Bad players defend bad coaches, who defend bad GM's, who defend bad owners...All of these guys know that they suck and are lucky to have NFL jobs. A competent organization would clean house, in which case many of them would be lucky to find work in the CFL.

I think there have been maybe 3 comments expressing offense at Thurman's candid criticism of Wilson, and another 3 pages in 100% agreement. Clearly, he had the courage to say what 99% of Bills fans have been desperately waiting to hear for a very, very long time.

God forbid somebody speaks out that the king has no clothes...it may cause embarrassment and damage his self esteem.

Thus, Thurman deserving our applause for pinning blame where it belongs, and not being a sellout lackey beholden to Ralph's money. Truth be told, suggesting no criticism of Ralph should be tolerated from ex-Bills seems to be suggesting we should all hail the dictator regardless of how cheap and stupid his decisions may be. I'll take candor and honesty at the expense of Ralph's ego for 1,000, Alex.

Sometimes candor comes with a sting. That doesn't mean it isn't needed or appreciated...

Wilson is pretty good at leaving things twist in the wind for awhile... Since I'm inventing this semi-fictitious scenario, I've decided to go with the annual season's end Palm Beach meeting being the time Ralph prepares his "official endorsement" of AVP.

Sadly, I'm only half joking.

Fast forward to February 16th, 2010: After the dismal 4-12 season concludes, AVP is given a two year extension at $900k/yr. Says Wilson, "The team showed great energy under Alex the last half of the season, and I'm looking forward to him leading the Buffalo Bills back to prominence. I think we have a great nucleus here, and Alex will provide that continuity and competitive energy we need to get to the next level."

Watching them get routed by a team that was winless and starting their backup was absolutely hilarious. They sure looked pumped up for this "rivalry" game, eh? Oh, but must still BILLIEVE, right? Ba-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! I love it. I can't wait to hear the excuses about how many injuries there were, how they are young and need more time, how Edwards will work through it and we need to give him a break, that TO is going to get it going anytime now, blah-blah-blah... So, should be a real barn burner against Cleveland next week, huh?

Living in South Florida, let me assure you that down here they stopped caring about Buffalo years ago. The game is about as interesting to them rivalry-wise as a game against the Rams or Chiefs. Buffalo is simply irrelevant...not hated, not thought about, not worthy of dislike, just uninteresting and circled as a presumed win.
