Someone needs to explain this ridiculous thinking that the Bills weren't in a position to pass up a QB in the 3rd round and are therefore inept because they didn't take one. That makes no sense to me at all. Of course they were in a position to pass up a QB, its the third round. On top of that they targeted the guy they wanted at WR and got him.

Parrish issue was he was an injury risk.....he could be brought back for league min and function as a slot receiver.
Plaxico can play as a role receiver...redzone/short yardage plays. The other issue we had was not having a big receiver.

Regardles of Wilson (or Nick Foles) we way overeached as he was considered a 5th rounder and could have gotten him much latter.
The thing is, there's no way for anyone to actually know that. Maybe if Mel Kiper or Mike Mayock were doing the drafting for all 32 teams, but not one of us know what any team's draft board looked like.

Maybe it's just me bit Landry looks like a total d bag out there. Just they way he plays and then gets up and stalks around like the hulk. Something about him just bugs me.

I'll take the 2nd year QB over the 7th yr journeyman QB.
We aren't looking for a backup we are training our future starter, and I'm not sure what a 7th year journeyman QB could offer, regardless of how bad the 2nd year player may be.
He offers the quiet and serenity that comes with not having that crappy 2nd year QB and his circus in town.

If this is for anything more than a 7th rounder I will be disgusted (Its rumored to be a 5th or 6th). T.Jackson is a pretty decent backup but marginally better than what V.Young is. I would have preferred to have kept Young. But if T.Jackson starts more than a game or two this team is screwed. T.Jackson can win you a game or two but over the stretch of a full season the guy's limitations are just blatant.
I would just keep VY and put the kibosh on this deal to get Jackson, no need to give up a pick for a marginal upgrade at backup QB.
Well he wouldn't be brought in to play over the course of an entire season. That's why he'd be the backup. So if he's forced to play because Fitz is hurt and can, as you said "win a game or two", then it's fine. I'm not a big fan of Jackson, I think he's pretty terrible. But it'll be tough for him to look any worse than Young and Thigpen have.

Anyway, Wilson is essentially the same height that Vick and Brees are (generously) listed at. GMs who are more worried about how tall he is instead of how he performed over 5 years of college ball aren't very clever perhaps. It should have been clear his "short stature" did nothing to hinder him. Yet they wouldn't hesitate invest a 3rd round pick in a raw WR like TJ "People say I can't catch" Graham.
Or maybe I didn't spend three days thinking of it and it just popped into my head this morning. The way people are going crazy for Wilson is starting to border on insane. I like Russell Wilson, I wish him nothing but the best. Outside of UB, Wisconsin is favorite college team, so I watched him play a lot last year. I just think it's a little nuts to be anointing him at this point and calling the Bills inept for not picking him. It's apparently impossible to talk about what players on other teams are doing without immediately trying to make it an indictment of the Bills.

My buddy and i were just saying the other day...how is it that Buffalo can't find anyone better for local sports talk during the afternoon drive. Schopp just sounds dopey and the "Bulldog" can't speak a sentence without saying the word LIKE every other word! It's incredibly bothersome..dude you're a professional on the radio. Totally agree. I love it when Peters is on. Wish he was on everyday and not just Tuesdays and Thursday's. He's funny and brings a unique perspective and isn't afraid to be self depreciating.

This game is NOWHERE close to being a sell out.... go on ticketmaster and see the hundreds of tickets still available.... I think TM even withheld some.
Reason: This game has sold over 85% of general seats, but is not a sell out. Think of how bad it would look, in the pre season, if a game that could of been televised under the new blackout policy, that the Bills rejected, was actually blacked out??? Would be a PR nightmare for RB!
The bills will be buying up all those tickets to save face.

How could a preseason game not selling out possibly be a PR nightmare? Preseason games rarely sell out. You and Joe W can have your "Russ Brandon is Satan" club, but try making a little sense once in a while.
