    That money that they were paying Merriman didn't prohibit them from making any other moves. They took a chance, it didn't work out. At least they took a swing. I can't fault them for that. Especially with the position they were in when they picked him up.

    What I found entertaining watching that Chargers game was their announcers talking about how Roscoe getting out of cold old Buffalo and into perfect weather San Diego was going to do wonders for his game and health. Nevermind that Roscoe was usually hurt well before the cold weather rolled around.

    As as season ticket holder I'd gladly swap a preseason game for a regular season game. I'm stuck paying full price anyways; mind as well get to see a good game for the money.

    Add me to the group who came away pretty impressed with Howell. Coming from Stanford, he's obviously a smart guy and seems to have good instincts and as solid an understanding of the defense as an UDFA who didn't even have a rookie camp can have.

    I can't believe I wasted my time reading this thread. Everyone sucks and we're doomed. Got it, I'll just send my season tickets through the shredder now since apparently two preseason games are enough evidence that we are the worst team in the league.

    So we're supposed to be terrified of him because he's fast? If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he predicted to be a 6th round pick if he had decided to stick with football? So now he's a track star, and even though he wasn't that highly touted a football player to begin with, he's going to be a stud now?

    I expect Arthur Moats to never stop smiling, a bunch of phantom penalties, numerous misidentified numbers by the officials, and Steve Tasker to emphasize the importance of special teams.

    I've heard of him. I've also heard he's terrible. And by heard, I mean have seen him be terrible almost every time I've seen him play.

    So did I. I got all excited when I saw the title, but eball got to it first. He still owns his modest little house in OP; so it seems that he is still hanging around, coming up with new new schemes and plays on his electric vibrating football game.
