The man has put in his time being Flacco's understudy so let's give him a chance. Taylor can make plays I just don't see that happening consistently enough however. Plus, he's undersized and likely to get injured at some point. We know Cassell is bad and EJ I don't think will ever be a quality starter in the NFL- more like a long-term career back up in the likes of Charlie Batch.
Hard to imagine him getting a chance here? The QB position is there for the taking. If you can't beat out Matt Cassell and Tyrod Taylor, then you pretty much suck.
We don't have a viable QB on the roster. How long have we been saying that dammit. I see little chance of this team making it to the playoffs until Whaley finds someone.
Marrone while in Buffalo was an old school hard ass. I didn't think he was the brightest football mind but he made players accountable and preached discipline. Reminded me of a young Tom Coughlin. He took the Bills HC job multiple candidates even declined to interview for.
While DT Pat Williams wasn't cut, he wanted to stay in Buffalo and was never offered a fair contract by Tom Donahoe. In any event, that was a crippling move that sent the franchise back years
Any Nix and/or Whaley forced the pick. Nix even said in that secretly recorded phone call that it was a bad year to need a franchise QB. I don't fault Manuel. He seems to be a good person and works hard but everyone else had a 3rd round grade on him. Classic argument for drafting the BPA not forcing a pick because of need.
Well, we sucked in anonymity with Williams, Jauron, Gailey, and Marrone. With Rex we may still suck but at least Rex is making us relevant again if only for media attention.
Not sure if Russ' Pastry Shop is sill open on Grant Street in Buffalo but his cannoli are far superior to Mike's. Place is way over-rated imo.
Also, would hang out around Copley Square. Grab a slice of Boston Crème pie from the Fairmont Hotel where it was first made and have a seat in the park.
Walk thru Boston Commons. Take a ride on one of the swan boats- touristy but it's something you gotta do.
Also consider a Duck Tour. WWII era amphibious vehicles that take you on land and water to tour the city.
Dinner in the north end- near Mike's pastry shop. Great italian food. Paul Revere's home is nearby
The ironic part is Chan Gailey was high on Tanneyhill and all signs pointed to the Bills drafting Tanneyhill if he was on the board when they selected.
How about Jeff George or JaMarcus Russell? Seriously though, the options out there are really not better than anything on our roster unfortunately. One of the guys is going to get the job and let's hope our running game and defense are dominant to make up major for deficiencies at the QB position. Jim Kelly and Jack Kemp are not walking thru that door.
Glad the guy is doing something that calls to him and I hope he is happy. That said, I don't think his "artwork" would fetch enough money to buy breakfast at Denny's.
I don't know the man but after seeing multiple interviews he strikes me as a selfish, egocentric, me first type of guy. Chip Kelly is no dummy. He probably realized McCoy's best days are likely behind him and wanted to rid himself of a locker room prima donna. Let's realistically hope he can produce at a high level for 2-3 years and not put the Bills in salary cap hell with the ridiculous contract he signed.
