Per PFT: Bills Shopping Parrish
billsrcursed replied to TheBuffaloBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, I'm seriously not trying to give you a hard time. I think we're just not seeing eye to eye on this. I agree with most of what you're saying. The only thing I question is if the Bills hang on to the "4th round pick" or if they use it to package up and get value in return at a position we're deficient in. Let's say we trade Roscoe and a 3rd for Scheffler, are you saying our team would then be worse than if they didn't make this trade? -

I'm not denying his talent, and I'm not saying I wish others would be shopped instead of him. What I'm saying is that he draws more in a trade situation than those other guys you named. If the Bills feel they need to do this in order to get better at another position, why wouldn't we do it?? Look, bottom line is we've never "suffered" at the return position in the past, it can be filled. Is it a risk? Sure, but so is the drive to the stadium. The FO can't let that dictate whether or not they make a move in order to improve at another position. And again, I'm saying all of this with the assumption they won't just take a pick and use it, but rather flip it or package him in a trade. -

Cool, thanks for the numbers. I didn't mean it was a no brainer because of the money, moreso because of the fact we have other needs that, if left unfilled, would effect the team more than if we trade Parrish. He seems to be the guy who is most expendible who also would draw "attention" from other teams. Lets face it, we aren't going to get the same return for guys like Kelsay, or even Hardy, at this point. I like the guy as much as everyone else does, but looking at it from a business stand point, it just seems to be the logical thing to do, as unfortunate as it may be for Roscoe or the fans. -

Josh Reed 2008 stats - 56 receptions 597 yards - 1 TD He was basically a first down per reception WR for us last year who actually "catches" the ball. He may not be a game breaker, but for him to be able to finally play his natural position (slot) next year, he is more valuable on a play by play basis than Roscoe would be. Calling Johnson and Hardy scrubs is a pretty quick assumption since both were rookies last year... You're thinking individually rather than what they contribute to the "team". I believe he'd be making $2m this year, not $1m, as stated above, but I could be wrong. Roscoe is great at returning kicks, whoopie, but the Bills have bigger needs and if we can flip a pick we get for him to fill one of those needs, it's a no brainer.... -
Sorry, had to post this, too funny to pass up.

Are you seriously blaming the economic status of the entire city on the fact that a few people didn't realize a vagina was referred to as a "mound"????? On a side note, I tend to lean toward the idea that anyone who is NOT 12 years old who refers to a vagina as a "mound" isn't doing too good in the "score" dept. - just sayin -
Is your friend Marshawn Lynch, by chance?

Oh..... thought we were getting the "sneak peek" at a Buffalo Basher...... my bad -

Why?? That was actually humorous. It was geared more towards T.O. than it was Buffalo, so I don't see the problem... -
but this happens, frequently. That's why the Dolphins are a better team than the Bills this year.....

These players don't care if they win or lose

Jesus, did something happen to you in Los Gatos that you'd like to share with the rest of us?? And where do you get your stats/percentages from?? Then you insult his lack of personality because, why, he doesn't frown during an interview?? Seriously, have you met Trent? Where are you coming up with this stuff?? You're literally telling us what he's gonna be thinking about in May. Thanks for the inside info., Ms. Cleo...... -
So wait, RW ONLY cares about money, yet you quote the idea that he is angry with the team's performance and now is a great time to protest?? Come on, dude, who are trying to kid here?? ALL OWNERS CARE ABOUT MONEY..... That's how they're able to purchase professional sports teams, money. And don't preach to me about how you know for a fact that Ralph Wilson doesn't care about winning and losing. If that's your out, good for you, but let's not preach the unkown. He owns the team, he can do whatever he wants, he hires guys to make the team function. If they don't do their job, he takes care of them. Let's point the blame where it belongs. Picking on a senior citizen is not cool, man. By the way, protest, and this team is outta here..... and you can bet there will be some pissed off people looking for these said protestors.....

