  1. LOL. Couldn't agree more.

A quote I read a day or two ago about Ayers sums it up best. Sometimes, the best predictor of the future is to look to the past. How many DEs can anyone name that had similar sack totals to Ayers in college, yet posted 8-10 yearly in the pros. Few. Very, very few. This guy has never proven that he can get to the QB and even as an overall player, the most optimistic assessment says that he didn't start playing up to his potential until his senior year. It doesn't add up to more than a 2nd or maybe even a 3rd round pick, IMO. Its adds up to even less if I'm looking for a rush end, which the Bills are in the market for.

If I want a run defending DE with questionable pass rush ability, I'll draft Tyson Jackson in R1, or better yet, wait a few rounds and draft someone like Michael Bennett.

I actually started a thread 3 or 4 days ago that showed NFL all-pro's stats in college compared to these guys in this draft. I think I'm gonna dig it up now.

  2. Why are so many peoples' panties in a wad over this? First of all, don't you think it makes sense for the Bills to do their due diligence just to inquire about what it would take? Shouldn't they know what all of their options are, regardless of whether they would actually go through with it? Secondly, everyone talking about having to use our second first rounder is flat out wrong. At the most, they would have to give our second (which I am not advocating BTW).

Has it occurred to anyone that the Bills might be looking to put a package together that includes one, some or all of the players they have dangled over the past week or two to make this move? What if we only had to give up a third and Kelsey, or a fourth, a fifth and Roscoe, or something similar to get the deal done?

And BTW, just a simple inquiry is probably all it takes to start one of these Internet tizzies in the first place.

I never once said I had a problem with trading up. If we can grab a guy like Curry or Raji.

But this is being considered one of the most overrated OT groups in awhile. And we're going to take the biggest question mark out of all of them.

Would you really want Smith over Raji or Curry? I think one of them will be there. If we pass on them to take Smith I think this will be another draft we look back at and say look at who we passed on to get this guy.

  3. Nothing the Bills do would surprise me at this point...personally, if they do any trading up, I would love to see them get a defensive player like Aaron Curry, BJ Raji or Tyson Jackson... so I know that won't happen...

If we trade up and it's not for one of those three I will find a new hobby on Sundays.

  4. I don't know if they're surprises, but here are a few predictions:

    1) Unless the Bills want to draft Eben Britton at 11, they won't use that pick on an OT. Four OTs will go in the top 10.

    2) Tyson Jackson will go no later than #9 to Green Bay

    3) The Bills will select an interior OL higher than an OT.

    4) The Bills will not select a TE before R3, at least (I *always miss* on the TE prediction; I hope that's true again this year).

    5) This isn't so much a prediction, as it requires a few things to go wrong for the Bills, but if the chips fall right (wrong?) the Bills will strongly consider taking a WR at 28. Don't be stunned to hear a name such as Brian Robiskie called at this pick if they aren't happy with their choices along the lines or at LB.

I love Robiskie in this draft. I would love him on this team if it wasn't so crowded at WR.

That being said. One of the SC LB's is available in the mid-late second round is my prediction.

  5. Pettigrew is a far better blocker than Scheffler. Plus, Scheffler wants a big new contract. I like Pettigrew at 11 because I think the dropoff to the rest of the TE's is greater than the dropoff from the OT and DE's we get at 11 to the ones we can get later on. None of the Tackles or DE's are worthy of the 11th pick and I doubt any of them would start immediately. Pettigrew would be a difference maker in the run game and pass game from Day 1.

Excellent points. Pettigrew is a second tackle with hands. He is a special player.

This guy would have a huge impact in Buffalo immediately.

I honestly feel that Curry, Raji, and Pettigrew are the only 3 prospects that are near sure things in this NFL.

  6. Does he contain the wide run plays? Other teams love to run on BUF.

You should check highlights on youtube. He plays smart. On counters he gets in and kills running backs. And on a couple reverses he stays home and makes plays 10 yards in the backfield.

The one-trick-pony thing is just not true. Because he's a Florida State DE he has no moves. His play speaks for itself. This is IMO the best DE in the draft.

  7. We have the top punt returner from college football, we have one of the top kick returners in the league and he can be switched. We have a backup running back who did great when returning. Is Roscoe the product of a good system?

how many times does our top returner have to fair catch, or otherwise have an unreturnable punt. I would do these trades.

Great point. We have 4 good return men right now. Parrish, McKelvin, Freddy, and McGee.

When was the last time we had a bad return man? That's rhetorical. My point is it has been a while and it won't change much with Roscoe gone.

  8. You don't have a single OT on your draft board. I believe that with the loss of Peters the second pick will be an OT. I also believe that because the LT will need help on blitz pickups a TE is high on the list of needs. Pettigrew can block extremely well and is a good pass catcher. JMO

I really don't see us taking an OT with either of our #1's. And I can't see us taking one in the 2nd or 3rd because no one in the second is ready to start and we don't need another project considering many believe Bell could be our LT of the future.

I do think Cushing will fall. I'm not sure it will be as far as I projected. But many have said he is very overrated in this draft.

  9. It just seems like every draft year the board gets flooded with people posting mocks. It's fun to do but IMO, the board shouldn't get over run with new posts about mocks. My suggestion is to post your mocks here for criticism.

If the mods don't like this idea then they can delete this thread. Just sayin.

Here's my first. Subject to change after anymore roster moves prior to the draft.

    Round 1, Pick 11 (11) Brandon Pettigrew (TE) (6'6" 257),

    Round 1 Pick 28 (28) Eben Britton, (OT) ( 6'6" 310),

    Round 2, Pick 10 (42), Cody Brown (OLB) (6'2" 242),

    Round 3, Pick 11 (75) Connor Barwin (DE) 6'3" 253),

    Round 4, Pick 10 (110) Antoine Caldwell (C/G) (6'3" 309),

    Round 4 pick (121) Kyle Moore (DE) (6'4" 265),

    Round 5 Pick 11 (147) Domonique Johnson (CB) (6'1" 197),

    Round 6, Pick 10 (183) Jose Martinez (K),

    Round 7, Pick 11 (220) Clinton McDonald (DT) 6'2" 289)

No chance at Barwin in the 3rd

Assuming we don't move in the draft:

    1a. B.J. Raji DT

    1b. Larry English DE

    2. Brian Cushing OLB

    3. Chase Coffman TE

    4a. Antoine Caldwell C/G

    4b. Cecil Newton C

    5. Zack Follet LB

    6. Orion Martin DE

    7. Tony Fiametta FB

  10. Langston walker is Peters replacement. The line performed very well through the preseason and game 1 with Walker inserted at LT and Chambers at RT. Walker will be as good as peters was IMO.

Bold comment but I like it. At very least Walker will be as good as 2008 Peters
