I'd love to argue, but....... I can't. FWIW, I don't watch for educational purposes but merely for entertainment. Anyway, this was my e-mail to Mr. Ryan...... As I'm sure you're already finding out, there are many loyal fans of not just the Buffalo Bills, but also the Buffalo Sabres. While we may not share in the number of Championships won with the "greater New England area", we certainly love our sports teams, and unlike many other fans, stick by them through thick and thin. The Buffalo area has struggled mightely over the last 10-20 years not just economically, but in retaining population, crime, housing, etc. Nevertheless, Western New Yorkers continue to be and have always been hard working decent human beings who try endlessy to be positive contributors to society. Western New Yorkers have endured many dissapointments over the years, that's obvious. We find ourselves defending each other on a regular basis. I realize you're just a "fill-in" on PTI, but you should take caution when insulting an entire area of our great country. Many Western New Yorkers enjoy PTI, and for an entire show to lose viewers simply because you were careless in your choice of words would be unfortunate. Giving your opinion of a team's chances, skill, financial situation, etc., is one thing. Questioning who cares about a region (whether that was your intent or not) is disappointing on so many levels due to your stature not just in sports but as a guest on several different shows as well as your journalist career. To answer your question, there are hundreds of thousands of Americans who not only "care about Buffalo", but who also wish people like you would think before you speak, especially when being viewed by the nation. I look forward to your apology for either insulting a region, or for "mixing up your words", on national televsion no less........ I actually enjoy their show, and while they aren't the most "educated" analysts in sports, their back and forth is very amusing. Bob Ryan is a "fill-in" who ususally says moronic things on both PTI and Around the Horn. He's a tool looking for this very reaction because his life sucks so bad. Seriously, look at the guy. You're not that far off..... the person who keeps posting about how great everyone else is and how bad we suck is eluding to this. References like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and the Giants d is stupid because, let's face it, they're more talented. It's not better coaching. Sure our coaches have made some mistakes, but they aren't costing us games. Would I like to see us blitz more, sure!! But the minute we start blitzing more, they'll dump it off and we'll get torched....it's already beginning to happen. And to the guy who said we blitzed MORE against Seattle, wrong again. Their O-line SUCKS so it just looked like we were blitzing more. We've stayed pretty consistent on a weekly basis in regards to number of blitzes per game. Remember, too, that whenever someone gets hurt, we have to rotate guys. Whitner gets rotated all the time, and there was a story about it. Well, you don't hear the stories of other guys getting rotated out or having to audible at the line out of a blitz package, etc..... All these things contribut to the recent decline in productivity. Bottom line is our Head Coach has us at 5-3, tied for 1st in our division half way through the season. If this was posted in August, we'd all be begging for this to be true. Relax.......

I think 2-3 years is an average. That means some will produce sooner, some later. A lot of it is based on what team takes them. Royal and Jackson had early opportunities to start. That certainly helps a WR "come into their own". Bottom line, guys come along at different speeds. There are hundreds of examples of guys who stunk it up their first couple of years in the league, only to become great WR's. I'm not projecting this for Hardy, but I agree that we should wait another year or two before predicting this guy's future in the league. I think that's fair........

You obviously have an addiction to crack..... why don't you take a look at every starting RB in the NFL and compare their YPA to their immediate back ups. Guys who spell guys are fresh, and typically, as in Freddy's case, get plays called for outside the tackles. Here's my sole example; Jurious Norwood. Please explain to me why he is not the starter in Atlanta?? Same reason Jackson isn't the starter here. They can't carry the load. They're built to spell guys. Seriously, I can't believe I'm even having this conversation........ Box score stats are great, but watching the game itself may help to clear up your confusion.
