I'm guessing most of you who are down on him haven't seen him play much..
Yes that must be it. Because if you've seen him play you love him. I've seen him play plenty of times. And I'm not too happy about this.
-
Noooooo!! The only guy I thought worthy of 11.
-
so are the jets done today? or did they have 2 2nds?
done!
-
We are gonna have a good amount of choices by 11.
-
Someone PLEASE take Maybin before #11.
I'm praying that happens. But it won't. And we'll end up drafting a situational pass rusher with our 11th pick.
-
Why?
Probably to get an LT so Stafford doesn't have a David Carr type rookie year.
-
Per PFT: The Lions have contacted the Cheifs about the 3rd overall pick. Maybe the Bills could work something out.
Edit: Initial report was incorrect. It appears that the Cheifs made the offer and the Lions turned it down.
-
Thought I was the only one. This next hour and 45 will be painful.

"Wouldn't it be cool if next year we had the number 1 pick!!"
-
"Wouldnt it be cool if the draft was held in Toronto?"
Awesome!
(After the 11th pick) Can we leave now? This is soooo boring.

Of course that is the only way it is going to happen. And all I am saying is that I have read enough under the radar ink linking the Jests and the Bucs to Freeman that is very possible. My take is that when teams are making a lot of noise about a move right before the draft, they are trying to draw attention away from what they are really planning.
Yes teams normally don't make noise about the players they are going to draft. But that could mean teams that haven't mentioned Freeman could be looking for a trade partner.
What about a trade up with the Vikings at 22? They are in need of a QB and he probably won't be there at 22. And keep in mind they haven't mentioned trading up very much.
It would also put us in great position to draft Pettigrew.
-
Likewise, and he will ultimately fall somewhere between those 2 picks I'm sure.
Alot of mocks have him at 27 to Indianapolis. I'm not surprised one bit.
-
I've been thinking that Peria Jerry really seems to fit the bills scheme lately too.
I like him at 28 but not 11.
-
Thank god! I was getting nervous. I thought there wasn't going to be a new Pettigrew post for almost 15 minutes!
-
There is zero proof of that, and no indication whatsoever he wouldn't have signed here for that, or that the Bills were close to offering that.
Well Kelly I guess everybody on the board knows more than we do.
How so many people on this board state all of their opinions as facts amazes me.

Dude, you are an idiot...I never said Buffalo was going after Cassel, I reported direct from the source info that said we had interest in him...and that was confirmed a few days later in the media...
And if you dont think Peters wanted out of Buffalo, thats fine...but as far as I am concerned, his actions clearly indicated that he did not want to be here after he demanded an unreasonable contract that was higher than the one the Bills balked at the year before he had a terrible year...
And I am sure you and a few posters are the only ones who give a dam about "how they look" after trading a LT and then drafting an LT...The FO could care less what you think...they will go after the player that best serves this team, not the player that makes the best PR move, and you are a complete fool if you think otherwise...
The ignorance of your post is you act as if we traded away a guy who was happy and ready to play just to replace him in the draft...The FO had no choice in the matter, Peters wasnt going to play, and the FO clearly felt he is NOT worth the money he wanted, and I for one agree...
You gotta relax!
Well I'm not going to stoop to your level and call you names over opinions on a message board (which is beyond funny IMO), I will disagree with you.
This team doesn't car how they look? I think that is all Ralph cares about. Ralph has proved he cares about only money. He kept Jauron after three 7-9 seasons. He then (which many believed was to sell tickets) signed TO. He does care about how this team looks on the outside. This is a business.
And do you honestly think the Bills have no plans for a replacement tackle in place. You can't trade your LT and "hope" that an LT is still available where you draft.
Peter's wasn't going to play? You know that? Unbelievable! You just can't help but turn your opinions into facts.
-
We might think it looks foolish to take a LT at 11, but with one of the first 3 picks they need at least one offensive lineman. I would like a Center, Guard, and Tackle in this draft.
Absolutely. I think the C/G talent in the 2nd is too good to pass up.
-
The front office would like idiots? Do you even follow this team? Geezus...it has begun...
Our FO had no choice but to trade a player who wasnt going to play for us anyway. He clearly did NOT want to be here as he signed for LESS money than he was demanding from Buffalo, just like I said he would...it was all ploy by Peters to either get an absurd contract or get out of Buffalo...
Oh my fault. I forgot you work for the Bills. Wait you were the own who had the inside info on the Bills going after Cassel right? You also know all of Peter's motives. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
It was a ploy!! Yes, a well orchestrated plan by a man that was dumb enough to cut off contact with his team in order to get a new contract.
Yes they would look terrible if they traded their LT for essentially a 28 and then grab one at 11 making the trade virtually pointless.
I love the people on this board that have all the inside info.
-
The only people who know if Bell is ready to start or not are the coaches. He could be a solid player who was behind a pro-bowler or he could need more time or he may never become a starter. Nobody on this board most likely has enough information.
Absolutely. No one knows. Nor will any of our mocks be near correct. We all put in our opinions and hope for the best.
-
I swear I'm not trying to pick on you, OJ, but seriously?
How could "many" believe that Bell could be the LT of the future? He's never played a down in the NFL. I know, Peters was undrafted and he turned out great, but that doesn't mean that Bell has starter or even backup potential.
If anything, I think the more you hear in the next 48 hours about how much Buffalo likes Bell, the more likely it will be that they draft an OT in round 1. It would be much smarter to get a top flight prospect than to simply expect a guy that nobody else wanted to become a franchise left tackle.
Also, Cushing goes somewhere between pick 11 and pick 21...he's too good to last into the final third of the opening round. In fact, I haven't heard or seen one opinion that states Cushing as overrated.
No offense taken. But there is no guarantee that an elite tackle is there at 11. Or a first round worthy tackle at 28. Don't you think it would be hard for them to trade away their "pro bowl" left tackle without having any replacement already on the roster?
And as far as the cushing overrated talk goes
All I could find right now, but I have read things like this in several places.
-
EDIT: 41 million guaranteed. Could be worth up to 78 million. per NFL Network.
-
What do they say the best value is between? 20-40? I say anytime you can move in or around that range is a good thing.
-
Based on human nature, I just cant see R.B. using his top draft pick to fill a hole he created by letting his Pro-bowler walk out of a contract he had 2 years left on. I just cant see him showing his a$$ like that in front of the rest of his peers in the NFL, and if I'm wrong, be the first to bring a copy of this post to Smokies in Va Bch on any Sunday during the season and I'll buy you a beer!
I couldn't agree with you more. These guys will look like idiots if they take an OT after just trading one.
(Actually ya they probably will grab one at 11 or even earlier.)
Who do we take now?

If it's true that Maybin is playing LB then I say Everette Brown may fall to us and he could be our DE pick.
