Ever hear him talk or read one of his live chats? He's the furthest thing from a warm and giddy guy. He's as condescending and a-holish as he is in his columns. Even more so since he gets to interact and act that way directly to people.
Wasn't being condescending but you're the one complaining. Very rarely do people use their established returners in the preseason, so why not see what else we have on the few kicks that were actually returnable? The preseason is to find out about the fringe players on your roster and gear up your regulars just enough to be ready without getting them hurt. So why could you possibly have any concern over who was returning kicks?
I think he has time to hone that ability. At this point if Rogers is on the field for defensive snaps it's going to be in 3rd and long situations where the offense has field spread. Barring injuries I can't see him getting much playing time ahead of the Mc's, Williams, and Florence right now.
An open competition to do what? Stand in the endzone and watch kicks sail past them? Or perhaps have all those guys who play very prominent roles on offense and defense risk getting hurt doing something they've done a million times in an area where there is nothing left to learn about them? Who says 5 kick returners is unnecessary? So having depth is a bad thing all of a sudden? The more things that more guys can do the better off your team is. A lot of teams would love to have one guy who is good at returning kicks. We have at least 4. Remind me how that is a bad thing?
I can't even begin to describe how good it feels to be actually discussing gameplans and a REAL upcoming game.
I think the case no matter who is starting at QB for KC is stop the run and take care of the ball on Offense. I'd force either QB to have to beat you but especially in Palko's case.
Did anyone consider the possibility that they already know what Spiller, McKelvin, Smith, and Parrish can do returning kicks and wanted to see what other guys could do in the preseason? Isn't that what all these exhibition games are for? Plus, how much will it really matter if every kickoff goes into the 10th row?
An article in the Buffalo News this morning talked about that possibility as well. I don't think Cassell is that good but I'll be more than happy to have to face Tyler Palko.
Nobody ever stays for preseason games very long. Since I'm stuck paying full price for the games since season ticket holders don't get a break, I figured i mind as well stay since I had to pay so much for an exhibition.
I always park in that lot too. I'm not sure if you get off at Milestrip on the 219 or Milestrip on the 90 but at the 90-219 split, take the 219 and get off at the first Orchard Park exit (Big Tree/20A). Make a left off of the offramp and head straight towards the stadium and that lot will be on your right hand side.
How do we know that they haven't interviewed other people? Nobody knew a thing about this until what a few hours ago? Plus I don't know why people are upset if it is indeed Nix. Look at his credentials, who cares how old he is?
I get nervous just because, well it happens during every game. I'm confident they'll win but there there is always the thought it the back of my head that is worried somethign might go wrong. Which it often does. I just can't conceivabley see a way we don't win this week after the close call last week.
I have a few Sabres, Pominville, Stafford, Teppo. I also have Gerbe and Andrew Orpik, those two are legit. I have Orpik because he's from here and he played in a pickup game I did, and since I ahd him I just added Gerbe for the hell of it.
John McCargo and Kyle Williams have real ones. Williams has pictures of his kids and wife on there and whatnot, and McCargo has a bunch of pictures from colllege and places someone with a fake account wouldn't have access to. As does Alvin Bowen.
The Rams are putrid. They were a joke last year and are even worse this year. What about this team is supposed to get me worried? Their ineffective offense? Or maybe their defense that couldn't stop a pee wee team? Or maybe their dead man walking head coach. We had our trap game last week, this week they go in and put the ax down and don't even make it competetive.
Trent Green is not an upgrade over Bulger. The guy is a good hit away from going into a coma. We're playing an awful team this week, don't overthink it. They don't outclass us at any position on the field.
