  1. To me, this makes the benching of Edwards seem "oddly convenient". I have a feeling Dick knew he had to win the Titans game to keep his job. I don't believe he went to Detroit for his meeting with Ralph not expecting to get fired. This was something discussed during the bye, IMHO.
  2. How does playing one game a year in Toronto have any factor in a man making a career choice to run an NFL organization?? Again, I just think you're looking at it as a fan. Even if we agreed (which we don't) that Buffalo was the last team on a coaches list of "desirable" places to be employed, how many vacancies do you foresee this off-season?? And of those vacancies, how many are willing to hand over total control?? I may be mistaken, but I would like to think that more tenured coaches we're speaking of would be thrilled at the opportunity to be able to run the show. We also have some great young talent to work with. And like I already posted, the succession plan is meaningless if a coache's intentention is to turn things around and succeed.
  3. Ah, got it. Unwanted added pressure. I would like to think one of 3 things would happen; 1. Ralph passes sooner than later (not hoping for this) and the new owner gives the coach reasonable time to turn things around. 2. Ralph passes later than sooner and the new coach already has things turned around, so he stays 3. Ralph passes later than sooner and the new coach hasn't done anything to improve our team, he gets the can Whichever one happens, seems business as usual to me, I wouldn't avoid a job opportunity because of any of these scenarios being a possibility.
  4. We'll just agree to disagree then. I can list at least 5-6 other Teams that would be less desirable than the Bills. You're looking at it from a fan's perspective, which is fine. But a man looking for a job in the NFL as a Head Coach (if given the opportunity to run the show) would jump at the opportunity to land in an organization with as much history and fan base as the Bills.
  5. Who are you referring to??? I see our guys get pushed around in 80 degree weather week in and week out. Snow has nothing to do with it....
  6. I may be reading your post wrong, but are you saying that if/when Ralph passes away, a guy like Mike Shanahan would be in Jeopardy of losing his job??? I don't get it...
  7. DIAF you A-hole....... (I keed I keed!!)
  8. I know a couple of members here who are going to get butt-hurt by what I'm about to type, but; Jacksonville is a poop hole with nothing to offer. Sell the tickets and hang out at the beach, you'll thank me later....
  9. I would venture to GUESS that most here who have no interest in the Sabres did not grow up in Buffalo. I know there are many here who's love for the Bills got handed down by relatives who lived there. It may not be a National fenom like the NFL, but to Buffalonians, the Sabres are relevant. Growing up in Tonawanda, you found just as many kids, if not more, playing street/pond Hockey as you'd find kids playing Football. It's obviously an individual choice on likes in terms of sports, but to say the Sabres aren't as important in Buffalo as the Bills is a huge fail. Just look at the crowds who showed up outside the Arena during the Playoff runs the first 2 years out of the lockout. The National media that DOES care about Hockey couldn't stop gushing over the support our team had. It was eerily similar to the support shown during the 4 Super Bowls, if you were living in the area at the time.
  10. This really needed its own thread??? You could have posted this in any other thread on the board and it would have fit... just sayin.
  11. Then this thread has no purpose. If what you say is true, why fire Dick now?? BTW, I agree with you, but not to the extent that DJ gets fired. No point, let him finish the year, then firesale this mofo....
  12. If you aren't a fan, then why are you here??? Please STFU and GTFO.....
  13. This might be the best post I've ever seen on this site during my short stay. This is also the scariest post I've ever seen on this site during my short stay.
  14. Meh... he's a talented kid with nobody to learn from. He's in an offensive hole in Chicago. At least 3 of those picks last night were not his fault, not to mention the dropped balls all over the field. With the right weapons and coordinator, he'd dominate, I have no doubt about that at all. I'll tell you why he's an upgrade over anything we've had in years; no matter how many picks he may throw, he has no problem going back out there and putting the ball in the air. He leaves it on the field each game. I'd kill for a guy like that. That said, he needs help in the worst way..... sometimes the grass isn't always greener....
  15. ^^ Lulz!!!!!!!!!! * sees your point *
  16. Oh, ok. Thought you meant the FO.... my bad. Still, I got to laugh at work, so thanks!
  17. ^ Thanks for making me laugh, I was having a rough night at work!!!!
  18. ^^^ If you two are so bent on arguing about how great or how sucky Vick is, why don't you take it to the Vick thread..... you know, where it belongs.....
  19. This thread is all over the place, but I'll try anyway; I think the fact the players are beginning to "speak out" is nothing more than guys being asked uncomfortable questions. Let's face it, this group isn't really used to media attention (aside from the TO thing) so I'm fairly confident some of these guys are not going to "behave accordingly", as in Whitner. It's great that your team's players say what you've been thinking all along, but it does NOTHING for the locker room. It's counter productive, although I did like how Freddy responded. You want to be positive about the guy they're asking about, while being sensitive to your teammates, and I thought Freddy did a good job of covering both. Donte..... not so much.
  20. I LOL'ed!!!!!!!!!!
  21. He was replying to a post Phil made saying the general public does not put animal cruelty above crimes against humans, it's relevant, but nice job reading the other posts that were involved.... I love the comparison we're now making of Vick to a child molestor as well. That, too, is another fine example of comparing animal cruelty to crimes against, now, our children. One more and then I'm done; Assuming Vick would have moved to killing homeless people is the best stretch I've read yet. Vick is a lot of things, and what he did was planned out, well run, and quite frankly was very successful up until he was caught. What he did was extremely wrong, I would even say pretty sick. I wouldn't want to hang out with a guy like that, and he deserved his punishment, no doubt. But what some are doing here is just wrong. It's one thing if you don't want the guy to play on a Football team you cheer for. Great, say it and be out. Stop trying to convince those who don't agree with you that Vick is a serial child molestor who might kill bums, steal my pet goldfish, and stomp on my flower bed on his way out.... BTW, I don't think he's our answer at QB.....
  22. Biggest scumbag in the world???? I don't know, I could name a few that might come before him..... There are some people in this thread that ride some mighty high horses.....
  23. How do you NOT get banned for this??? I mean, really??? Really???
  24. That's just it, I never said he hasn't learned his lesson because I don't know. Unless you're his neighbor or speak to him regularly, there's really no way to know if he has in fact learned his lesson. Seems to me you're giving him way too much credit in the "smarts" dept. Frankly, I think he's capable of screwing us even more, I've seen nor heard nothing from him that would suggest he's an even-tempered, intelligent man. Fan boys would suggest otherwise, as is the case with you... For me, I think he's easily replaceable, and the only thing Roscoe has proven to us is that his hands don't work very well at all.
  25. Oh ya??? He's better than Derek Anderson....oh, wait.....
