Roethlisberger violated the NFL's personal-conduct policy
billsrcursed replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you're missing the point. He's not being considered for suspension because of what the DA says. He volunteered himself to be held accountable to a written NFL standard. Whether it's stupid or not, he put himself in a situation that violates what he swore to abide by. Like you said earlier, if he doesn't like it, he can find employment elsewhere... -
Getting a Fry Daddy for Draft Thursday

You like this stuff?? I'd prefer regular Frank's, or just add Butter to regular Frank's if it's too strong for you. Didn't like the "Buffalo Wing" Franks sauce myself. Either way, good luck!! -

What are the chances the Bills trade down in the 1st round?
billsrcursed replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's my thing; the only player I would think S.F. would trade up for would be Spiller. Can't see them also taking Lynch in that case. I really don't even see the connection between S.F. and a RB. Frank Gore is top 5 or 6 in the league. Perhaps a WR (Bryant) but I'm not sure that the 9 spot would be S.F.'s best move for him. I could see Seattle's 2nd or even Detroit's 3rd for Lynch, both of which would be steals for us. -
Bills should go after Rothlisberger
billsrcursed replied to stroud99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm impressed.... do you desparately need $20 bills??? Do you like running Canadian chicks over??? If you answered no to both, I think I know of a job opening while you're visiting TBD.... -
What does that have to do with giving up a potential 5th or 6th for a known starting QB to compete in camp?? Worst case scenario, he pushes Trent/Fitz/Broehm into the sarting role... I don't get the problem here. And no, the bills DO NOT have to sign him to a deal before hand.... (not saying that towards you, Rico, just saw it elsewhere in the thread).

Well played!!! I'm not sure that GRUDEN took advantage of this situation, but ESPN perhaps did. Don't think it was his call to put this together, you may be giving him too much credit. BTW, he didn't say one single thing to any of those QB's that I disagreed with, how about you?

That would actually be the Magic if I'm not mistaken... -
Which would you rather have ?...Marshall at $10 mil
billsrcursed replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm actually pretty shocked by all of this. I'm an OSU fan and my best friend is a Michigan fan, so I'm fairly familiar with Henne. Oh, you can also add my wife as a Dolphins fan. I had Orton and Garrard on my Fantasy bench last year. I played Orton a few times, but ONLY because Marshall was on the field. We're going to have to agree to disagree on Henne. I like all 3 QB's, I really do. But give all three a Brandon Marshall, and I feel Henne has the edge. Of course, it could also be due to a great running sheme, OL, and pretty damn good coaching as well. -
The ONLY reason that I can think of as to why this post was not torn to shreds is because most have you on ignore. Which I guess makes me the dummy for allowing myself to see the filthy garbage you continue to spew....

In real life, Gruden would head-butt you to death, just sayin...

Please don't tell me you're inferring Garrard or Josh Freeman is better than Henne???? Kyle Orton isn't all world either, but Marshall made him look pretty damn good last year. Some around here have even petitioned for him.... Henne was without a weapon at WR last year. Marshall changes that. I wouldn't poop on Henne just yet... God I hate the F'n Dolphins... -
Is that what this is, 1 poster trying to change another poster's personal opinion of Brandon Marshall?? I think not. It's pretty simple; Rayzor made reference to wanting a WR with Marshall's ON FIELD abilities on the Bills, and 1billsfan accused him of worshiping a woman beater.

So much for a second for Lynch

Cool to see another Magic fan on the boards!! And yes, Rasheed would have set our club back. I am very happy with Vince, and even moreso with Ryan Anderson. What a steal that trade ended up being. I am in my glory with the Magic and Sabres both in the playoffs this year! Should be fun.

I think Skooby used to get enamored with player activity outside of their profession. Hmmm.....

Wow, you kind of remind of, well..... Jerry Jones.

I'm just curious as to why you are so interested in player's personal lives?? Are you Oprah or something??

There's a reason he's being followed around by a camera more than others, or so I assume... -

Looked pretty good from what we saw in the video. Go figure, a kid who actually WANTS to improve his game. I like his dedication to success. It's not that hard to hope he's successful, that's for sure. -
Who got in trouble for simply hanging out at a strip club? Trust me, regardless of the fact we can watch these guys on TV, they are still employees of a company. A company can certainly "suspend" an employee based on circumstances that have nothing to do with the legal system. Not sure why you think Ben and company are any different? And yes, a company can in fact enforce a family friendly image. Most Companies have a mission statement, and it typically includes community relations. Ask yourself this; how do you think your employer would react to 2 separate accusations of sexual misconduct within a small time-frame?
-
It's a system of privilege. These guys are owed nothing. They're paid millions of dollars to play a sport and represent the League as deemed fit by the Commisioner. If he feels a player is not living up to his expectations, he should be able to respond accordingly. As long as there is SOME consistency with how he does this, I don't see the problem. The real question here should be, what is Ben doing to positively represent the League shield? Chillin in a bar bathroom with a drunk college girl is not what the League has in mind, I'm sure. If the players don't like it, they have 2 choices; don't play in a league where the expectations are too high in regards to public attention, or, accept the guidelines and keep yourself away from situations where someone can accuse you of illegal activity. Seems pretty easy to me.

Someone in another thread made a reference to Ronnie Brown's jersey being on sale for $30. I went and checked and sure enough his and Ginn's jersey's have been slashed in price. Hmmmmm.......