I believe Dick Jauron needs to stay
billsrcursed replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. If the Atlanta Falcons can win w/young guys, so should we. Youth has not cost us wins this year. Just look at the games we've lost. Time after time it boils down to play calling. I know there have been mistakes made on the field, and that you can attribute to youth, in some cases, but the bottom line is our coaching staff is making serious mistakes, mismanaging the time clock, time outs, and not making ANY adjustments during the game. To me, it's pretty black and white. This team, as is, COULD SUCCEED if we prepared better, made adjustments during the game, and managed our time better. Lindell making some FG's and Preston not tackling our own players wouldn't hurt either -
But don't you think dropping 8 and bringing 3 has a lot to do with both sacks and rushing yards? Those stats kind of prove my point. We're not adjusting to what defenses are doing. I guess some will argue that we're throwing too much, which isn't really the case but moreso WHEN we're throwing, but until we can make sensible adjustments during the actual game, we're not going to improve. And please don't tell me you've been happy with Preston's play this season. I agree that Peters has improved, but even Dockery isn't playing to his potential this year. Butler has been "o.k." as has Walker, but they're just not good enough. There's a huge difference when teams bring 5-6 then what we've been seeing lately, and even 3 guys can sometimes be too much for our line. They're soft, plain and simple.

When Fans rebell against our own players
billsrcursed replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why at Peters?? Didn't Duke Preston have more tackles than any other player on the 49ers D?? Someone should have hit him with a pink slip taped to a cinder block...... that guy SUCKS!!!!!!!!! -
I can't believe nobody is putting this on our O-Line!!!!!!! We saw the same thing again, rush 3, drop 8 (for the most part). I feel like I'm in the twilight zone...... QB is NOT the issue. The comparisons to Flacco and Ryan are boarderline retarded, look at their o-lines for the Falcons and Ravens. Those guys have real players in front of them who are blocking very well. They also have offensive creativity that allows their QB's more options. We lack an offensive line, as well as offensive creativity/balls. There's your problem right there.......

how can Evans have no catches?
billsrcursed replied to Slapper12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny how every fan in the WORLD saw Edwards lose his confidence, but our coaching staff didn't. I mean, if they had, they would have adjusted the WR's routes a little, right?? Right?? How about wrong....... -
Then how do we explain his game against S.D.?? I refuse to believe it was the hit in AZ........ If you wanna understand how a guy forgets to play football, hang out with our coaching staff for a week. I was just on this board last week stating how the players needed to take ownership of their bad play, and that the coaches weren't the ones on the field turning the ball over, etc. I knew then that I was making a mistake, and Monday night was the final straw for me. I'm not screaming "fire sale" here but our approach needs to change. Our gameplan needs to improve, it needs to fit our skilled players, our players shouldn't be conforming to some random gameplan, and I think that's what's happening here. Everyone keeps yelling that Evans was wide open down field all night long. Does anyone wonder why Evans was streaking down field all night long? Why are we sending him deep on every play when Edwards is reluctant to throw the deep ball? What, no cross patterns?? Wouldn't that have been a pretty good idea since they were in a drop back cover 2?? There should have been 3 pockets Evans could have been found in underneath the safeties had he gone across the field. Look, I'm no OC, but I know football, and I know when a coaching staff is not forming a gameplan correctly, and that goes in line with refusing to adjust to a team's defensive gameplan. Sorry, but the big picture here is our gameplan, not the players. They're being asked to do things we shouldn't be doing........ that and our brainfarts regarding time outs, not throwing the ball to gain better field position for a game winning field goal, etc. The list just goes on and on........

I agree with everything you said, except for the wind part. It's true the wind was SUPPPOSED to have been swirling around, but when they showed the replay of the ball going just right of the post (thanks ESPN for showing that multiple times in uber slow motion while repeating "wide right", tools) I noticed the flag on the right post. It was limp. no movement at all. I think Lindell kicked the ball expecting the wind to pull it back in, and the wind just died. I don't want to go all "bigger things at play here" on everyone, but I chose this screen name quite some time ago and use it everywhere I go for a reason.........
