of WNY the sabes decided to pour it on.

Hotter: Nick Lachey's ex-wife or new gf?
theNose76 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was flipping through the channels last night and saw on E that he was rumored to be with this girl - Kristin from MTV's Laguna Beach. I think she's like 19 or something, can't be that old, I think that show was based on kids in high school. She's pretty hot though either way. -
First game I remember going to, I was in 1st grade. Good times

Highlight from this week's blog recap found here: http://slowlyboilingfrog.blogspot.com/ The First Lady and the Russians are trapped in their car, while a terrorist with a flamethrower advances on the vehichle. So who saves the day? I'll tell you who: Secret Service Agent AARON MOTHERF***ING PIERCE, THAT'S WHO! Shooting terrorists is one thing, but shooting the flamethrower so it'll blow up in the terrorist's face? That, my friends, is a level of awesomeness matched only by Jack Bauer himself. That's the same thing I was thinking when Pierce all of a sudden came back to life and killed like 4 guys at once, including blowing up the flamethrower. Such a bad ass.

I like the totals for some of the "key stats" at the bottom of the entry: There's no time (running total): 6 Episode Death Count: 2 Series Death Count: 12 People Who Would Rather Kill Themselves Than Face Jack Bauer: 4

Great recaps of the show here - saw this on another site. http://slowlyboilingfrog.blogspot.com/ Apparently he talks about Lost as well, haven't gotten that far.

Where do you work? Maybe its just the company that sucks. Doesnt seem like I place I'd want to work to put up with crap like that, union or not.
-
Maybe you should direct your assault at the actual union, instead of a teacher. If you think teachers are "a-holes" and "dickheads" then you must not like alot of people in general.

I get 15 "flex" days that began to accrue when I started - 4.6 or so hours per pay period. They're called flex because it's not a sick day, or vacation day, or anything - all the same basically. Works out to 120 hours in 26 pay periods. 2nd year I will get 20 days, up until 5th year, then you get 25 days. I also get Christmas off. Any other holiday - nope. Not even Thanksgiving. Although I guess I don't really care if I get MLK day off or not - I'd rather take the days off when I want them. I actually missed a day of work in December because I was bumped from the flight I was supposed to be on, but still got paid for the actual day. Can't tell you what happens if I call in sick, because the only time I'm going to be sick is when I'm puking my guts out - not worth it for me to stay home when I have the sniffles when I'm just sitting at my desk most of the day. Working in a hotel has its pros and cons - at least I am in an office in the "back of the house" and don't really work crazy hours.

Going to Vegas for the first time
theNose76 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gold Coast is one of the biggest dives in town - but you are right its cheap. Great location right across the street with the Palms - very interesting sites there. It's not that far to the LVCC from there but it takes a long time to cross the strip. Gold Coast is on Flamingo Road and you may think its easy to walk to the strip from there but trust me its far. Taxi wouldnt be too bad. The monorail goes up the east side of the strip and has a stop at the CC, but the other stops are at the back end of the hotels and you will walk forever to get anywhere. Taxis arent too bad during the day when traffic isnt bad. Most hotels that have poker rooms have daily tourneys - the best rooms in town are Bellagio, Mirage, probably Wynn. Bellagio often has high profile players there. Wranglers are pretty good, but I have not seen any games at all. They play at Orleans Arena which is actually pretty close to Gold Coast - again by taxi. The 51's will be playing by then, but the park is a distance from both the CC and Gold Coast. Go to some shows - I liked the Cirque shows at MGM and NYNY (I work at MGM so I saw it for free but its still a good show). Saw Blue Man when they were at Luxor, it was pretty good. Scintas are from Buffalo and put on a good show across the street from you at the Rio. If you're that kind of guy Celine Dion performs at Ceasars. Lots of good food if you dont mind paying - most of the restaurants at Bellagio are very good but also pricey - actually the cafe there is very good food and not as expensive. MGM has some good ones (not just because I work there) - I think Craftsteak is great, not sure the guy who said it was his worst dining experience - again a bit pricey. I would stay away from the buffets unless you are really hungry otherwise they are not worth it. Also some good restaurants at the Palms. Hard Rock is an experience - not sure you can get to the pool w/o paying for it. As others said - go out, see the sites, walk around on the strip, gamble (not too much), etc. It's a good time when you come here for the first time. Enjoy -
college cheerleader dismissed for her off campus

Was there tonight - it was very interesting, to say the least. The place was a dive when they bought it - still is. They only spent 1 month fixing it when it really needed to be knocked down and completely rebuilt. The entire place was cramped, and it was when I was there later in the night at about 1 am when it wasn't as busy as after work. Highlight tonight was their "celebrity" blackjack tourney. THe most easily recognizable celeb there was Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell. Also Bob Huggins, former Cincy hoops coach. He didn't hear when I yelled and asked if he had a DD for the night. But - these "celebs" and others were all playing with Hooters Calendar girls. All smoking hot. Like the best Hooter girls from across the country. Alas like I said the place is still a dive - the pool is not even complete and looks like a Super 8 Motel pool. It was cool, but I'm not going to go back that often. Lot of other places to see hot ladies in Vegas. -
Been here about 8 months. Apartments are pretty easy to find, unless you come at the time I did (May-June) which is when most people are moving, there are less available then. Cost of living is just a little above WNY, but not bad unless you want to buy a place to live, which can get really expensive, but also not a bad investment if you can afford. Most of the suburb type areas like Summerlin, Green Valley, parts of Henderson are great to live and only a short drive from anywhere on the strip - I live in Green Valley which is south-southwest of the strip and take about 15-20 mins to get to work. I wouldn't suggest living too close to the strip, can get pretty bad in those areas, and I've heard North Las Vegas is not too great either. Also remember about cost of living - there is no state income tax, so you keep more of what you make.

Happens to be the same place I work -- first I highly doubt he is being promoted to Asst Mger after less than 3 months - he would not even be "on his own" working at the desk for very long right now, if at all. Also that $38k is a little inflated, unless he plans on working alot of OT and getting tips, etc. May be sugarcoating some of that. Other than that which bothered me when I read it lol, I think this is a great place to live. It's just more upbeat than WNY. More options of things to do outside of work, great places to eat (ok they are expensive and nothing like the places in WNY, but not much is), and some really nice places to live as long as you can afford. And of course the weather is great. Its almost 8 pm here right now and about 60 degrees outside. I think so far this "winter" its gotten to 32 twice in the early am. That's it. And it's funny to see everyone running around all bundled up with winter type clothes on while I have a sweatshirt on. Definitely good place to live, and being an ex WNYer i would definitely agree. If you're going to be here during football season, go to Johnny Macs on Boulder Hwy in Henderson, great food and great crowds for the Bills games.
